Lin Feng was helping Dong Jie climb a tree, using his strength to support her. After undergoing the trials of the Forbidden Spring, Lin Feng had gained considerable strength, so he effortlessly lifted Dong Jie to about halfway up the tree.
“Lin Feng, stop now. We're at a safe spot; I can take it from here,” Dong Jie said, realizing they had reached the trunk's midpoint. Although the wolves were below them, they couldn't reach them now, so she paused her ascent and spoke to Lin Feng.
“Just keep climbing up like this; trust me, I have a plan,” Lin Feng replied. Since he was already supporting her, he thought it would be easier for Dong Jie to continue climbing while he held her up. His strength was more than enough to handle her weight without any strain.
Moreover, Lin Feng didn't mind this kind of physical interaction with Dong Jie. Of course, if it were a big man instead, he might have kicked him down to feed the wolves.
Perhaps this was the difference between beautiful women and others; Lin Feng wasn't selfless and had his own desires in certain aspects.
“Oh, I see. Well, if you can't hold on anymore, just let me know,” Dong Jie said. Seeing that Lin Feng was insistent, she decided not to argue further and began to climb up obediently after exchanging a few words.
“Don't worry; I'm strong enough,” Lin Feng reassured her. He felt no pressure from Dong Jie’s weight, and with the immediate danger temporarily averted, his tone became more relaxed.
“I’m telling you, don’t get too cocky or I’ll kick you down,” Dong Jie warned playfully. Being supported by Lin Feng made her acutely aware of their close proximity; his head was moving in ways that made her blush deeply. She felt compelled to say something fierce to maintain her composure.
Sometimes, when women speak harshly, it’s just a way to mask their shyness—Dong Jie was experiencing that now.
“Why am I so unlucky? If it were someone else, I would have thrown them down to feed the dogs by now, yet here you are talking back to me,” Lin Feng continued jokingly as he noticed Dong Jie’s feisty remarks. Below them, the pack of wolves seemed eager to transform into superheroes just to drag Lin Feng down for taking advantage of the situation while flirting with a beautiful woman.
Of course, this entire line of thought assumed that the wolves had human-like intelligence.
“You dare…” Hearing Lin Feng's teasing tone made Dong Jie relax a bit more. She turned back and scolded him again but felt an inexplicable sweetness bubbling up inside her.
This was also Lin Feng's intention to feign ignorance; he had to be thoughtful and make Dong Jie relax. Otherwise, before the fight even began, Dong Jie would already feel guilty, and how could she escape then?
Finally, Lin Feng carried Dong Jie to the top of the tree. Looking down from the top, he saw pairs of wolf eyes glowing green below.
What white-eyed wolves? Clearly, all wolf eyes glowed green, Lin Feng thought that what he saw with his own eyes was the truth.
Lin Feng watched the pack of wolves howling below and felt quite at ease. He almost wanted to shout down, "Come up and bite me!" But Dong Jie couldn't do that. It was her first time facing such a scene; she couldn't remain calm like Lin Feng. Moreover, this tree was quite tall, and being somewhat afraid of heights, she was trembling in this environment.
Just as Dong Jie was trembling, Lin Feng hugged her from behind and gently asked, "Sister Jie, are you afraid of those lecherous wolves down there?"
"What lecherous wolves? Am I not being held by one right now?" Dong Jie shrank into Lin Feng's embrace but retorted defiantly.
"Hehe... Do you see that over there? That should lead to a road. I will escape from there later. The Wolf King was killed by me; when those wolves see me fleeing, they will definitely chase after me. You wait for them to leave, then come down immediately and find a place to hide. If I haven't returned by dawn, you should find your way back on your own," Lin Feng said with a smile, pointing in a direction. By the end of his words, there was an obvious hint of hidden sorrow in his tone.
Clearly, he intended to take a risk, using himself as bait to divert the wolves and allow Dong Jie to escape.
"No way! Leaving like this is no different from sending yourself to death. I listened to you earlier; now you have to listen to me. We can wait; maybe those wolves will leave by dawn," Dong Jie argued. From Lin Feng's actions of climbing the tree with her, she could tell that he no longer had any weapons. She also knew that without weapons, Lin Feng had very little chance against a pack of wolves—almost negligible.
"It's useless. This place is rarely visited; we have no food reserves. If we wait until we're starving and then I try to draw them away, my chances of failure will be even higher at that point." Lin Feng had considered Dong Jie's suggestion but quickly dismissed it. If they really reached a point where they were out of food and energy, he wouldn't have the strength to deal with the wolves anymore. It was better to take a chance now while he still had energy.
"But..." Dong Jie found some sense in Lin Feng's words but couldn't bear the thought of watching him take risks for her.
"How about this? I'll draw them away while you look for an opportunity to escape." In the end, Dong Jie proposed an idea that even she found somewhat amusing.
"Alright, but you have to run at least a hundred meters away. Otherwise, once that pack of wolves takes care of you, they'll come back and deal with me, splitting us up in the process," Lin Feng said, defeated by Dong Jie's words, speaking in a sarcastic tone.
"I..." Dong Jie knew that Lin Feng was being sarcastic. She also understood that if she went down, it would be like sending a sheep into a tiger's den.
"Listen, Jie Jie, I came here to save you. You need to understand that this isn't a situation where only one of us can survive. We still have a chance, do you know that? If you keep dragging this out, we won't have any opportunity left," Lin Feng said, holding Dong Jie tightly and speaking firmly.
"Then, Lin Feng, be careful. Remember, I won't leave this tree. I'll wait for you right here. If you can't come back, then I guess I'll just starve to death on this tree," Dong Jie finally agreed to Lin Feng but added resolutely at the end.
"Okay." Lin Feng gently kissed Dong Jie and then resolutely left.
Standing on the branch, Lin Feng magically produced the Wingsuit. This was his lifeline; with it, he believed gliding a hundred meters away from the tree would be no problem. Then it would be a contest of speed against the wolves. He was confident that he had a decent chance of shaking off the pack—about fifty-fifty.
What concerned Lin Feng, aside from the wolves' collective combat strength, was their keen sense of smell. He knew that he had to get far enough away so they couldn't track him by scent; only then would he truly escape.
"Wait for me obediently," Lin Feng turned back and smiled at Dong Jie before starting to unfold the Wingsuit and jumping down.
Seeing Lin Feng take out the Wingsuit, Dong Jie was no longer surprised. She had witnessed his ability to conjure up a Wingsuit out of thin air before; seeing it again just made her think he was really good at magic tricks.
It must be said that Dong Jie was quite innocent.
Magic was indeed the best explanation for how Lin Feng could produce things so effortlessly.
Ignoring Dong Jie's longing expression, Lin Feng took a leap of faith and began gliding like a large bird.
Next, it was time for Lin Feng to dance with the wolves.
The group of wolves below, seeing Lin Feng leave, were surprised at how he suddenly took flight. However, just as Lin Feng had anticipated, they collectively moved away from the tree and headed towards the place where Lin Feng was gliding.
Seeing them follow him, Lin Feng felt quite satisfied. At least he had achieved his goal of diverting them. Now, it depended on whether his luck was good enough to shake off this pack of wolves.
Lin Feng knew that the wingsuit would only allow him to leave in a parabolic arc, and he would have to land about a hundred meters away.
At that point, whether he could lose the group behind him would depend on his own stamina.
On that tree, watching Lin Feng's departing figure, Dong Jie couldn't help but feel her eyes redden as she murmured, "Lin Feng, you must come back to find me."

