The Fourth Elder looked at Yun Jiu with a puzzled expression. "Xiao Jiu, do you have a problem?"
Huh?
Yun Jiu was bewildered; what was going on?
Yun Ji curled her lip in disdain. "Fourth Elder, this Yun Jiu is nothing but a waste. She can't cultivate, and on top of that, she's always causing trouble. What kind of problem could she possibly have?!" Her words dripped with sarcasm, as if she were speaking of an insignificant insect.
Upon hearing this, the Fourth Elder snorted in displeasure. Although he didn't think highly of Yun Jiu either, Yun Ji's attitude still irked him. Noticing his reaction, Yun Ji awkwardly fell silent, but her dissatisfaction only grew stronger as she shot a glare at Yun Jiu.
Yun Jiu shrugged innocently. Am I to blame? You brought this upon yourself! She silently grumbled in her heart but dared not voice it.
"Since you don't have any problems, just rest well," the Fourth Elder intended to say "cultivate," but remembering that Yun Jiu couldn't cultivate, he awkwardly changed "cultivate" to "rest."
However, Yun Jiu seemed oblivious to this detail. She raised her little black paw and asked curiously, "Fourth Elder, I have a question. Besides the five elements of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth, are there any other elements?"
The Fourth Elder frowned as he looked at Yun Jiu's curious eyes. He couldn't help but think how could this child not know such a basic question? Truly uneducated! Nevertheless, he patiently replied, "No."
As soon as he finished speaking, two disdainful snickers echoed around them. Yun Jiu didn't need to look to know that one laugh came from Yun Ji and the other from that little brat Yun Hai. She scoffed internally but ignored them.
Yun Jiu fell into deep thought. She had absorbed dozens of purple light dots; those dots surely weren't one of the five elements. So what exactly were they?
Unable to figure it out, Yun Jiu simply crossed her legs and closed her eyes to begin feeling the surrounding Spiritual Energy. To others, she appeared to be sleeping. The Fourth Elder shook his head and sighed inwardly; this child was destined to be useless in this lifetime.
Two hours later, the Fourth Elder announced that today's cultivation class was over. He strode out, leaving everyone to disperse on their own. Yun Jiu stretched lazily, rubbed her eyes, and then clung to Yun Xiaowu's arm. "Fifth Sister, let's go! I'm coming over for dinner at your place tonight!"
Yun Jiu shot a resentful glare at Yun Hai. "Yun Jiu, what trouble are you up to again? Go eat in your own courtyard!" Her words were filled with caution and hostility.
Yun Jiu rolled her eyes, ignoring the unlikable little brat. Just as she was about to speak, Butler Ji rushed over in a flurry. "Miss Jiu, the master wants you at the front gate! The Bai Family has arrived!"
Yun Jiu's eyes lit up, and she released Yun Xiaowu's arm, dashing outside. As she ran, she excitedly exclaimed, "Butler Ji, come with me!" With that, she scampered away, tugging at Butler Ji's sleeve like a gust of wind.
Watching Yun Jiu's retreating figure, Yun Ji remarked sarcastically, "Tsk tsk, as soon as Xiao Jiu hears the Bai Family is here, she abandons you, Fifth Sister. I really feel sorry for you!" Her tone was laced with provocation.
However, Yun Xiaowu merely glanced at her indifferently. "We're all sisters; there's no need to feel sorry." With that, she turned and left, leaving Yun Ji standing there in indignation.
Meanwhile, Yun Hai clenched his small fist and declared resolutely, "Sister, I told you Yun Jiu never changes! I'm going to see what trouble she's causing this time!" He hurriedly ran out after her. Seeing this, the others quickly followed suit, and soon the entrance was bustling with activity.
Butler Ji watched the lively Yun Jiu beside him and couldn't help but feel puzzled. How could Miss Jiu be so fast? Her speed should be comparable to someone at the third level of Refining Spirit. But Miss Jiu clearly couldn't cultivate! How was this possible? He shook his head in disbelief.
Yet Yun Jiu seemed oblivious to his confusion as she continued to run ahead with enthusiasm. When they reached the front gate, the two guards spotted her and hurried over to curry favor. "Miss Jiu! You're here!"
"Miss Jiu! Do you need us to drive them away? Just say the word and we'll take action immediately!" Their words were filled with flattery and eagerness.
However, Yun Jiu appeared not to hear them as she walked straight ahead. Her gaze was fixed intently on a familiar figure in the distance—Bai Moyu.
