I got up, grabbed my coat, and said, "Let's take a taxi and hurry."
Sister Liu didn't know what was going on. She had only been here for a week and wasn't very familiar with either me or Xiao Minxing. However, she seemed honest and usually didn't talk much. After finishing her tasks, she would either rest or accompany me for a walk.
Seeing me rush out, she thought something serious had happened and looked quite nervous.

We hailed a taxi outside the community and headed straight towards the Xiao Family Ancestral Home. We didn't encounter Xiao Minxing's car on the way; I wasn't sure if he was driving too fast or took a detour.
My place was far from the Xiao Family Ancestral Home, so it took about an hour to arrive. By this time, the sun had completely set, and the sky turned a grayish-white, obscuring many distant objects.
I stood outside the Xiao Family Ancestral Home for a long time but didn't see anyone moving inside, not even Xiao Minxing.
Could it be that he hasn't returned?
I initially wanted to call him to ask, but I held back and decided to call Mina first.
Mina had also been extremely busy lately. I didn't know why Xiao Minxing was collaborating with them again. I heard that he even made some concessions on previously proposed conditions, so she had been tied up with this case.
When she answered my call, she let out a long sigh and said, "Miss, where are you?"
I briefly explained what happened with Xiao Minxing and told her my location.
Mina exploded on the other end: "How could he possibly be at the Xiao Family Ancestral Home? Zhuo Feng told me today that he invited him out for dinner tonight, and it seems Su Qian is going too."
"Ah? He's having dinner with Su Qian?" This news made my heart skip a beat.

“Do you know where they are?” I asked Mina.

I needed to find them, and it would definitely be inconvenient with Sister Liu involved. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to handle the situation well on my own, so I could only ask Mina to come along.
Although she was busy, she always cared about my matters and was just as puzzled as I was about why Xiao Minxing would tell such a lie. So we decided to take a taxi back to the city center to meet up.
As we headed east towards Haicheng, I felt a bit anxious and kept asking Mina if she could think of any other clues. Otherwise, Haicheng East is so large that by the time we find them, they might have already finished their business.
She got anxious too and took out her Mobile Phone, saying, “Why think so much? Just call him directly. I don’t believe Zhuo Feng won’t tell me.”
As she spoke, she had already dialed the number.
However, the other side didn’t answer her; in fact, they didn’t pick up at all.
Mina was so angry that she felt like taking off the Steering Wheel, huffing, “See? This is how men are. Once they get what they want, they won’t cherish it anymore. I should have seen through him long ago.”
She repeated this at least a dozen times before suddenly turning her frustration towards me, saying with a hint of grievance, “Back then when I said he wasn’t good enough, you all advised me otherwise. “No, no, that’s not what I meant. When did you two actually get together? The last time I saw you, you said you wanted to wait a bit longer.”
This time Mina regretted it even more; she even stopped driving and pulled over to the side of the road. She turned her head and looked at me strangely, saying, “I said I wanted to wait! But he doesn’t want to wait!”
“What do you mean? Did he force himself on you?”
I really can't imagine it being like this. Mina's personality goes without saying; she is the kind of person who, if she doesn't want to do something, wouldn't do it even if someone held a knife to her. And Zhuo Feng used to be very tolerant of her, and he was quite polite as well. How could such a thing happen?
Unexpectedly, when Mina heard this, she slapped my forehead. Although it was light, it was enough to wake me up.
"What are you thinking? What do you mean by forcing someone? Do I look like someone who's easy to bully?" She glared at me.
I was completely confused by her and could only wait for her to explain.
After sitting for a moment, Mina said, "At first, I was working for him, but later I don't know what he was thinking; he gave me some shares in the company."

If I quit now, wouldn't we be splitting up?"
I truly hadn't expected Zhuo Feng to be like this. Everyone could see his deep feelings for Mina, but besides that affection, he also gave her respect and trust that others couldn't provide.
Turning to Mina, I advised her as a friend: "There aren't many men like him left. Think carefully; if you let go of him, you might not encounter someone like him in your next life."
Mina rolled her eyes and disdainfully said, "There aren't many women like me either. Shouldn't he cherish that?"
After talking with her for a while, I finally noticed that Car had been parked by the roadside all this time. I suddenly became anxious again: "We're out here looking for someone, not listening to your stories. Why aren't you leaving?"
Mina didn't move; she looked at me and after a few seconds finally spoke: "Anan, just go back. Let the men handle their own issues. Since Xiao Zong doesn't want you to know, going over now will only embarrass him, which is definitely not what he wants to see."
