We racked our brains but couldn't come up with a better solution.
In the end, Longwen surprisingly stood up and said, "How about this? I've been in Haicheng for a long time and have always stayed in hotels. I was planning to rent a place, but I was too lazy to look. Now I need Anan to help me find an apartment, just somewhere near your company."
I looked at Mina; she didn't say anything and lowered her head, seemingly lost in thought.
Longwen rubbed his hands together and said, "I probably won't take care of him too much; I can't be overly attentive. However, we should be able to help each other out in daily life. Besides, I'm actually quite interested in Comic..."
"Why don't you discuss this with Mina first?" I interrupted him before he could finish. Although it was rude, I felt that this matter should respect Mina's opinion.
Xiao Minxing also said, "No rush. I still need to find someone who can communicate with the Ye Family before we proceed. You two discuss it first."
Xiao Minxing went outside to make a phone call, and I followed him out, leaving Longwen and Mina in the small hall on the second floor.
Once outside, he didn't actually make the call; instead, he asked me, "Do you think it would be better if I talked to Su Qian about this?"
"Su Qian? Why him?" I was a bit surprised that he mentioned this person and even wondered if he knew about my recent visit with Su Qian to see Ye Guang.
However, Xiao Minxing didn't look at me; he stood there thinking for a moment before saying, "I considered that his father is similar to Ye Guang's dad in the political arena, so he might have more leverage in the conversation."
I wasn't optimistic about this idea and shrugged my shoulders, saying, "What if it's just officials protecting each other? Even if not, you're asking Su Qian to talk; it's not his dad. The Ye Family might not be intimidated."
"It's better that it's not his dad. There’s an invisible pressure from connections without being too direct. Plus, Su Qian is articulate; I think it should work. I'll call him right now."
Before I could stop him, he had already dialed the number. So half an hour later, Su Qian appeared at our house.
I hadn't expected Su Qian to agree so quickly and even seemed eager as he said, "Sure! Who knows? Maybe I can negotiate for some additional benefits too."
Seeing his expression made me want to laugh; I casually replied, "Forget about negotiating for benefits. If you can handle this properly, that's the greatest contribution to the people."
Su Qian just smiled and remained silent.
Xiao Minxing glanced at me strangely, then simply turned his body away. Seeing him jealous and desperately trying to suppress it, I didn't dare to be too arrogant. As I walked upstairs, I said, "I'm going to check on Minara and the others."
When I saw them, Minara was sitting alone on the sofa in the small living room, while Longwen stood by the window on the second floor.
From the looks of it, I could tell that the outcome was definitely not good. Since I wasn't very familiar with Longwen, I could only take Minara outside to talk.
As soon as I stepped out of the room, Minara angrily asked me, "Do you think he has a problem?"
I was taken aback, thinking about how just a few days ago they were still sweet and loving. How did it turn into this?
Before I could ask, Minara continued, "I've told him hundreds of times to come stay with me. He keeps saying it's more convenient to stay in a hotel because it's close to where he works, coming up with all sorts of excuses. Now look at him, he's gone off to find a place to live on his own, still with..."
She didn't finish her sentence, but I could tell it wasn't anything good. It left a particularly unpleasant feeling in my heart.
I remembered that Xiao Minxing's information clearly stated that they were already living together. Why was Minara saying this now?
Anxing's comic studio was indeed a bit far from where she lived. If Longwen moved there, it might not be convenient for them to meet regularly, which I thought was something Minara couldn't tolerate.
After thinking for a while, I said, "Longwen is just saying that; he feels sorry for Ye Guang and doesn't mean anything else."
Minara got even angrier when she heard me say that: "I feel sorry for him too! But we have many ways to solve this problem, don't we? Even if it's renting him a place to stay, I can pay for a nanny to take care of him. Isn't that the same? Why does he have to go by himself?"
I understood Minara's feelings and thought her idea was good. Having a professional take care of Ye Guang might be better. So I immediately said, "That's a great idea! We didn't think of that earlier. I'll go talk to Xiao Minxing right now."
But as soon as I turned around, I saw Longwen standing not far away. His gaze towards Minara was still gentle, but his words were firm: "No need; I'll go myself. A nanny may be more professional, but what's the difference from him going back to Ye's house? Don't you all forget that he doesn't lack care; he just lacks friends?"
Minara didn't wait for him to finish speaking and quickly rushed out.
By the time I ran to the door, her car had already driven out of the gate.
On the first floor, Xiao Minxing and Su Qian were both confused about what had happened and turned to look at me and Longwen.
I didn't know how to explain it to them either. After all, everyone has their own freedom; we could only advise them but couldn't force any decisions upon them.
However, the three men quickly became friends, especially when Su Qian learned that Longwen was Mina's new boyfriend. His eyes sparkled as he said, "Hey, I've been friends with her for so many years. I've tried countless times to make a move but was scared off. I didn't expect you to be this impressive."
Longwen smiled and shook the drink in his hand, saying, "She's a good girl."
I couldn't help but say, "Then you need to cherish her and take care of Ye Guang. We have plenty of ways to help; if it really doesn't work out, you can stay at our place. After all, we are friends."
Su Qian chimed in, "How about this? You can stay at my place. The house is big enough, and I'm alone, so there's plenty of room for him to hang out."
Xiao Minxing was the first to object: "That won't work. You always have a bunch of drinking buddies over. Ye Guang won't fit in there. We don't want him to end up becoming an alcoholic instead of focusing on his studies."
This guy seemed to care about Ye Guang even more than Xiao Zhe, which surprised me. When did he become so familiar with Su Qian?
Seeing me talking to someone else made him sulk, yet he secretly flirted behind my back.
In the end, the four of us couldn't come to a good conclusion, or rather, Longwen insisted on living with Ye Guang, and no one could persuade him otherwise.
I thought about it and felt troubled, so I went upstairs to call Mina and try to convince her.
Mina is also quite stubborn; you can tell from her past relationships that what others say doesn't matter unless she comes to her own conclusion. So when I said a few words, she hung up on me.
Feeling helpless, I walked back only to unexpectedly hear Longwen say, "She will understand me; it's just a matter of time."
