A person may have a good tolerance for alcohol, but it doesn't necessarily mean that someone with a high tolerance enjoys drinking. This is a fact.
Lin Feng knows that Li Shuzhen, as a Manager in the Public Relations Department, must also have a decent tolerance for alcohol. However, compared to Lin Feng, who in his past life treated alcohol like water, she simply cannot compare.
Of course, Lin Feng does not want to compete with Li Shuzhen over drinking capacity; he only needs her to understand what kind of person Wang Jin is and then hand over Wang Jin's criminal records to her. He knows that once Li Shuzhen receives the information, she will know what to do.
As for why Lin Feng does not personally give the information to Lin Mei, it is partly because he does not like to draw attention to himself, even though being Lin Mei's assistant is already quite noticeable. Additionally, he is unsure how to explain the origins of this information to Lin Mei. Even if he tells her that he secretly entered Wang Jin's office to obtain it, Lin Mei likely wouldn't think much of it. However, the fact that his assistant has access to steal confidential documents from others' offices is always difficult to view lightly.
"Well... what does Li Zhong think about Wang Jin?" After finishing his meal, Lin Feng put down his chopsticks and asked Li Shuzhen.
"Well... since we work at the same company, I naturally know him," Li Shuzhen replied without seeming surprised.
Lin Feng picked up on the implication in her words—specifically the phrase "same company," which indicated that she did not want to acknowledge any past friendship with Wang Jin.
Hearing this, Lin Feng's eyes flickered; this woman is not simple. She works methodically and knows what to say and what not to say.
However, Lin Feng does not need to force Li Shuzhen to admit that she had a good relationship with Wang Jin in the past. What he needs is for her to have a poor relationship with Wang Jin now.
This is important because Lin Feng plans to give Li Shuzhen all of Wang Jin's criminal records. If Li Shuzhen had a close relationship with Wang Jin, then Lin Feng's efforts would be unnecessary.
It might even alert Wang Jin unnecessarily. Although Lin Feng is not afraid, he dislikes dragging things out, as it complicates matters for him.
Now, Lin Feng can be certain that Li Shuzhen and Wang Jin's relationship is clearly not good. So he continued, "If I tell Li Zhong right now that Wang Jin has a dirty background and is profiting by betraying the company, would you believe it?"
"Well... Lin Zhu, this matter is serious. If that's true, then I would only believe evidence," Li Shuzhen responded rationally. Although surprised by Lin Feng's words, she maintained a professional demeanor.
"Good. Would I speak nonsense without evidence? Here are the materials; they might be useful for you," Lin Feng said. Seeing Li Shuzhen remain so calm reassured him. After all, what he needs her to do next is not a simple task and requires a cool head to handle properly.
After finishing his words, Lin Feng handed a prepared USB Drive to Li Shuzhen and said, "As for right and wrong, you'll know once you look at what's inside. Personally, I believe that although the Golden Dragon Group is a large corporation, we cannot allow pests to gnaw at it freely. If that happens, even a giant can collapse."
After handing the USB Drive to Li Shuzhen, Lin Feng spoke for a moment and then fell silent, focusing on his meal.
Li Shuzhen noticed Lin Feng's demeanor and wisely refrained from asking further questions. She quietly put away the USB Drive and thoughtfully continued eating.
It seemed that Lin Feng was aware of Li Shuzhen's eagerness to return and check the contents of the USB Drive. He quickly finished his meal and said to her, "Li Zhong, let's call it a day. We can meet again another time."
With that, Lin Feng called over the waiter and paid the bill.
Li Shuzhen did not argue with Lin Feng about this; her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of whether Wang Jin would betray the company. She was also considering what actions she should take if that were indeed the case, especially now that she had this evidence in hand.
So when Lin Feng pulled her away, she was clearly still deep in thought.
Li Shuzhen had driven herself, and after Lin Feng helped her into her car, he opened his own door and followed behind her car as they headed back to the company.
Of course, their purposes for going to the company were different; Li Shuzhen wanted to review the materials while Lin Feng was there to take Lin Mei home.
When Lin Feng arrived at the company, he checked the time and realized he wasn't late; it was still before closing time. Therefore, he followed Li Shuzhen upstairs.
Li Shuzhen's office was located on the floor directly below Lin Mei's President's Office. So when the elevator reached Li Shuzhen's floor, she exited while Lin Feng continued upward.
"Li Zhong, remember to return the USB Drive next time we meet; that thing is quite expensive," Lin Feng teased as he watched Li Shuzhen step out of the elevator.
