The call was quickly connected, and Su Rong's phone rang as Lin Feng's call came through.
"Hello... Lin Feng, is there something you need?" Su Rong said on the other end of the line.
"Oh, here's the thing..." Lin Feng had no choice but to explain everything to Su Rong so she could be mentally prepared.
"Oh, I see. Well, thank you for handling this. It's quite a hassle for you to run around for this matter," Su Rong responded after hearing Lin Feng's words. She sensed that Liu Jing, whom Lin Feng mentioned, was not an ordinary person. After a moment of thought, she could only say that.
"Well then, how about we meet now? Let's set a time to talk, and I'll introduce you two," Lin Feng suggested when he saw that she had no objections.
"Sure, I'm fine with that. So when and where?" Since Su Rong had decided to meet Liu Jing, she was flexible with the timing and agreed.
"How about you choose the location? I’m not sure where would be suitable for a discussion; just arrange it and let me know the address." Since Su Rong was being so accommodating, Lin Feng felt it was better not to take charge of everything himself. Of course, his excuse of not knowing a suitable place was somewhat exaggerated; after all, he had lived in City B for most of his life and knew plenty of places that were appropriate for meetings.
"Alright then, I'll send the address to your mobile phone. I often have discussions there, and I think it's quite good," Su Rong replied. It was unclear whether she understood Lin Feng's intention or not, but she agreed after hearing him.
"Okay, we’ll head over right away," Lin Feng said without any objections.
"See you later," Su Rong replied as she started making arrangements before hanging up.
"Alright, let's go," Lin Feng said to Liu Jing after ending the call.
"Weren't you going to let me listen in on the call?" Liu Jing remarked since Lin Feng had hung up without letting her speak.
"You don’t know her yet; how could you just jump into a conversation like that?" Lin Feng naturally wouldn’t hand the phone over to Liu Jing as she suggested. That would only complicate things for him later.
"Alright, you have a point. I really want to see what kind of woman Su Rong is that makes you protect her like this." After hearing Lin Feng's words, Liu Jing felt conflicted, but since Lin Feng had already played the "first strike, then report" card and hung up the phone, there was nothing she could do to change it.
"Liu Jing, I hope you understand that the reason I'm helping Su Rong is to assist her, not to provoke her. I appreciate your willingness to help, and I can agree to your requests as you asked, but please don't do anything that would make everyone uncomfortable. That's not what I want to see." “Well, it’s like this; she had something come up last minute. Let’s go in and chat first,” after thinking for a long time, Lin Feng gives this rather awkward excuse to Su Rong.
“Oh, I see. That’s really unfortunate. Well then, let’s go in,” Lin Feng isn’t sure if Su Rong realizes that his excuse of “having something come up” is just a cover story, but at least on the surface, she doesn’t call him out on it. After hearing his words, she responds to him.
“Alright then… let’s go in,” seeing that Su Rong doesn’t press further, Lin Feng can only assume that she hasn’t figured it out yet and replies to her.
The two entered the private room.

Lin Feng also sat down but truly didn't understand why Liu Jing had appeared again.

“Rong Jie, I just rushed over and need to use the restroom. Sorry about that.” Suddenly, Liu Jing spoke to Su Rong, not glancing at Lin Feng even once.
“Oh, it’s fine.” Su Rong instinctively looked at Lin Feng after hearing Liu Jing's words and replied.
With Liu Jing gone, only Su Rong and Lin Feng remained in the private room.
