There are always many subtle matters between men that we cannot understand, just as they do not understand women. I couldn't help Mina with these things, but seeing her heartache made me unable to resist promising to ask Xiao Minxing if I got the chance.
Mina was overjoyed by such a promise. She grabbed her bag and said, "Then I'll leave everything to you! I have a lot of things to do this afternoon."
Not long after she left, Xiao Minxing also came out. He stood at his entrance and glanced at me coldly before saying, "I'm going to work."
I nodded at him and then watched him leave.
When I turned around to go back to my room for a nap, I heard a slight sound from Jin Ke's room door.
After hesitating for a moment, I walked over to ask her if she was feeling unwell.
She responded from inside, but when I asked her anything else, there was no reply, and she still hadn't opened the door.
As Mina said, everyone has their happy or unhappy moments; I didn't need to push against the knife's edge at that moment, so I returned to my room.
After waking up from my nap, I finally remembered that since Xiao Minxing arrived, I hadn't seriously drawn my comics in a long time. Even when sitting in the study, my mind was elsewhere, and my output had been extremely low. To be precise, since the last time I handed over my stock to Bai Xiaoqing, I hadn't drawn much at all.
Looking at the blank paper on the drawing board, my anxiety increased, so I focused on my own tasks for the afternoon.

After trying several times without much success, I stood and pondered.
It wasn't until it got dark outside that I finally came out of the study, only to find the house in darkness. Xiao Minxing hadn't returned, and Jin Ke was nowhere to be found.
I quickly called her, but no one answered for a long time. Helplessly, I had to call Xiao Minxing.
From his voice, he seemed still at the company. When I asked him when he would be back, he simply said it might be a bit late and told me not to wait for him and to eat first.
Thinking about Jin Ke, I asked him if she had called him.
Xiao Minxing let out a soft "hm" and then said to me, "Don't let her call me anymore."
His tone was cold, tinged with a hint of impatience, which left me feeling confused. I asked him what was going on and mentioned that Jin Ke still hadn't returned and wasn't answering my calls. I wondered if something had happened.
Xiao Minxing paused for a few seconds before softly saying, "Wait for me at home; I'll be back soon."
"But you said..."
Before I could finish my sentence, he hung up.
Half an hour later, Xiao Minxing appeared at the Entrance but didn't come inside. He simply said, "Change your shoes and come with me."
"Where are we going?" I hurriedly asked.
"To eat."
I was taken aback; didn't he say he had work to do? Why was he rushing over from the office to take me out for dinner? Had I misheard him, or was something wrong with his head?
However, I didn't dare to ask these questions. Even if I did, Xiao Minxing might not answer. The easiest way was to just follow his lead, so I quickly changed my shoes, tidied my hair, and went out with him.
While waiting for the elevator, I brought up Jin Ke again. Xiao Minxing replied coldly, "She's fine; you don't need to worry. But you should look for a new nanny when you have time."
"Huh? Why? Mina said the same thing today," I looked at Xiao Minxing and asked.
He glanced down at me from above but didn't answer my question, his eyes focused solely on the elevator button.
After we finished eating, he drove me back. He spoke very little, and when he dropped me off at the Entrance, he still didn't come inside. He simply said, "I have some things to take care of; you can rest."

Being alone in such a large house suddenly made me feel a bit empty, and I doubled my curiosity about how Jin Ke was doing.
I called her again, and this time she picked up quickly, but told me that a college classmate of hers had an emergency, which is why she left in a hurry and didn't have time to inform me.
I asked her when she would be back, and she said it would be tomorrow morning.

Mina sighed for a long time before saying, "I thought you were calling me because you had already talked to Xiao Zong about the matter I asked you to handle at noon and that it was settled. I didn't expect you..."
