Xia Xiaoyu sat on her bed, feeling a mix of amusement and frustration. Each dorm room was different, but they all cared about each other.
She glanced at the Quartz Clock on the wall; it was almost ten o'clock at night.
Now was not the time for overthinking; the only thing to do was to conserve energy and focus on her responsibilities.
Suddenly, Tang Jiaying burst into laughter again, clearly having seen something funny.
Xia Xiaoyu couldn't help but think of her as somewhat like a mental health patient due to this behavior.
Sometimes, she felt an urge to throw Tang Jiaying's phone away; this thought had crossed the minds of everyone in the All Dormitory.
However, unlike those who genuinely needed their phones, Tang Jiaying could easily buy a new one if she lost it.
Meanwhile, Liu Feifei and Chen Mumu shared a common interest and had moved to Chen Mumu's bed to watch a drama together.
"Jia Ying, be quiet! It's late; be careful not to disturb others!" Xia Xiaoyu had to remind this girl who ignored everyone else's feelings.
But before she could finish her sentence, the lights in the dorm flickered with a spark and went out...
Darkness enveloped the entire dormitory.
"Dammit, that bastard turned off the power, does he want to die..." Tang Jiaying casually uttered a line typical of a second-rate character.
In the darkness, no one could see anyone else's shadow.
Xia Xiaoyu suddenly felt her heart race; the darkness was too terrifying, and she really didn't want to be engulfed by it. It represented the unknown and fear.
"It might be a faulty switch..." Liu Feifei, who was at Chen Mumu's bed, casually remarked in the dark.
The switch in this dormitory had some issues; it often flipped down automatically, turning off the lights. What did that feel like?

The entire dormitory was suddenly filled with her scream, causing everyone's hearts to tighten. The closest to the switch, Tian Xiaojing, hurriedly turned on the lights.
Finally, a small incandescent bulb burst forth with reassuring brightness, instantly dispelling the darkness.
At the same time, everyone looked towards Liu Feifei.
She squatted in the middle of the hallway, trembling uncontrollably.

They all looked at Liu Feifei with worried expressions.

"Could it be Xiao Xi's spirit, or Su Ran's spirit returning..." Chen Mumu, being a local, believed in superstitions common in the city—that the souls of the deceased could return and take away things they didn't have while alive at night.
They referred to it as the Night of the Returning Souls!
