As soon as I thought of this, I immediately looked towards Ye Guang's room entrance.
There were only two possibilities: either Longwen didn't go to work at all, or Ye Guang had enough ability to handle things alone at night.
Unfortunately, he had already gone to sleep, so I couldn't ask him, and with Longwen also absent, I could only set aside my doubts for now.
In the latter half of the night, my eyelids became so heavy that I couldn't lift them at all, so I leaned against Xiao Minxing and tried to doze off for a bit.
However, when I opened my eyes again, it was already bright outside, and the entire room was still quiet; no one had returned.
Xiao Minxing helped me sit up straight and adjusted the clothes draped over me before he stood up and stretched his arms, saying, "Let's make a call."
Still feeling groggy, I asked him, "Who should I call?"
"Of course it's Longwen. If he doesn't come back soon, am I supposed to skip work? You shouldn't go to the office today either; just go home and get some sleep. Leave Ye Guang in his care."
An hour later, Longwen finally returned, looking quite cheerful as if he had enjoyed a pleasant night. However, upon seeing me and Xiao Minxing, he asked, "Xiao Zong, you two...?"
Xiao Minxing waved his hand at him and said, "We're going back to catch up on sleep. Don't just fill your own stomach and ignore others; Ye Guang is in your hands now."
Longwen then broke into a smile.
The conflict between him and Mina should have been resolved by now. Even if it wasn't fully settled, at least today would push things forward a bit more, allowing us to worry less.
However, Xiao Minxing did not go back to sleep with me. As soon as we got downstairs, he called a car for me and said, "You should go back and rest. I have some things to handle at the company."
"You haven't slept all night. Can't you push things back a bit?"
He shook his head and said, "These were all arranged beforehand, and it's not easy to postpone. Plus, I have to meet a very important client today. But I'm fine, you don't need to worry."
He is a complete workaholic, and I have gotten used to it.
I was just really exhausted, so as soon as I got home, I didn't even pay attention to Xiao Zhe and fell straight into bed.
When I woke up, it was already noon. Just as I stepped out, I heard someone talking downstairs, and it wasn't just two nannies; Mina was also there.
I hurried downstairs and almost missed a step on the stairs.
Mina was sitting on our living room sofa, playing with Xiao Zhe. They were both laughing happily. Although this godmother rarely comes to spend time with him, she often accompanied me when I was pregnant. So ever since Xiao Zhe learned to recognize people, he has become quite familiar with Mina. If I dare to take him to Mina's house for a visit, that little guy would want to stay there and not come back.
In Mina's words: "This is no godson; he’s clearly my own son."
She was now saying to Xiao Zhe: "My dear son, come here to your real mom."
Because of what happened yesterday, I was still feeling quite angry. Hearing her say that, I went over and picked up Xiao Zhe, saying, "Don't listen to your godmother; she hasn't woken up from last night's sweet dream yet."
Mina immediately sat up straight and glared at me, saying, "What sweet dream? That was something that really happened."
"Alright then, even if it really happened, why are you here at my house so early? Is it not enough with two men around? Do you have to bring my son along too?"
Mina just smiled and joked with me, not getting to the point at all.
However, I was also curious. Last night was one thing, but why wasn't she at work today? This wasn't like her style.
She waited until she had enough fun before letting Sister Liu take Xiao Zhe away, then she looked at me seriously and said, "Anan, I'm getting married."
"What did you say? Big sister, can you say that again?"
Mina squinted at the chandelier on the ceiling for a long time before saying, "I'm getting married, possibly this month."
"No way, have you lost your mind? You talk about dating and then suddenly about marriage. Big sister, have you considered our feelings?"
Mina immediately shifted her gaze to my face and said with wide eyes, "It's me getting married; what do you feel? Your son is already so big; aren't you worried about my marriage?"
I was almost dizzy from her words.
Of course, I hoped she could find happiness and someone who loved her as much as she loved them. But after such a long cold war with Longwen, even if they reconciled last night, how could it suddenly escalate to marriage? Wasn't that a bit too fast?
After thinking for a while, I asked her, "What exactly happened last night? Can you tell me properly? Why does this feel so strange?"
"There's nothing strange about it. Longwen and I have already agreed to register next week. As for the wedding, we'll discuss it after meeting his parents."
I jumped up from the sofa, my voice changing: "You're crazy! You haven't even met his parents, and you're going to register? What if his parents don't agree? And what about your parents? They haven't met Longwen either!"
Mina nonchalantly replied, "It's not like we're going to live with them. Meeting before the wedding is just a matter of respect; they don't need to make the decision."
I really want to knock on this Good Fellow's head to see what's inside. With such a big issue at hand, she actually has this attitude. What I can't understand the most is that Longwen is actually going along with her.
Are they both crazy?
Mina looked at me sideways for a while before saying, "I know you must think I've lost my mind, but Anan, I really don't want to wait any longer. So when Longwen told me he wanted to get married, I agreed. This is something I've been waiting for a long time myself."
"But are you two really okay?" I was too worried. Longwen's temper is even stranger than Mina's. What if there are problems later on?
Breaking up is one thing, but divorce is a big deal. The establishment of a marriage is not just about that piece of marriage certificate.
I've experienced this myself, so I really want to tell Mina to be cautious. But just like every time in the past, I can't persuade her heart and can't change her decision.
She didn't sit in our house for long. After mentioning this matter, she stood up and said, "After I get married, I might go to Hong Kong."
I've already been shocked by her too many times today. This time, although I didn't jump up, my heart was clearly stimulated, and I stared at her blankly.
She seemed very pleased with my expression and smiled as she said, "Longwen's family is from Hong Kong. He also hopes that I will develop there. When I think about it, I've been in Haicheng for so many years; it's not a bad thing to go out and explore, so I agreed."
After holding back for a long time, I finally asked her, "What about your current company?"
Mina shrugged and said, "I'm just the hired general manager; I'm not the real boss. Once I leave, the boss will definitely arrange for someone new to take over. But you don't have to worry; with shares in these two companies, even if I don't work in the future, my life shouldn't be too bad."
