A few days later? That's an unknown factor, and we dare not bet our chances on Ye Guang.
Xiao Minxing also mentioned that Ye Guang's family must have been searching everywhere through various connections. There are actually very few places we can go in Haicheng, and even fewer places we know he might be.
What I really can't understand is the Ye Family. After Ye Dad called us, he hasn't shown up. When I asked Xiao Minxing, he couldn't clarify either. As for Mrs. Ye, her son is missing, yet she has been at the Hospital Entrance, disregarding her image and cursing. What kind of tactic is that?
We searched all the places Ye Guang might have gone, but in the end, we found nothing.
Xiao Minxing still had a lot of work to do at his company. He gave me his car and went off to work, helplessly telling me that if we couldn't find him, we should just go back since we weren't obligated to help the Ye Family look for their son.
I looked at him angrily: "We're not doing this for the Ye Family; Ye Guang is our friend."
He nodded at me and replied softly, "I'm just venting. Have you ever seen a man support his wife in looking for another man?"
"He's different from others, you know..." I hurried to explain, but I saw Xiao Minxing already smiling and he squeezed my hand saying, "Alright, go ahead. I'll call you again."
We parted ways at the intersection; he took a taxi to his company while I was left unsure where else to search for Ye Guang.
After wandering around the streets of Haicheng again with no results, just then Sister Liu called me, and I thought about going back to check on Xiao Zhe.
Unexpectedly, I ran into Su Qian on my way home.
Actually, the place we live now isn't far from him; I can even see his house from my rooftop. However, because this new housing area has opened a new road, I rarely pass by that section and thus haven't had the chance to encounter him.
Haicheng isn't too big or too small; it's easy to run into someone when you want to and equally easy to avoid someone when you don't.
Su Qian was avoiding me, and I had no reason to see him either. Ever since that last visit to his house when those words were said, although we've seen each other a couple of times since then, not a single word has been exchanged.
This time I drove along the old road and unexpectedly saw him in front of the house where we used to live.
His car was parked by the roadside, and he was leaning against it, facing away from the road, looking at his mobile phone.
I could actually pretend not to see him and just walk past; he wouldn't notice me either. However, seeing him in this place at this moment felt a bit strange.
I stopped beside his car, and Su Qian also looked up.
When he saw me, he didn't greet me with a smile like usual. Instead, he froze for a moment and quickly glanced back at the house behind him.
I looked inside as well, but just like last time, I saw nothing.
Perhaps it was because we now lived in a similarly large house that I didn't feel the same way about being here as I did before.
I opened the car door and tried to act natural as I said, "What a coincidence, you're here too."
He pressed his lips together and softly replied, "Yeah, what a coincidence."
I didn't know what else to say next. It seemed like he wasn't interested in talking to me, even still holding onto his mobile phone.
I hesitated for a moment, thinking about retreating quietly.
But then I heard him ask, "You... probably don't come this way often, right? What's going on today?"
I glanced at the car beside me and briefly explained the situation with Ye Guang. Of course, I quickly remembered that he had some research in psychology and knew the Ye family, so I asked, "Where do you think he might go? We've already searched all the places he could be in Haicheng."
Su Qian casually replied, "Then go to places he wouldn't possibly go."
I was stunned for a while and couldn't quite understand what he meant.
"Places that are impossible to go? There are many. I still have nowhere to look, so I can only ask him again, 'For example?'"
Su Qian finally put away his mobile phone, glanced at me, and said, "How about I go with you to look for him?"
I was quite surprised that he would say this, but I was indeed anxious to find Ye Guang, so I didn't respond.
Su Qian took a couple of steps toward me and said, "You don't mind if I sit in your car, do you?"
I hurried over to help him open the car door, but he reached out and opened it himself, then naturally sat down inside. He even opened his mobile phone and continued playing games without waiting for me to get in.
However, after I started the car, I didn't know where to go and could only turn my head to look at Su Qian.
He looked the same as before, but with much less smile; his face was calm and expressionless, his gaze fixed on his mobile phone as if he had completely immersed himself in the game and forgotten everything around him.
"Where should we go now?" I asked.
His tone was casual as he replied without looking up, "Just follow this road straight until the end at Evergreen Cemetery."
"Huh? Why are we going to a cemetery?" I stopped the car and looked at him.
Su Qian tilted his head to look at me, the corners of his mouth slightly lifting as he finally revealed the first smile I've seen from him in a long time. He shook his head and said, "It's really not easy to keep a straight face with you."
My immediate reaction was to ask him, "Why keep a straight face?"
Su Qian paused for a moment but suddenly broke into laughter and said, "Alright, let's not talk about that. Let's drive to the cemetery; he might be there."
I didn't know why Ye Guang would be at the cemetery, but since we had nowhere else to look, we might as well go there and see.
I had hardly ever been to a place like a cemetery because I had no parents or relatives; therefore, they could not have passed away in my life.
Following Su Qian, I searched row by row, from the bottom to the top, finally stopping in front of a tombstone.
The person on it had the surname Ye, and the photo was of the elderly man we had seen at a wedding.
However, Ye Guang was not here.
I stood in front of the grave, looking around, then glanced at Su Qian beside me, who had a helpless expression: "There's no one here either. You said he has no money on him; where could he go?"
Su Qian shrugged and said, "I don't know."
Feeling a bit dizzy, I asked him, "Didn't you study psychology? Can't you analyze where he might go with your professional knowledge?"
Su Qian laughed again: "I only studied a little bit, and psychology isn't fortune-telling. Besides, Young Master Ye is different from a typical mental patient; otherwise, he wouldn't have run away, right?"
Seeing his demeanor, I was almost completely disappointed. As I turned to walk back, I heard him say, "How about we search around again? Maybe we'll run into him."
I didn't have much confidence, but not searching made me feel uneasy, so I silently continued down.
Su Qian didn't say anything else and followed me until we sat in the car. Only then did he speak again: "How about we check near your house?"
"Go to my house?" I looked at him suspiciously, not quite understanding what he meant.
