“Hehe... you really have wanted to talk to me for a long time,” Xu Meng replied with a smile.

"So what?" No one likes being threatened, and Lin Feng disliked it even more. His expression gradually turned cold as he asked.
"Hehe... Although your face is very cold right now, I know you won't harm me because of it. After all, my purpose is merely to seek protection and not to expose your secret," Xu Meng continued to analyze calmly as Lin Feng's expression grew colder.
"Do you think that just because you say this, I will protect you?" Upon hearing Xu Meng's words, Lin Feng laughed and asked.
"Isn't it?" Xu Meng confidently countered.
"Indeed, it's not. That's a fact," Lin Feng realized Xu Meng's defenses and replied.
"Let me guess, perhaps you aren't afraid of the world knowing your hidden identity, but what if I choose to tell your mother?" Xu Meng said, still holding her cards close to her chest.
"If you think you can walk out of this room, you can choose to do so," Lin Feng threatened, as he knew that the one person he least wanted to find out about his identity was his mother. He could imagine how heartbroken she would be if she learned the truth.
"But what if I say I'm confident you won't do anything to me?" Xu Meng continued.
Alright, Lin Feng had to admit that Xu Meng was quite clever; at least she was calm in this situation, which was indeed rare.
"Go ahead, what do you want?" Lin Feng felt that since he met Xu Meng today, her performance had impressed him. Of course, he would appreciate her even more if she weren't targeting him.
"I want to work in your city. Don't worry, with me around, there won't be any thieves in your city," Xu Meng stated her request.
"Well then, as the boss, am I not responsible for the safety of my employee? What if someone wants to cause you trouble? Will I need to protect you?" Lin Feng knew that Xu Meng deliberately left out some important details and added with a smile.
"You're quite smart," Xu Meng smiled back and acknowledged his point.
"Now tell me, who wants to cause you trouble?" At this moment, Lin Feng suddenly felt that agreeing to protect her wasn't a big deal; after all, it was just protecting one person. Given his current strength in City B, a mid-level city, it was really nothing.
