After hanging up the phone, Lin Mei looked out the window and murmured, "Xiao Yue, Lin Feng, what on earth are you two up to?"
Meanwhile, when Xiao Yue arrived at the location she mentioned, she found that Lin Feng was already there, which caused her to gasp in surprise.
However, recalling the purpose of inviting Lin Feng here, Xiao Yue quickly suppressed her astonishment and walked over to him.
She opened the car door, got in, and decisively stated the destination. Then she instructed Lin Feng to drive, issuing a series of commands that left Lin Feng with no chance to speak. He pressed the accelerator and drove away.

Seeing this place, a bitter smile crossed Lin Feng's lips. Xiao Yue truly had a fondness for this spot; this was already the third time he had followed her here.
"How is it? Are you familiar with this place?" After settling in, Xiao Yue suddenly asked Lin Feng.
"Uh... it's okay," Lin Feng replied, sensing that there was something more behind Xiao Yue's question but pretending not to know.
"Well, that's good. Lin Feng, do you know why I asked you to come out with me tonight?" Xiao Yue continued calmly when she saw Lin Feng's clueless expression.
"I don't know; I was just about to ask you," Lin Feng shook his head and responded, although he felt an ominous premonition.
"Lin Feng, do you really know nothing at all?" At that moment, Xiao Yue looked directly into Lin Feng's eyes and asked with a questioning tone.
"I don't know; I truly have no idea," Lin Feng answered, his sense of foreboding growing stronger despite his calm demeanor.
"Heh, let me tell you, there's no need for you to pretend. I've investigated you; your file is quite impressive. Although I don't know your intentions, I want to inform you that your plan has failed. However, you did me a big favor by stopping Zheng Jian's malicious intentions toward me," Xiao Yue said, no longer intending to beat around the bush with Lin Feng.
"What?" Lin Feng was genuinely surprised at this moment and couldn't help but ask.
"Lin Feng, I have investigated you. Your profile is perfect, but you even found a foreign Chinese to replace your father. Moreover, I have looked through your investigation materials in detail, and everything about you is too perfect, with no flaws at all. If you do not leave, in the days to come, I really cannot control these matters because by then, there may be more than just me dealing with you," Xiao Yue said quickly when she saw that Lin Feng still looked the same.
"No, Miss Xiao Yue, I really don't know what you're talking about," Lin Feng continued to play dumb. He knew that Xiao Yue was merely speculating, so he naturally could not admit anything.
"Lin Feng, just go. I thank you for saving me that day and for accompanying me tonight. Now, regardless of what intentions you had towards me before, at least up until now, you haven't done anything to harm me. So we can consider ourselves even; you can leave," Xiao Yue said as she stood up and prepared to leave when Lin Feng still wouldn't admit anything.
The reason Xiao Yue asked Lin Feng to accompany her tonight was actually to use him as a performance for the Lin family; it was her way of protesting against them. She truly did not want her life to be planned out like this—all for a man from the Lin family whom she had never met and who was even currently untraceable. She did not want to be just a puppet.
Although she knew that her series of actions and purposes tonight were akin to a child's way of expressing dissatisfaction—knowing that it wouldn't change anything—she still wanted to do it. She wanted to protest once; she wanted to express her discontent once.

Upon arriving at her destination, Xiao Yue opened the car door herself and prepared to leave without any hesitation.
"Are you really that sure I would give you a ride?" Lin Feng couldn't help but ask in the end.
"Hehe... You're just a bit adorably foolish," Xiao Yue replied with a chuckle instead of directly answering his question.
Indeed, as Lin Feng sat in the car watching Xiao Yue walk away, he suddenly realized how foolishly adorable he truly was. The Lin family would definitely have someone else to take care of Xiao Yue, so if he didn't take her back, someone else surely would.
How naive he was.
With that thought, Lin Feng could only shake his head and smile wryly as he prepared to leave.
He knew that his plan to enter the Lin family group through Xiao Yue was no longer viable. Therefore, Lin Feng decided to go back and discuss things with He Ting, to see if she had any backup plans.
