Mina let out a long "oh" and said, "I see, that makes me feel relieved."
I curiously asked her, "How did you find out the news so quickly? I just got there today."
Mina calmly replied, "What kind of person is Xiao Zong? He’s our partner; how could I not pay attention to him? Not to mention you going to work, even Lu Yishan I’m keeping an eye on."
It suddenly struck me that I had spent the whole day there without seeing her shadow. Although Xiao Minxing had clarified things with those two siblings last time, love is not something that can be easily controlled. If it were truly that simple, Lu Yishan wouldn’t still be thinking about him.

After she finished speaking with Xiao Minxing, she got up to leave and shot me a knowing glance.
As I followed her out of the office, I heard her complain to me, "Is your Xiao Minxing okay?"
I shook my head and said, "He's fine. He just called you over for me, it's just business."
Mina's eyes widened as she looked at me and asked, "What did you say?"
I briefly explained how I wanted to find her in the morning but was stopped by Xiao Minxing. This made Mina so angry that she pointed at me for a long time before finally huffing out, "You two are toxic."
I laughed and linked my arm with hers as we walked outside. When we reached the elevator, I said, "I need your help with something."
When Mina heard that I wanted to dig into the Xiao family's background, she immediately pulled away a bit and looked at me sideways.
Feeling uncomfortable under her gaze, I explained, "Before, I only thought about marrying Xiao Minxing; what his family was like had nothing to do with me. But now I've realized that this viewpoint was wrong. Even though I thought it didn't matter, his family sees me as a thorn in their side. If this situation really leads to losing the child, I don't know how I would live afterward."
Mina, being kind-hearted, immediately frowned when I said this. She held onto my arm and said, "It's not that I don't want to help you find out; it's just that you've seen how Xiao Zong is right now. If he doesn't want you to know something and you go digging around, it might backfire."
"It's fine. He just finds it hard to tell me. Since he has placed me within Zhi Xing and is close by, if there are things I find out on my own first, he won't mind."
With my mind made up, the next step was to find a suitable method.
According to Mina, it would be better to approach either Xiao Minhui or Li Ru. These two women have already grown to hate Xiao Minxing for their own family's interests; they would definitely be willing to harm him. We just needed to extract the information we wanted from their words.
