"Dad, luck is also part of strength. You can't deny Mr. Jiang's abilities. Anyway, today Mr. Jiang is my guest, and I need to have lunch with him. I'm sorry about Uncle Hu; please go tell him that once I return from Southwest Province, I'll definitely visit Uncle Hu and Brother Hu Yuan personally," Yue Hui said, trying to usher her father away as she knew he was still brooding over their failure to acquire that raw stone.
"Let your secretary take him out for lunch; you’re coming with me to see Uncle Hu," Yue Zetian insisted, pulling Yue Hui along without giving her a chance to argue.
In Yue Zetian's eyes, Jiang Chen was naturally less important than Hu Sanxiong.
Yue Hui wanted to see Hu Yuan, but since Jiang Chen was her guest, she couldn't leave him unattended—that would be a major faux pas in business.
"Miss Yue, you go ahead with your plans; I'll wait here for you. Just don't delay your departure," Jiang Chen said with a faint smile.
"Then I'm really sorry today; I'll have my secretary take you out for lunch." With Jiang Chen saying this, Yue Hui found an opportunity to back down as her father pressed her further, so she had no choice but to compromise.
Yue Hui instructed her secretary and then left with her father to meet Hu Sanxiong.
Jiang Chen didn't mind; he had come to see Yue Hui primarily regarding the Spirit Stone Mine in Myanmar.
"Xiaohui, try not to get too close to that kid; he's our competitor. If he’s getting close to you, I suspect he has ulterior motives..." Yue Zetian's voice carried over from a distance, reaching Jiang Chen's ears despite the separation.
"Dad, enough! I know what I'm doing. Mr. Jiang is a genius; we must recruit him if we can," Yue Hui replied firmly. She was unaware that Jiang Chen was actually the chairman and thought he was merely an advisor for the Qin family.
After Yue Hui left, Jiang Chen remained alone in her office, sipping tea.
Around eleven-thirty, Yue Hui's secretary took Jiang Chen out for lunch. Afterward, he rested in Yue Hui's office for a bit. Around two o'clock, when Yue Hui returned, she was accompanied by a handsome young man.
This young man stood about six feet tall with striking features and an upright posture that radiated a calm aura as he walked.
"Brother Hu Yuan, you should head back now. Once I return from Southwest Province on my business trip, I'll come find you," Yue Hui said at the office door without intending to let Hu Yuan enter since Jiang Chen was still inside; she didn't want any misunderstandings.
To be honest, Yue Hui had liked Hu Yuan since childhood. After all, he practiced martial arts and had an aura different from his peers that gave her a sense of security—it's no surprise that any girl would have feelings for someone like Hu Yuan.
Since Hu Yuan went overseas to study swordsmanship, it had been years since she last saw him. She thought she could move on but found herself captivated again by his improved demeanor today.
At the lunch table earlier that day, both Hu Sanxiong and Yue Zetian seemed eager to matchmake Hu Yuan and Yue Hui, which made her blush with shyness.
"Since I'm already here, why not invite me into your office for a chat?" Hu Yuan smiled.
"Alright then, but I have to leave for the airport soon," Yue Hui relented and allowed Hu Yuan into the office.
As Hu Yuan walked in, he immediately spotted Jiang Chen, his expression darkening slightly.
"Brother Hu Yuan, this is Mr. Jiang. He is a genius in jade and will be accompanying me to Southwest Province to purchase Jadeite Raw Stone," Yue Hui quickly introduced.
Hu Yuan displayed a look of disdain, glancing sideways at Jiang Chen before saying coolly, "You should step outside for a moment; I need to speak with Xiao Hui."
Jiang Chen seemed not to hear him, ignoring his request entirely.
Seeing Hu Yuan's poor attitude towards Jiang Chen, Yue Hui felt oddly pleased rather than angry. This indicated that Hu Yuan had feelings for her; otherwise, he wouldn't have lost his composure at the sight of another man in his office.
"Brother Hu Yuan, whatever you need to discuss can wait until I return. We only have an hour before the flight departs, and I need to head to the airport," Yue Hui said, her tone slightly anxious as she checked the time.
"Alright then, I'll take you to the airport," Hu Yuan replied, his tone softening.
"No need for that; you should go rest. We'll meet again when I come back," Yue Hui smiled brightly.
"Okay," Hu Yuan said without further comment.
For her trip to Southwest Province, Yue Hui had brought along an assistant and two bodyguards but had not taken a jade consultant with her, as she considered Jiang Chen to fill that role.
"I'm sorry about Brother Hu Yuan's attitude earlier!" Yue Hui apologized from the backseat of the Bentley.
"He doesn't concern me; his attitude is irrelevant," Jiang Chen replied coolly.
Yue Hui chuckled awkwardly, "Mr. Jiang, you really shouldn't mind! He feels a bit jealous seeing us together."
"Oh? So it seems Miss Yue has feelings for him?" Jiang Chen teased lightly.
"To be honest with you, Mr. Jiang, Brother Hu Yuan and I grew up together; I do have feelings for him. He is a master of swordsmanship and has returned to Huaxia to challenge the strongest in Huaxia Swordsmanship. He mentioned that there will be a Martial Arts Grand Assembly in Songnan City this October where he plans to take on the best with just one sword. How impressive is that?" Yue Hui's eyes sparkled with admiration.
Songnan City lies in the heart of Huaxia Nation and is known as a hub for martial arts. It was not unusual for such an event to be held there. Upon hearing this news, Jiang Chen felt a stir of interest; he should definitely check it out when the time comes!
"Huaxia Martial Arts has a long history and is filled with hidden talents. Even if he has some skill in swordsmanship, challenging the best in Huaxia Swordsmanship with just one sword might be wishful thinking," Jiang Chen chuckled softly, aware that Miss Yue viewed him merely as an ordinary person with talent in jade.
