Li Nan had never seen such a terrifying grandmother. In his memory, although she was not good with words, her face was kind and her eyes filled with love. Now, while her face still resembled what he remembered, her gaze was frightening and filled with fear.

Finally, he spotted the lamp—the one that Li Mao had held to guide him.
"Mother, this way!"
Li Nan dragged his mother toward the light as they ran quickly, while behind them, his grandmother pursued like a crazed beast, swinging her cane relentlessly.
It was a long road; despite giving it his all, Li Nan could not reach the end. Just when he was about to feel hopeless, he heard Safflower's voice—not from behind but ahead.
"Husband! This way! It's this way!"

Li Nan kept telling himself in his heart, then lowered his head, closed his eyes, and dragged his mother as they ran wildly.
Ruyi Rouge stood by the bed, holding her daughter's hand. On the bed lay two people side by side: Ruyi's former mother-in-law and her ex-husband. “Ah! Child abuse! I wonder if Uncle Chang and his Yamen will do anything about this!” Yin Yuan helplessly rubbed his forehead but walked over to the bed, reaching out to gently pat both Li Nan and his mother on their foreheads.
As Li Nan was running, he suddenly felt a gust of cold wind rush at him, causing him and his Mother to tumble over. When he opened his eyes, he found his grandmother in funeral clothes had caught up with them, and behind her was his father with a dark face.

The grandmother's mouth was about to bite down on his mother's head. Li Nan panicked and glanced at his mother before closing his eyes and quickly dragging her over. His grandmother's mouth clamped down on his arm, and he heard the sound of his bones breaking.
Taking advantage of his grandmother's momentary daze, Li Nan gritted his teeth through the pain and used one hand to support his mother up before stumbling forward.
The light grew brighter and larger; through the light, Li Nan saw Xing's furnishings. He pushed his mother hard and then fell to the ground himself, rolling toward the light without caring about his image.
