Another morning arrived, accompanied by a hint of cold wind that swept over the mountains and drifted toward the horizon. The sky had not yet fully brightened.
Before dawn, on the mountaintop behind the University, Xia Xiaoyu sat atop a large stone, her pale and weary face showing signs of exhaustion. She quietly gazed at the gradually brightening mountains in the distance.
The chill emanating from the stone went unnoticed by her; her gaze remained fixed on the direction of the mountains at the edge of the sky.
Beside Xia Xiaoyu, the dazed pink Pinky Panther sat quietly, keeping her company as if they were two friends watching the most beautiful sunrise together.
The horizon began to gather into large patches of red clouds, beautiful and warm.
Xia Xiaoyu watched this scene, a faint smile appearing on her pale face. She turned to look at the pink Pinky Panther beside her.
“Wood, look quickly! The Sun is coming up!”
Xia Xiaoyu continued to gaze at the horizon, smiling as she looked at the Pinky Panther still sitting beside her.
No one answered her call.
The red clouds grew more vibrant, and just before dawn, a ray of light began to shine forth. Slowly, a fiery red Sun emerged from the mountaintop.
“It’s so beautiful!”
Xia Xiaoyu smiled as she turned her head, but looked at the side where Pinky Panther was, like a puppet, devoid of any vitality.
"You said you would accompany me to watch the most beautiful sunrise, right? Please don’t hide away, you promised..."
She spoke, tears streaming down her face.
Yet Pinky Panther remained quietly gazing at the horizon, where the fiery sun was rising.
At that moment, there was no one to provide her with support or a warm embrace.
Tears continued to flow; Xia Xiaoyu felt a heartache she had never experienced before. She wanted to cry, to vent all the grievances she held inside at once.
She looked towards the rising Sun and finally voiced her feelings aloud.
"Wood, Xiaoyu misses you."
The morning sun bloomed with stunning beauty, like a blossoming red lotus, staining the white clouds in the sky.
The azure sky was adorned with wispy white clouds. Xia Xiaoyu quietly watched as tears continued to spill over, but in the emerald sky, a face reflected back at her.
He still looked so honest, wearing a silly expression as he smiled at her foolishly. He smiled joyfully and sincerely.
Xia Xiaoyu gazed at that silhouette and after a long while, she stopped crying and quietly watched him.
A long time ago, she looked at him and smiled.
I'm sorry, I lost track of time while chatting. I'll make it up to you; the next chapter will be out shortly. I promise to finish the story today. This chapter is a bit short, but I had to split it here, so I apologize for that. The story will conclude at nine o'clock, and I hope everyone can read and support it more. I've had less time to work these past couple of days, so I've dedicated more time to writing. Although the updates have been slow, I assure you that I've done my best. I hope you can understand and be patient with me. Besides half an hour of chatting for entertainment each day, I've spent all my free time on writing. Time is limited, but I'm doing my best. Enough of the small talk; please don't worry. The story will definitely be completed tonight, so you can read with peace of mind.
