Xing Ruyi's mind conjured an image of Luo Fu. Although there was some resentment surrounding her, such an aura could be found in varying degrees among ordinary mortals. "What does my wife want as compensation?"

"What kind of compensation does my husband want to give the Fox Demon? Or can my husband provide whatever compensation the Fox Demon desires?"

"Except what?"
"Except for my wife wanting my husband to consummate the marriage with you!"
The fox lowered its head and brought its soft lips close to Xing Ruyi's ear. The warm breath slipped into Xing Ruyi's ear, making her heart flutter even more. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself on the bed with the Fox leaning over her, gently rubbing her swollen cherry lips with his fingertip. “Fox Demon, I can't wait any longer. Once the new year comes and you're feeling better, let’s get married here in Yun Family!”
Xing Ruyi blushed and nodded quickly before pulling the quilt over herself to hide.
“Yin Chensi, remember what you just said; no backing out and no playing tricks!”
The Fox chuckled in disbelief: “Alright! No backing out and no tricks! You should sleep for a while; we’ll prepare dinner when Deer Lady returns. You know her cooking is much better than yours.”
“Yin Chensi! Stinky Fox! At such an ambiguous moment, you're still hitting me with reality checks. Is this how husbands from Qingqiu behave? Do you believe that if one day Deer Lady isn’t around, I’ll make you cook?”
Xing Ruyi huffed as she pulled down the quilt, revealing her head, but was caught off guard as the Fox stole another kiss.
“Cooking? I don’t mind that at all. What I do mind is your shoes. Promise me that this issue of losing shoes is only directed at me.” The Fox pointed at Xing Ruyi's feet. “Do you remember what we talked about in Luoyang? Shoes from your maternal family cannot be given away casually!”
"Got it!" Xing Ruyi pushed the fox, "Hurry up and come back, I'll be waiting for you!"
The fox transformed into a wisp of white smoke and disappeared from the bedroom. Xing Ruyi hugged her legs and stared blankly at the vanishing smoke.
In the outskirts, Deer Lady finally caught up with the Pixiu that had transformed into an Old Beggar. When she reached out to grab the Pixiu's clothing, the Pixiu instinctively dodged. As it turned, it caught a glimpse of Deer Lady losing her balance, about to fall forward, and a long arm pulled her back.
Their eyes met; Deer Lady's gaze held a hint of resentment, while the Pixiu looked as if it wanted to evade and wished to disappear from Deer Lady's sight immediately.
"You old thing, finally willing to show yourself? You must have had a hard time hiding from me all these years."
Seeing that Deer Lady was unharmed, the Pixiu reluctantly released its grip.
"How have you been all these years?"
"Thanks to you, I've been doing well!" Deer Lady shot a resentful glare at the Pixiu. "If it weren't for your hasty escape back then, I wouldn't have known that the being I encountered was actually the legendary beast Pixiu."
"I—" The Pixiu's voice faltered as it avoided Deer Lady's gaze. "I didn't mean to hide it from you."
"Whether intentional or not, it doesn't matter to me. I'm here today not because I have any feelings for you, old thing, but to reclaim what you took from me." Deer Lady said as she reached for the Pixiu's heart. "Old thing, return my heart to me!"
