Guan Mingyue walked for a long time, and I couldn't snap out of that atmosphere. It felt particularly unreal, as if I had just had a dream, and all the chaotic images would disappear when I woke up.
After leaving work early in the evening and dropping Ye Guang off at Longwen's place, I went to find Xiao Minxing.
He was still very busy, with a pile of documents to review.
I initially planned to wait until he finished, but the more I thought about it, the angrier I became. So I walked over and sat down in front of him, saying, "Do you think Guan Mingyue is crazy?"
Xiao Minxing looked up, put down the documents in his hand, and calmly stared at me.
I was really upset and didn't care anymore. I told him, "What does it matter to me whether Su Qian marries her? Why is she blaming me? With her attitude, not only would Su Qian not want her, but if I were a man, I wouldn't dare to take her either. She's like a lunatic, looking for trouble everywhere."
"She came to find you again?" Xiao Minxing asked.
I nodded and said, "Yeah, just this afternoon. She almost hit me! Luckily, Su Qian was there too. But from the look on her face, it seems she doesn't plan to let it go. She even said something like 'we'll see' when she left."
A cold expression immediately appeared on Xiao Minxing's face; his eyes narrowed, and he didn't say anything further.
I grabbed his hand resting on the table and said, "Am I going to be too scared to go to work now? She looks so fierce! What if she brings someone next time to beat me up? What should I do?"
"You just go; I'll handle it," he replied.
I shot him a glance and said, "You're so far away. Even if I call you the moment she walks in, by the time you arrive, she could have already beaten me to death."
"She won't go again, don't worry." Xiao Minxing said this with his head already lowered, continuing to look at the documents in his hands.
But I wasn't reassured at all and kept insisting that he give me a solution.
Perhaps I had annoyed him, so he simply put away the documents and said, "It's fine. I'll find someone to handle this matter and will also communicate with Su Qian. She won't cause trouble at the studio anymore."
I looked at his face and asked, "Communicate with Su Qian? With her attitude, how could she be afraid of Su Qian? Besides, if they don't get married, they shouldn't have much of a relationship. What good would it do for you to talk to Su Qian?"
Xiao Minxing held me in his arms, resting his chin on the top of my head and asked, "You don't trust me?"
I mumbled, "It's not that I don't trust you; it's just that we're so far apart, and she seems crazy. I'm afraid she might suddenly attack again."
His voice sounded from above me: "Then do you have any good ideas to solve this?"
I didn't have any. If I did, would I still come to him?
After talking for a long time, my mood hadn't calmed down much. Xiao Minxing couldn't persuade me, so he had no choice but to call Su Qian in front of me.
I couldn't hear what was said on the other end; Xiao Minxing responded with a few "uh-huhs" before hanging up and said, "He'll handle it. If you're really scared, you can avoid going to the studio for these few days. You can come here or go home to rest."
Resting at home was out of the question. Although the studio wasn't very busy, the projects assigned to me by Xiao Minxing were still ongoing. If I went home and got caught up with Xiao Zhe again, my work would definitely pile up. So I decided to start working at Zhi Xing from tomorrow.
The next day, as soon as they arrived at the company, they saw Xiao Minhui waiting downstairs at Zhi Xing.
Seeing Xiao Minxing and me together, she gritted her teeth as if forcing herself to suppress her dissatisfaction and said, "I need to talk to you."
Xiao Minxing was not buying her act at all and simply replied, "I don't have time."
She pulled me toward the Elevator.
Xiao Minhui was also busy squeezing in, saying, "It's urgent. If you can't handle it, then you'll have to find Father."
"I can't handle it; it's your choice who to look for." This was Xiao Minxing's second response.
Once they were on the Elevator, Xiao Minhui had a bruised face, with patches of blue and white. It wasn't until we reached our floor that she pressed the button again after Xiao Minxing and I got off.
I asked him somewhat confused, "What does she want from you?"
Xiao Minxing calmly said, "Probably that the company can't hold on any longer. But I won't help them anymore; it won't matter who they find."
In fact, we all knew Old Master Xiao's attitude toward Xiao Minhui. Even if she went to him, it might not be useful, and Xiao Minxing wouldn't be afraid. She probably really had no leverage left, which is why she brought this person up again.
However, around ten in the morning, his Office door was still open, and Old Master Xiao appeared at the Entrance along with Mrs. Xiao.
Xiao Minxing lifted her head from behind her desk and glanced at the two approaching figures without saying a word.
Mrs. Xiao's gaze was strange; her expression was gentle, but her eyes were cold. She didn't deliberately look at Xiao Minxing but occasionally glanced over at Old Master Xiao.
I wasn't interested in these two at all, so from the moment I saw them walk in, I thought about slipping away to avoid the storm.
Feeling a bit frustrated inside, I realized that I must have been having a bad streak lately; wherever I went, there seemed to be conflict. I had hoped that leaving the studio would be better, but unexpectedly, this place was also in turmoil.
I had just taken a step away from the table when Xiao Minxing said, "Qiu Yuhan, the documents in your hand are very important and must be processed within half an hour, so it's best not to run around."
I realized that it wasn't the documents that were important; it was that this Good Fellow didn't want me to go out at all.
Old Master Xiao's expression clearly darkened upon hearing this, and he glanced over here, saying, "Are we now handing over the business work to an outsider? What position does she hold in the company?"
A mysterious smile appeared on Xiao Minxing's face as he fixed his gaze on his father and said, "She's not an outsider; she's my wife. If I ever do hand over Zhi Xing Company, she will definitely be the one to take over."
Old Master Xiao nearly choked on his words, his face turning pale with anger.
In his eyes, I had always been an incompetent outsider. He was eager to drive me away, but now he couldn't control Xiao Minxing, and he placed great importance on me.
Mrs. Xiao quietly helped him sit down on the sofa beside him, her gaze lowered. She neither looked at me and Xiao Minxing nor at Old Master Xiao.
The air conditioning in the room was already set to a cold temperature, and with the arrival of these two people, it felt almost icy. I seriously wanted to find a blanket to wrap myself in.
However, Xiao Minxing remained calm. He didn't even stand up or put down the documents in his hand; he merely glanced at the two of them before lowering his head to look at what he was holding.
My heart raced as I nervously glanced from one person to another, finally settling my gaze on Mrs. Xiao.
At this moment, she appeared much more relaxed than when she entered. Her eyes were slanted sideways under her eyelids, piercing Old Master Xiao with a subtle smile playing at the corners of her mouth.
