"Hahaha, Fatty, your Phantom Soldier moves are so ridiculous, it's almost more clumsy than I am!" Pifu watched as Fatty controlled the Phantom Soldier, unable to hold back his laughter.
Fatty's forehead bulged with veins as he shot Pifu a fierce glare and replied irritably, "If you're so good, why don't you give it a try? It's easy to talk when you're just standing there!"
Pifu raised an eyebrow, a confident smile spreading across his face. "Fine, I'll do it! Who's afraid of whom? I want to see just how powerful your Phantom Soldier really is!"
With that, Pifu walked to the center of the training ground, quickly forming hand seals and chanting incantations. As he recited his spell, the fire elements around him began to stir, gradually coalescing into a massive fireball in front of him.
"Fatty, watch closely!" Pifu shouted as he hurled the fireball toward the Phantom Soldier.
The fireball trailed a long tail of flames and carried a scorching heat as it slammed into the Phantom Soldier.
However, unexpectedly, the fireball caused no damage to the Phantom Soldier. The moment it made contact, it seemed to be swallowed by an invisible force, dissipating into sparks in the air.
"How is this possible?" Pifu stared in disbelief at the scene, his eyes wide open.
Before he could react, the Phantom Soldier moved. It charged toward Pifu with astonishing speed, its battle axe glinting coldly as it swung down toward Pifu's chest.
Pifu's face changed dramatically as he hurriedly tried to retreat, but the Phantom Soldier was simply too fast for him to dodge.
"Pifu, watch out!" Pisman exclaimed in alarm, wanting to intervene but realizing it was too late.
In a critical moment, Hel appeared in front of Pifu, extending his right hand and firmly grasping the battle axe of the Phantom Soldier.
"Bang!"
With a loud crash, the battle axe was held firmly by Hel, unable to advance any further.
The Phantom Soldier and Hel were locked in a stalemate for a moment before slowly dissipating into thin air.
"Phew..." Pifu let out a long breath, patting his chest in relief. Just then, he truly thought he was going to die.
"What... what just happened?" Pifu looked at Fatty, his eyes filled with shock and confusion. "Why was my magic ineffective against it? And how could its speed and strength be so terrifying?"
The chubby man shrugged and said casually, "I don't know either, maybe it's just good luck."
Pisman looked at the place where the Phantom Soldier had disappeared, a wise light flickering in his eyes. After pondering for a moment, he slowly said, "This Military Killing Path is indeed not simple; it can actually ignore magical attacks. It seems our previous judgment was incorrect; the potential of this power far exceeds our imagination."
"That's right, chubby! Your strength has already surpassed many new Military Killing Path practitioners!" Hel's hearty laughter echoed in the training ground as he patted the chubby man's shoulder, his eyes filled with admiration. "Your hard work during this time has not been in vain; everyone can see your progress!"
The chubby man scratched his head shyly and smiled foolishly. He secretly glanced at Pifu, who was looking at him with surprise and admiration, which made him feel a little proud inside.
"However," Hel's tone shifted to a serious one, "real combat cannot be learned just on the training ground. To become a qualified Military Killing Path practitioner, practical experience is essential."
He paused, scanning the chubby man and Pifu before saying solemnly, "Tomorrow morning, you two will come with me to the Dark Jungle!"
"The Dark Jungle?!" Pifu exclaimed, his face suddenly turning pale. "That's a place filled with ferocious beasts; what are we going there for?"
The Dark Jungle, as the name suggests, is a primitive jungle shrouded in darkness year-round. It is a paradise for various fierce magical beasts, and even experienced adventurers do not dare to venture there lightly.
Hel ignored Pifu's panic and turned to the chubby man, asking, "Chubby, are you afraid?"
"Not afraid!" The chubby man puffed out his chest and said firmly.
Although he said that, he felt a bit anxious inside. He had heard about the dangers of the Dark Jungle but thought about facing real combat made his blood surge with excitement.
Hel nodded in satisfaction and said, "Good! Remember, in the Dark Jungle, you must never let your guard down; otherwise, you will pay with your life!"
The next morning, the chubby man and Pifu arrived early at the training ground to wait for Hel.
Pifu was wearing a bright red robe today, with a gem-studded staff hanging at his waist. He looked radiant but still had a slightly pale complexion. In contrast, the chubby man appeared more modest; he was still wearing that faded coarse cloth shirt but had added a short knife that Hel had given him at his waist.
"Chubby, what kind of magical beasts do you think we will encounter in the Dark Jungle?" Pifu asked nervously as he kept stroking the gems on his staff as if it would bring him some sense of security.
The chubby man shook his head and said, "I don't know either, but since Instructor Hel is taking us, he must have made all the necessary preparations. We just need to follow his lead."
"That's true," Pifu replied, taking a deep breath to calm himself.
"Are you ready?" Hel's voice came from a distance as he strode towards them, his piercing gaze sweeping over them.
"Ready!" the chubby man and Pifu answered in unison.
"Great!" Hel waved his hand and led the two of them towards the training ground.
The three of them headed north and soon reached the edge of a dark forest.
A chilling aura hit them, causing both the chubby man and Pifu to shiver involuntarily.
"Remember, stay close to me!" Hel said in a low voice before stepping into the dark forest.
The chubby man and Pifu closely followed behind Hel, carefully observing their surroundings.
Tall trees blocked out the sunlight, allowing only scattered beams of light to filter through the canopy, making the entire forest appear eerie and frightening. Various bizarre plants grew among the trees, some even emitting strange glows that sent chills down their spines.
"Rustle rustle rustle..."
