Now, the only thing Xia Xiaoyu needs to do is to take the initiative and find out the doubts surrounding the entire situation.
However, she wasn't thinking about the people from All Dormitory, but rather Xu Qian's friend.
Ever since they came out of the Ghost Barrier, Xia Xiaoyu kept thinking about that cool guy with light blue hair.
She couldn't forget how she, Lin Xi, and Xu Qian were trapped in the Ghost Barrier, but when he appeared, he merely tapped the air lightly and kept muttering under his breath. In the end, they managed to escape.
He was not simple; Xia Xiaoyu understood this well.
Whether it was his ability to deduce her circumstances or his innate fearlessness, even his aloofness clearly indicated to Xia Xiaoyu that he was not an ordinary person.
But then again, could an ordinary person achieve such feats? Moreover, Xu Qian had mentioned that he was someone who traversed the Yin-Yang Realms.
Although it didn't quite match her expectations, he proved with his strength that he was not just a facade.
He had the capability to do things that ordinary people could not...
Exorcising ghosts...
Was that one of his instincts?
Xia Xiaoyu kept pondering these thoughts. Since he was now her only lifeline, she needed to find a way to seize this opportunity.
So, she planned to find him in person.
Early the next morning, Xia Xiaoyu woke up unusually early, just as dawn was breaking. She wouldn't have gotten up so early if it weren't for an urgent matter.
This was a life-and-death situation, and she couldn't afford to delay.
She had already agreed on a meeting place with Xu Qian. Although she was initially reluctant to ask her friend for help at this hour, it no longer mattered.
Who knew what terrifying things lay ahead? Sometimes, one couldn't let pride get in the way of courtesy.
The meeting place was still the same old spot, the restaurant they had visited last time. Since Xu Qian was busy with work, she chose a time when he hadn’t gone to work yet, so it wouldn’t interfere with his job and he could have breakfast there.
At this time of day, especially since the university wasn't located in the city center, it was quite troublesome to get a taxi. She waited for more than ten minutes before finally getting one.
When she arrived at the restaurant, there were very few people. In a corner of the restaurant, Xu Qian was quietly sitting there. It seemed he had been waiting for a while.
Xia Xiaoyu walked over and smiled apologetically, "Sorry, sorry! The transportation around the university is inconvenient; I made you wait..."
Xu Qian still had that elegant demeanor. The last time they met after coming out of the Ghost Barrier during the holidays, Xia Xiaoyu had also been there, but by then his injuries had already healed.
However, recalling Xu Qian's actions inside the Ghost Barrier made Xia Xiaoyu feel a pang of guilt; if she hadn't been so willful, he wouldn't have nearly lost his life.
She didn't have any special feelings for Xu Qian—just good friends. After that incident, Xia Xiaoyu became even more certain that their friendship was one forged through life and death.
She would always remember that in her life, there was a friend who would risk his life for her.
"Don't be so formal, just sit down."
Xu Qian smiled calmly and then turned to order a glass of juice.
At this early hour, many restaurants are not open, but this one has staff on rotating shifts, so the hours are quite long.
"How is your health now?"
Although it was clear that Xu Qian looked fine, Xia Xiaoyu still asked, as it was something she had caused in the first place.
"I'm fine now." Xu Qian shook his glass and looked at Xia Xiaoyu with a teasing smile. "Alright, let's skip the small talk. You came to see me because you have something to discuss, right?"
Caught off guard by Xu Qian's straightforwardness, Xia Xiaoyu felt a bit embarrassed. However, she quickly thought it over; it wasn't a big deal since he probably already knew she had something on her mind when she came.
"Yes." Xia Xiaoyu nodded, glanced around, and then continued, "I encountered something strange again..."
Xia Xiaoyu spoke briefly but covered all the key points of her experiences, including Lin Xi's death and the deaths of several other students, along with her own encounters.
Xu Qian's expression tightened as he listened to Xia Xiaoyu's description. Even after she finished speaking, he remained in deep thought.
"I actually learned about that girl's death after I returned; there was no way to save her..." Xu Qian said flatly. "Her Fate Line was already severed. When we went in to save her last time, it was already destined. However, you mentioned that similar deaths are happening elsewhere with the same symptoms, all occurring on Wednesdays. This part I can't quite understand..."
