"If you want to live, then shut up. Don't remember what you know, and don't recall what you've heard." 0

The cold moon hung high in the sky, and even the Bodhisattva in the temple seemed to shiver. The faded red cloth fell from the Bodhisattva's body, revealing a pale face under the cold white moonlight. 0

Xing Ruyi turned over, wrapping her arms tightly around the warm body of the fox. Her sleep-heavy eyes were half-open as she mumbled indistinctly, "I was dreaming." 0

The fox gently patted her shoulder, remaining silent. 0

"Hey, I had a dream, and it was a nightmare—a very scary nightmare." Seeing that the fox had no reaction, Xing Ruyi instantly lost her drowsiness. She climbed out of bed and poked the fox's chest with her right hand. "You dead fox, Stinky Fox, you don't even know how to comfort someone at this time. Do you know how terrifying it is to have a nightmare?" 0

The fox grabbed her hand and placed a finger on his lips, softly shushing her. 0

The room fell silent in an instant; the cold wind swirled leaves around the courtyard, and the sound of hard-soled shoes crunching on spring snow echoed. Just as Xing Ruyi was about to get up to take a look, she was pulled into a tight embrace by the fox. A dark shadow flashed outside the window, and she heard the sound of a baby crying. 0

Opening the door, candlelight mingled with moonlight and snowlight. In the shadow behind the door lay a baby wrapped in blue cloth, with delicate features. Upon seeing Xing Ruyi, he began to giggle. 0

"What kind of trick is this in the middle of the night?" Xing Ruyi glanced at the baby in her arms and quickly handed him over to the fox before rushing out. 0

She crossed through the main street and entered a deserted alley where she was suddenly pulled down by a figure in black who leaped from above. 0

"Axing, what kind of nonsense are you up to at this hour?" 0

"Hehe?" 0

The figure in black chuckled softly and looked up, revealing a stranger's face. 0

"Sorry, I mistook you for someone else." Xing Ruyi smiled awkwardly and released her grip on the figure's collar. 0

"Mistakes can happen with people, but don’t take a wrong turn on your path. Young lady, it's dark and windy; it's better to head home early." The figure chuckled again and flicked his sleeve before disappearing at the other end of the alley. 0

"Why do I keep running into strange people lately?" Xing Ruyi frowned and turned around only to find Axing standing motionless behind her. 0

"Whoa~" Letting out a breath, Xing Ruyi rolled her eyes and patted her chest. "You reckless Axing! Are you trying to scare me to death?" 0

"Sorry!" Axing lowered his head with a sorrowful expression. 0

Xing Ruyi originally wanted to vent a bit more, but upon seeing his expression, the anger dissipated. 0

"What do you mean by leaving that thing at the entrance of Ruyi Workshop?" 0

"That was Qingluan's intention." 0

"Qingluan? Didn't she return to the Liu family?" 0

"She died!" Ah Xing's eyes were red, and his incomplete left hand was clenched into a fist. 0

Xing Ruyi had intended to ask how Qingluan died, but seeing Ah Xing's state, the words stuck in her throat. The Demonic Fetus was not an ordinary child, and considering that Qingluan was carrying a Demonic Fetus on the verge of becoming a demon, the resentment alone was enough to harm a mortal's vitality. Moreover, Qingluan had been disturbed by the Heart Demon, and it was clear she was destined to die; it was only a matter of time before she left. 0

As for this Demonic Fetus, Xing Ruyi originally intended to return it to Ah Xing, but looking at him now, with darkened features and devoid of life, it seemed he wouldn't last much longer. 0

"I can temporarily help you take care of it. As for the resentment and demonic nature it carries, I might be able to find a Method to resolve it. There's an old saying: 'Those who are close to vermilion become red, those who are close to ink become black.' Good and evil complement each other; if guided properly, it might just become an ordinary child. But you need to take good care of yourself." 0

"Thank you!" Ah Xing performed a deep bow, looked up with a slight smile at Xing Ruyi, and turned to leave. 0

For some reason, Xing Ruyi felt a chill. She crossed her arms and slowly walked toward Ruyi Workshop. 0

"What's wrong?" 0

Looking up, she saw the fox with gentle, beautiful eyes. Then she glanced at the little one in his arms, who was staring back with big, shiny eyes and an innocent smile. If it weren't for the way he looked at her, she might have truly felt overwhelmed with affection and thought of him as an innocent baby. 0

"Are you feeling proud now?" Thinking of Ah Xing's expression when he left, Xing Ruyi couldn't help but pinch the little one's cheek. 0

"Fox Demon." The fox held her hand. "He's still just a child." 0

Xing Ruyi pouted in jealousy and loosened her grip on the little one’s hand. "How is he like a child? Would a child have such complex and sinister eyes?" 0

"His eyes seem sinister perhaps because you see them that way," the fox sighed lightly and led Xing Ruyi home. "The Demonic Fetus is born from wicked thoughts and emotions; its belly swells as if carrying a child. How could it possibly be connected with ghosts or deities? It is formed from one's own vitality. Fox Demon, this child is actually a gift you gave to Qingluan." 0

"What?" Xing Ruyi stopped in shock, staring at the fox. "What do you mean this child is something I gave to Qingluan? I'm not some goddess of childbirth." 0

"Do you remember the medicine you gave to Lady Liu?" The fox's expression turned serious. "There's an old saying among mortals: 'What one thinks during the day will manifest in dreams at night.' Qingluan became possessed due to her past grievances. Her dream was not caused by her sister-in-law but by her own Heart Demon, which transformed into this fetus. The medicine you gave Lady Liu wasn't wrong; it just inadvertently provided an opportunity for the demonic fetus to manifest as a physical one. This child's existence is ultimately due to its mother's mistakes; do you understand?" 0

Xing Ruyi seemed to understand but was still puzzled. Seeing the fox's gentle gaze, she couldn't help but nod. 0

After a long while, when she returned to the bed, Xing Ruyi finally grasped the situation and grabbed the fox's arm, asking, "So according to you, this child is originally the offspring of Qing Luan and her husband?" 0

"You!" The fox smiled indulgently, lightly tapping Xing Ruyi's nose with her right index finger. "I thought you had figured it out long ago; it seems you're just now catching on." 0

"Hmph! Do you think everyone is as clever as you? I'm just an ordinary mortal, unlike you, a fox spirit." Xing Ruyi wrinkled her nose and lowered her head to tease the child. "So what should we do now? Should we return this child to the Liu family? They must be shocked to suddenly have such a big grandson." 0

"We will return him, but not right now." The fox also lowered her head, gently touching the child's lips with her finger. "He is not an ordinary child. If we send him back now, it might harm the Liu family." 0

"We can't throw him away or send him back. It seems we can only keep him and raise him as our son." Xing Ruyi nudged the fox's shoulder. "How about we give him a name? We can't just keep calling him 'the child' or 'the little one.'" 0

"Mm." The fox furrowed her brow slightly, lost in thought as she looked at the child's shiny black eyes. 0

"He was born from Qing Luan's dream, so how about we call him Yin Mengsheng? What do you think?" Xing Ruyi shook the fox's arm but noticed that the child pouted his lips, clearly not fond of that name. 0

"It seems he doesn't like it very much." The fox smiled slightly and smoothed out the child's puckered lips with her finger. 0

"When it comes to naming, it doesn't matter whether one likes it or not. Look at me; my name is Xing Ruyi, and I didn't object to it, did I?" Xing Ruyi pouted. "Since you think Yin Mengsheng isn't good, let's call him Yin Yuan. It sounds like 'fate' and 'source,' and it also means 'silver dollar,' which has both significance and depth." 0
