Mina glanced at me.
Considering that we arrived early and those butterflies hadn't shown up yet, she suggested a later time, nine o'clock.
Around seven, I went out with Mina for dinner. Instead of driving, we decided to walk slowly to the KTV entrance.
I rarely came to places like this before, and after marrying Xiao Minxing, even less so. Now, seeing those dazzling lights all of a sudden made me feel dizzy; my instinct was to grab Mina's arm and hurry away.
Mina looked at me and said, "This place is much safer, and it's a room booked by Su Shao. We can just go in; no one will disturb us."
As she spoke, she was already pulling me inside.
We reported Su Qian's name at the front desk, and the waiter immediately led us upstairs, his eyes filled with respect.
I initially thought we had arrived early, but when the door opened, I saw Su Qian sitting inside with two beautiful women beside him, sitting very close. Each held a wine glass and was drinking with Su Qian.
I awkwardly looked inside, unable to move my feet.
However, Mina stepped in first and greeted Su Qian warmly. She then pulled me over to a sofa near the door.
The girls on either side smiled and nodded at Mina, probably thinking we were like them, so everyone was accustomed to it.
Only I sat uncomfortably on the edge, glancing at the entrance from time to time, feeling an impulse to escape.
Su Qian's figure was blurred by the flickering colored lights, but since we entered, he had been sitting still, holding a wine glass in one hand and casually resting the other on a girl's shoulder, as if we didn't exist at all.
Mina leaned against me and asked, "How is it? Have you gained some experience?"
I wanted to smile at her, but at that moment, I couldn't manage a smile and didn't dare to look at Su Qian. I felt uncomfortable everywhere; how could we have thought to come to this place to see him? It was really quite foolish.
A song on the LCD screen finally finished its tune. Taking advantage of the brief silence, Mina asked Su Qian, "Can these two girls step outside for a moment?"
Su Qian wore his usual smile and glanced only at the entrance. The girls on either side of him stood up and walked out.
He picked up the remote control and paused the music, then looked over at me and asked, "You don't come here often?"
Mina shot him a sideways glance and said, "The setup you have here is quite grand; it's scared our little Anan. We originally wanted to find a place to talk to you, but as soon as we walked in, we saw you sitting among beautiful women and thought we might be interrupting something good."
Su Qian raised an eyebrow and replied, "What good thing? This kind of thing happens every day. You two look like you really don't come here often."
Mina laughed and said, "I'm fine, but mainly Anan comes here less; she's a good girl."
I was really feeling awkward, and I sensed that Su Qian was acting this way entirely for our benefit, which made me even more uncomfortable.
However, I couldn't read him at all. After finishing his conversation with Mina, he turned to me and said, "Anan, you two sit for a while; I'm stepping out for a moment. I'll be back soon."
Seeing him leave, I finally nodded and then grabbed Mina's arm saying, "Let's go; this feeling is just terrible."
Mina seemed unconcerned: "This is actually just his normal life. But today he must have realized our purpose for coming here, so he's acting like this on purpose."
It seems that both of us have come to the same conclusion, but I still don't understand why Su Qian would do this.
Mina looked at the large screen in front and said, "It's likely to tell you that he really doesn't love you; it's just mutual assistance."
"Why?" I was even more confused.
Mina calmly replied, "That way, you won't have any psychological burden, and you'll think it's quite good, allowing you to happily marry him. With your naive mindset, I'm actually worried this might happen."
"Then let's leave. I never intended to marry him anyway. Besides, I'm still not divorced, so how can I say I'm going to marry someone else?"
Before I could clarify things with Minara, Su Qian had already returned, holding a cup of hot milk. He placed it in front of me and said, "You can't drink alcohol or eat anything cold, so just drink this for now."
I must say, he is a very considerate man. Not just me; any woman who encounters someone like him at this moment would feel a flutter in her heart.
Su Qian sat back in his seat but didn't ask us what we were here for. He just chatted casually with Mina about the songs on the screen.
I had nothing more to say. I brought the cup of hot milk to my lips, almost afraid to let go of it. This way, it perfectly blocked my mouth, and I didn’t have to speak.
Half an hour passed inside, feeling like an eternity.
As I was contemplating how to get Minara to leave, the door to the private room was pushed open again.
However, it wasn't a beautiful woman who entered but a handsome man. Yet this handsome man's expression was far from pleasant.
His face was covered in stubble, his hair was messy, and he wore casual clothes with a wide-open collar that revealed a portion of his chest muscles.
The light changed, probably to adapt to the lighting inside, and he stood there blankly at the Entrance.
I was frozen, staring at the person in front of me, forgetting how to react. At that moment, my entire body and mind felt as if they were being pressed down by a huge hand without claws, suffocating yet unable to break free.
Mina and Su Qian stood up simultaneously, both of them separating me from the person at the Entrance.
It seemed that he had finally found my position, but he didn't come over immediately and wasn't as furious as before. Perhaps due to the dim lighting, his expression appeared calm; it was just that his appearance was too disheveled, looking incredibly forlorn.
Xiao Minxing stood for several minutes before speaking towards my direction: "You don't need to be on high alert. I just want to say a few words to her and then I'll leave."
The two people standing in front of me did not step aside. They had both witnessed Xiao Minxing's behavior, so it was not surprising at all.
In fact, I was just as frightened and felt like I could escape into the ground while they blocked him.
However, he seemed genuinely calmer than before. He withdrew his gaze from me and looked at them, saying: "Up until now, she is still my wife. I think you have no right to do this."
Mina's body visibly stiffened for a moment, but Su Qian quickly turned back and walked to my side.
He bent down and spoke softly: "Anan, we need to handle this situation. You two go talk in the lobby; Mina and I will follow. He wouldn't dare do anything to you; there are cameras everywhere here, so don't worry."
Seeing me turn my gaze to his face, Su Qian solemnly nodded.
