In the following days, Han Weiting began to act strangely. He no longer came to see me every day, and even his diary entries became shorter and shorter.
" Lin Nuannuan still ignores me. She’s too lazy to even write in her diary. It seems she really hates me."
"I don’t know what to do; it feels like no matter what I do, I can’t earn her forgiveness."
"My heart hurts so much. Just thinking about how much she dislikes me makes me wish I could disappear."
When I read these diary entries, my heart was filled with mixed emotions. It turned out that Han Weiting could feel so helpless; I had once thought he was invincible.
That night, I woke up in the middle of the night and found Han Weiting in my hospital room. He had sneaked in like a thief just to peek at my sleeping face.
"Han Weiting, what are you doing?" I looked at him tiptoeing around and felt a bit speechless.
"Ah, caught!" Han Weiting awkwardly rubbed his nose. "I just missed you, so I came to check on you."
"Miss me?" I couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time. "You miss me so much that you sneak in at midnight?"
"I know you hate me, so I had to approach you this way," Han Weiting said somewhat aggrievedly.
"Do you know that doing this will only make me hate you more?" I said with a deliberately stern face.
"I know," Han Weiting lowered his head like a child who had done something wrong. "But I just can't control myself. I want to see you, hear you talk, and hug you."
A wave of sweetness washed over my heart, but I pretended not to care on the outside. "Then keep sneaking around."
After saying that, I turned over and pretended to sleep.
I heard Han Weiting chuckle softly behind me. "Okay, I will."
In the middle of the night, I quietly approached Han Weiting's bed and silently observed him. He didn’t mind; he just shrugged as if he thought I hated him and said nonchalantly, "It's fine; I'm used to it."
"Anyway, your dislike for me isn’t something new."
" Lin Nuannuan, I don’t expect you to forgive me right away, but I will prove over time that I really…" He suddenly paused, feeling a bit shy as he scratched his head. "I really want to make it up to you."
I looked at him, feeling a pang of bitterness in my heart.
Actually, I have always known that Han Weiting wants to make it up to me, to atone for the mistakes he once made.
However, some things cannot be repaired just because he wants to.
I am well aware that Han Weiting is the only person in this world willing to give everything for me, but I cannot deny that I used to really dislike him.
But now...
I looked at Han Weiting's sleeping face and suddenly couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Han Weiting was startled awake, looking at me with a confused expression. "What’s wrong?"
I suppressed my laughter and said, "Nothing, I just wanted to come and see you."
Han Weiting paused for a moment, then his face turned red as he mumbled, "You woman, sneaking around to watch me in the middle of the night..."
I playfully stuck out my tongue and replied, "I just like watching you. What about it?"
Suddenly, I turned around, grabbed my clothes, and ran away.
" Lin Nuannuan, what are you doing?" Han Weiting shouted anxiously.
I ran off without looking back.
I really can't control my emotions.
Every time I think of those things, I become someone I'm not.
I know Han Weiting has been trying hard to make it up to me.
But I really can't accept his kindness.
I'm afraid I will get hurt again.
So, I can only choose to run away.
Han Weiting, I'm sorry...
I silently told myself.
"This woman is always so willful; I can never find her," Han Weiting complained helplessly.
Yet, he still put in a lot of effort to look for me.
After all, he doesn't want to see me running around everywhere; what if something happened?
Han Weiting searched for me while listening to me mumble the name "Xu Mingxing," feeling increasingly annoyed.
"Am I just a substitute for Xu Mingxing in her heart? What a heartless woman," Han Weiting thought to himself.
However, he did not give up on finding me and eventually succeeded.
"Don't run off like that again, okay?" Han Weiting scolded.
"Who told you to always make me angry?" I replied playfully.
Han Weiting sighed helplessly, "I really don't know what to do with you."
