"Ha ha, it's nothing." Upon hearing this, Lin Feng smiled and shrugged nonchalantly.
Seeing Lin Feng's indifferent demeanor, Lin Xing regarded him with a higher opinion; indeed, this was the kind of attitude that qualified him to be Lin Xing's friend.
As a capable individual in the military, Lin Xing had the right to say such things. After all, not everyone could earn the privilege of being Lin Xing's friend.
Before long, the rabbit and spores were roasted to perfection. The oil from the rabbit and spores dripped onto the meat, making it look quite delicious.
Reaching into his pocket, Lin Feng pulled out a small bag of salt and skillfully sprinkled it over the rabbit. Opening the car door, Lin Feng indeed found Lin Mei wide awake and not asleep at all.

Upon hearing this, Lin Mei didn't hesitate and took the rabbit meat directly. She pulled out some plastic wrap from the trunk, put it on her hand, and started tearing off pieces of meat to eat. She realized that if she didn't eat something in this cold weather, she might really fall ill due to lack of energy.
At that point, she would definitely be sent back to the Lin family, delaying Lin Feng and their plans for gathering ginseng.
So for her survival, she had no choice but to eat now. Although it might not taste as good as other cooked foods, at least it was warm and her stomach could digest it—that was enough.
Even with this mindset while eating the rabbit meat, when she actually tasted it, she couldn't help but take another bite because it was simply too delicious.
"Who roasted this? I remember that Lin Xing doesn't know how to cook this," Lin Mei mumbled while chewing on the rabbit meat as she looked at Lin Feng.
"Uh, I roasted it," Lin Feng admitted, somewhat surprised that Lin Mei didn't realize it was his cooking. However, after his initial surprise, he didn't say much more.
"Ah, I didn't expect you to have such skills," Lin Mei replied, her eyes wide with disbelief at Lin Feng's unexpected talent.
"Haha... there are many things you don't know about me," Lin Feng said, deciding not to disturb Lin Mei while she ate. He could tell she was genuinely hungry, but felt a bit restrained eating in front of him.
So, Lin Feng kindly stepped out of the vehicle.
As for whether Lin Mei might choke from being too hungry, Lin Feng hadn't considered that. He knew his roasted rabbit meat was not only delicious but also tender and easy to digest, making it perfect for Lin Mei at that moment.
Once outside the car, Lin Xing handed Lin Feng a piece of spore meat and praised him, "Brother Lin Feng, your roasted meat is really tasty. Here, this is for you."
Taking the roasted meat, Lin Feng started to eat as well; having a bite at that moment felt quite satisfying.
After finishing their meal, Lin Feng and Ajie took the night watch while Lin Xing and Akun went inside the vehicle to rest, planning to switch shifts later in the night.
Fortunately, the night passed without incident. The next morning, Lin Feng woke up early to make the most of the daylight before everyone else stirred.
“Lin Feng, thank you,” Lin Mei said cheerfully in the morning as she approached him.
"You're welcome; I'm your bodyguard after all," Lin Feng waved his hand dismissively and replied.
Seeing Lin Feng respond this way, Lin Mei chose not to say anything further and joined the group as they moved forward.
Having learned from their experience the previous day, they decided not to carry handguns into the mountains this time. Instead, they switched to small cannons, and Lin Xing even had a few grenades strapped to his waist. Luckily, as a soldier, he was capable of handling those weapons.
Since they had already been there yesterday—albeit unsuccessfully—they were familiar with the area and made good progress toward their destination.
Once they arrived at the site, Lin Xing wanted to fire a small cannon at the hill to test it out but was stopped by Lin Feng.
"Lin Xing, we can't act recklessly. Although this creature is extremely fierce, that Millennium Ginseng is very fragile. If you shoot it, you might destroy it. We should think of another plan," Lin Feng advised him.
"You're right; I was being reckless. What do you suggest then?" Lin Xing, reminded by Lin Feng, realized his earlier behavior was indeed thoughtless and asked for his input.
"How about this? You all stay here and be ready to shoot. I'll go lure it out. When you see it come out, shoot it down right here," Lin Feng suggested.
"No, that's too dangerous. Besides, while we need to draw it out, we don't necessarily have to use a person for that. How about this: can you lift that stone?" Lin Mei directly stopped Lin Feng's reckless plan and said.

This plan was good, so everyone naturally had no reason to refuse. They all worked together to lift the stone and threw it in that direction.
"Bang..." The stone landed on the small mound, kicking up dust. The noise should have alerted the big snake, which soon came out.
"Hiss..." Sure enough, not long after, the big snake really emerged. It clearly noticed Lin Feng and the others and rushed toward them.
"Everyone shoot quickly; don't let it get close!" Seeing this situation, Lin Feng shouted immediately and was the first to fire his small cannon at the big snake.

However, despite this, the big snake continued charging toward Lin Feng and his group, enduring numerous powerful bullets.

How about this: give me the grenades, and I'll get close to it and blow it to pieces," Assassin interrupted him before he could use his last resort.
"You go? No way! If anyone goes, it's me," Lin Xing naturally refused. He initially intended for Lin Feng to act as bait; if anything happened to Lin Feng during this risky venture, he wouldn't know how to explain it to Old Master.
"Stop hesitating! I’m confident; just give them to me—there's no time left." Seeing that Lin Xing was still indecisive at that moment, Lin Feng snatched the grenade pouch from Lin Xing's waist, strapped it onto himself, and quickly ran toward the big snake.
"Lin Feng..." Lin Feng's actions were so swift that even Lin Xing couldn't stop him. In the end, even Lin Mei shouted at Lin Feng in an attempt to prevent him from going.
But before she could say anything, Lin Feng had already run a considerable distance away.
Lin Feng intended to place the grenade at the vital spot of the giant snake, but he wasn't foolish enough to approach it directly; he had his own methods.
As Lin Feng got closer to the giant snake, he fired his gun fiercely until it jammed. Only then did he throw the gun down in front of the snake, all to draw its attention.
Sure enough, Lin Feng succeeded. The giant snake, distracted by Lin Feng's actions, opened its massive mouth, ready to swallow him whole.
In that critical moment, Lin Feng nimbly climbed up a nearby tree and began to attach grenades to a spot on the tree. Finally, he took one grenade in his hand.
Seeing Lin Feng up in the tree, the giant snake roared and also climbed up, charging toward the direction where Lin Feng stood.
The speed of the giant snake was astonishing. Just as Lin Feng finished setting up, the snake was already upon him. However, that was sufficient for Lin Feng.
As the giant snake lunged at him again, Lin Feng skillfully leaped to another large tree. While in mid-air, he twisted open the safety on the grenade and threw it toward the spot where he had just placed a full clip of grenades.
That spot was right at the vital area of the giant snake.
With a loud bang, a massive explosion occurred, tearing the giant snake into pieces and leaving a gruesome mess on the ground.