How much does a USB Drive cost? For both Lin Feng and Li Shuzhen, it was not a significant matter.
After saying this, Lin Feng went upstairs while Li Shuzhen looked somewhat stunned. He knew that now it was just a matter of waiting for Li Shuzhen's next move. He also believed everything would unfold as he anticipated.
Upon reaching the top floor, Lin Feng first entered the office he shared with Xiao Ya and then sat down at his desk.
"Lin Zhu, you really are punctual," Xiao Ya remarked sarcastically upon seeing Lin Feng arrive just a minute before the end of the workday.
"Heh heh... I'm always on time," Lin Feng replied with a smile. He could easily tell that Xiao Ya's words were laced with sarcasm, but his thick skin was not as fragile as she imagined, so he simply echoed her words.
"Hmph..." Xiao Ya clearly underestimated Lin Feng's resilience. Hearing his response, she could only let out a resigned "hmph" and continued with her work.
Realizing that he had inadvertently provoked this Little Pepper again, Lin Feng felt a sense of unspoken frustration. However, he understood that Xiao Ya had issues with him and his work attitude, so he didn't take it to heart. Instead, he found her personality quite interesting.
Sure enough, the next moment, the workday ended, and Lin Feng noticed Xiao Ya stretching her back.
While playing a small game, Lin Feng instinctively glanced over at Xiao Ya and saw that her petite figure was indeed well-proportioned. As she stretched, her curves were fully revealed, prompting Lin Feng to silently exclaim, "This little sparrow may be small, but it has everything."
Although she had stretched, Xiao Ya showed no intention of leaving just yet; she continued to sit at her desk as if reading something.
"Miss Little Pepper, it's time to clock out. Aren't you leaving?" Lin Feng asked curiously.
"I usually wait until Lin Mei leaves before I go. I'm her secretary," Xiao Ya replied without looking up.
Hearing this, Lin Feng looked at the diligent Xiao Ya and suddenly walked over to see what she was reading.
Upon closer inspection, he realized that Xiao Ya was actually studying for the English Level 8 exam.
"Heh heh... Didn't you start working? Why are you still reading this book?" Lin Feng recalled that this English book was typically studied during university for exams; why was Xiao Ya still looking at it now?
"You wouldn't understand," Xiao Ya said as she looked up and noticed that Lin Feng had unknowingly approached her side. Realizing how carefree he seemed, she knew it would be pointless to explain the importance of English to him and decided to continue reading her book.
"Ha ha... this is not how you learn English." Seeing Xiao Ya's condescending attitude, Lin Feng understood that she had her opinions about him. However, Lin Feng had several years of experience living abroad, and he knew that to truly master English, speaking skills were crucial. Clearly, Xiao Ya's rote memorization approach would not help her learn English effectively.
From Xiao Ya's demeanor, it seemed she was learning English to use it in her job. So, he couldn't help but suggest, "Speaking English is more important than anything else. Most Chinese people learn 'mute English,' not realizing that English is a tool language. If you can't speak it, no matter how well you learn it, you'll just be mute."
Given Xiao Ya's serious attitude towards work, Lin Feng really didn't feel like explaining this to her.
"Oh, you understand this too?" Xiao Ya was surprised to hear that Lin Feng was familiar with this theory. She put down her English book and asked.
"Ha ha... I just have a little understanding. I hope it helps you," Lin Feng said humbly when he saw that Xiao Ya was willing to discuss things with him, indicating she wasn't completely clueless.
"Sigh, it's not that I don't know the importance of speaking skills, but we hardly have anyone here who speaks foreign languages regularly. I can only try to cultivate a sense of context by watching movies and such; it's really difficult." Hearing Lin Feng's insights on the matter, Xiao Ya couldn't help but share her frustrations.
"Ha ha... then how about me?" Lin Feng thought to himself that she was genuinely troubled by this issue. He considered himself the best conversation partner for her. Although his vocabulary wasn't as extensive as Xiao Ya's, he had lived abroad for several years and could speak English quite well; conversing with Xiao Ya would be no problem.
"You... you can speak English too?" Although Xiao Ya was surprised by Lin Feng's insights into learning English, she still doubted his speaking abilities.
"Um..." Feeling belittled by Xiao Ya, who was a novice in spoken English, Lin Feng felt a bit embarrassed. This wouldn't do! If he didn't impress her today, he might as well reverse his surname.
Wait, if he reversed "Lin," it would still be "Lin," right?