Chen Xinni felt that today was truly unlucky. Once again, she was being dragged by her father to A City to visit the Jade Company’s raw materials. Chen Xinni had told her father that he could go alone; although she knew a bit about jade from growing up around it, it was merely some basic knowledge and wouldn't be of much use.
But her stubborn father insisted on bringing her along every time, claiming that he was getting old and that the future business of the company would be handed over to Chen Xinni. How could she adapt if she didn't experience it beforehand?
Thus, under her father's threat of cutting her allowance in half next month if she didn't go, Chen Xinni reluctantly joined the convoy heading to A City.
The convoy consisted of about ten people in total: five or six workers and two bodyguards. The workers drove a transport vehicle while Chen Xinni, her father, and the two bodyguards rode in an SUV.
Now, Miss Chen Xinni was yawning while cursing her stubborn father and gazing at the distant Thumb Mountain. She knew that after passing Thumb Mountain, it would take another two hours of driving before they reached A City, and then she could finally enjoy a good sleep.
As for why they had to travel at night, her deceased father never told her. She only knew that every time he went to City A to restock, he always drove at night.

Lin Feng was quite skilled on his feet. Although he didn't know any lightness skills, he was still able to maintain a certain distance from the group of pursuers behind him.

"There's a truck and an SUV driving up ahead. Kid, try to lure those wolves onto the road. Maybe you can use those fast-moving vehicles to take out some of them," said the Tesla, which had been helping Lin Feng escape while staying alert.
"Got it." Seeing that he wasn't at a dead end yet, Lin Feng hurried toward the road.
Standing by the roadside and watching the pack of wolves closing in behind him, while also eyeing the approaching truck, Lin Feng felt that there was still hope.
The reason he stood there was to wait—for an opportunity, a crucial moment.
