She simply couldn't understand how this ugly and useless Yun Jiu dared to have thoughts about her brother. It was like a toad dreaming of eating swan meat—utterly delusional!
Upon hearing this, Yun Jiu didn't even spare Bai Morou a glance. She merely replied indifferently, "I’m done eating, so I will leave naturally. But I haven’t finished yet." With that, she picked up a piece of tender fish and savored it, her face displaying an exaggerated expression of enjoyment as if she were indulging in some heavenly delicacy.
Seeing this, Bai Morou was infuriated! When had she ever been treated like this? Just as she was about to confront Yun Jiu, Bai Moyu shot her a look that stopped her in her tracks. Frowning, Bai Moyu approached Yun Jiu, his tone laced with annoyance. "Xiao Jiu, stop messing around! This isn’t a place for your antics; leave immediately, or else..."
"Or else what?" Yun Jiu lifted her head, her clear eyes filled with mockery. "Bai Moyu, who do you think you are to order me around? Only my family can call me by my nickname. What are you? From now on, please call me Yun Jiu, or Miss Yun, or even Fairy Yun works!"
The crowd couldn't help but twitch their lips at Yun Jiu's words. Fairy Yun? That title was utterly shameless! With her appearance resembling that of a black ball of charcoal, how could she possibly be worthy of such a title?
Bai Moyu was taken aback; he clearly hadn't expected Yun Jiu to speak to him like this. It must have been yesterday's incident that upset her. So he softened his tone, his eyes showing a hint of affection. "Xiao Jiu, don’t throw a tantrum; this isn’t the place for your nonsense. I’ll come see you another day, okay?"
As soon as Bai Moyu finished speaking, Yun Jiu suddenly began to gag dramatically on the floor. "Oh heavens! This is disgusting! Bai Moyu, please keep your distance when you're flirting with others! You scumbag!"
Bai Moyu froze! Bai Morou froze! Everyone in the room froze! Was this Yun Jiu out of her mind? Hadn't she always been infatuated with Bai Moyu? What was going on today? Time and again she was hurling insults at him?
Bai Morou was the first to snap back to reality. She screamed and lunged at Yun Jiu. "Yun Jiu, you worthless piece of trash! You ugly freak! Who was it that clung to my brother like a leech? My brother is soft-hearted and took pity on your miserable background by caring for you. I never expected you to repay his kindness with insults! You truly are an ungrateful wolf!"
This time, Bai Moyu did not stop Bai Morou's reckless actions; he thought it was time to teach Yun Jiu a lesson about respect. However, Yun Jiu looked at Bai Morou as if she were an idiot before suddenly jumping onto the chair.
Bai Morou took a step back in shock. The crowd looked on curiously at Yun Jiu—was she really losing her mind?!
With a serious expression on her small face, Yun Jiu coldly declared, "Everyone, today I, Yun Jiu, would like to officially announce something."
Bai Moyu felt an unsettling premonition in his heart for some unknown reason.
"This insidious and despicable Bai Moyu, in order to achieve his ulterior motives, has used schemes and tricks to deceive me. I was young and naive, and I fell into his trap, doing many things that wronged the Yun Family." As she spoke, Yun Jiu's eyes turned red, and tears streamed down her face. She wiped her tears with her sleeve, displaying a stubborn yet enduring demeanor. "Although I, Yun Jiu, am young, I understand the principle of acknowledging one's mistakes and correcting them. The Yun Family has raised me, yet I have repaid their kindness with malice. I feel deeply remorseful and regretful."
The crowd was in an uproar after hearing Yun Jiu's words; they had not expected this seemingly inconspicuous girl to speak such profound statements. Meanwhile, Bai Moyu's expression darkened; he had not anticipated that Yun Jiu would expose his crimes in front of everyone.
Yun Jiu continued, "I have decided to turn over a new leaf from now on! From this day forward, Bai Moyu will only be my enemy; I will never stand with him!" With that, she jumped off her chair and ran out of the Gathering of Immortals Pavilion, leaving the crowd in stunned silence.
