"Old man, you’re looking for death, daring to lay a hand on me, the General. Someone, kill this old man!" Kunshan roared, his murderous intent rising sharply.
Chen Zhi indeed had some skills; his techniques were strange. He summoned talismans that transformed into paper birds, engaging in battle with Kunshan's subordinates. However, unfortunately, Chen Zhi was old and also needed to protect Ye Xinru. Faced with a hail of bullets, he found himself overwhelmed. Soon, he was shot in the leg and fell to the ground, his magical powers dissipating completely.
"Old man, don’t think that just because you know some magic you can stand against me. In the Golden Triangle, there are many shamans whose methods are no worse than yours, yet they still end up dead from bullets and bombs. Your little skills are nothing," Kunshan said as he approached Chen Zhi, pointing his gun at Chen Zhi's head with a cold smile.
Chen Zhi sighed deeply; it seemed he was going to die here. He felt unwilling to accept this fate.
"General Kunsan, please stop!" At this critical moment, Ye Xinru quickly pleaded.
"President Ye, if you want me not to kill him, then you just need to agree to accompany me. Anything can be discussed," Kunshan replied with a grin.
"Okay, I... I agree," Ye Xinru said with tears in her eyes and a trembling voice. She had no choice; she could not let Chen Zhi die here, and she had no room for resistance left. She had underestimated the Golden Triangle this time.
Seeing that Ye Xinru was no longer resisting, Kunshan laughed heartily and put away his gun, ready to pounce on her right then and there.
Ye Xinru closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face.
But just as Ye Xinru felt hopeless, an unexpected voice rang out.
"Kunshan, stop! No one dares to act recklessly in front of me! Get out of here now!"
Kunshan halted his advance towards Ye Xinru upon hearing the voice.
Ye Xinru opened her eyes; she naturally knew who was speaking and quickly looked towards Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen stood there nonchalantly, facing the furious Kunshan with an air of calmness.
Ye Xinru momentarily couldn’t react; she completely did not understand why Jiang Chen dared to say such arrogant words in this situation.
"You brat, what did you say? Say it again if you have the guts!" Kunshan glared at Jiang Chen with piercing eyes and a low tone.
"I said get lost," Jiang Chen replied again in a flat tone as if discussing something trivial.
"You’re looking for death." Kunshan was furious; how dare a young man speak to him like that? This had never happened before. He pulled out his gun and aimed it at Jiang Chen.
"Kneel down or I’ll blow your head off," Kunshan shouted angrily.
"General Kunsan, please show mercy!" Ye Xinru quickly intervened upon seeing this.
"It’s useless for you to plead for him. This brat dared to be so disrespectful to me; I will make him understand my power. Kid, I’ll count to three. If you don’t kneel down by then, I’ll shoot," Kunshan glared at Jiang Chen with fire in his eyes; Jiang Chen’s arrogance had completely ignited Kunshan's fury.
"One."
Jiang Chen remained unmoved, as if he hadn't heard Kunshan's words at all. Kunshan's face had turned a terrifying shade of black.
"Three... kid, you're asking for death," Kunshan said, his anger reaching its peak. Jiang Chen's attitude was nothing short of a blatant disregard for him, a warlord of the Golden Triangle. As soon as Kunshan finished speaking, he pulled the trigger, the gunshot echoing through the mountains and startling the birds.
"Mr. Jiang, get down!" Ye Xinru shouted in desperation.
But the bullet had already been fired, hurtling toward Jiang Chen's head. A cold smile crept across Kunshan's lips; he had no idea how many disobedient people his Desert Eagle had killed.
Ye Xinru instinctively closed her eyes, bracing herself for the sight of Jiang Chen being shot in the head. Just as she turned her head away, Jiang Chen suddenly moved, tilting his head slightly to evade the bullet.
"Since you refuse to leave, then die," Jiang Chen said calmly. Kunshan was taken aback to see Jiang Chen dodge the bullet, but before he could react further, a flash of light surged toward him. In an instant, he was cleaved in two.
Blood gushed out, and Ye Xinru felt something splatter on her; she quickly opened her eyes and nearly fainted at the sight before her. Kunshan had been sliced in half, and what splattered on her was not rainwater but his blood.
This scene unfolded in the blink of an eye. Kunshan's subordinates quickly regained their senses and opened fire on Jiang Chen. However, Jiang Chen moved like a ghost, his Spiritual Energy radiating outward like blades. In mere seconds, dozens of them were slain.
While Jiang Chen was merciful back home, he showed no such restraint here. The men under Kunshan were not good people either. Terrified, they dared not resist and scattered in all directions. Jiang Chen chose not to pursue them too aggressively and allowed them to escape.
On the ground lay Chen Zhi, utterly dumbfounded. He had always thought Jiang Chen was just an ordinary young man; who would have imagined that he possessed such extraordinary powers that even blades and guns could not harm him? After all, how could an ordinary person dare to come to such a place?
After dealing with Kunshan's men, Jiang Chen turned his gaze toward Yao Bao. Seeing Jiang Chen looking at him made Yao Bao so frightened that he dropped to his knees.
"Mr. Jiang, please spare me! I have nothing to do with General Kunshan! Don’t kill me! I know where General Kunshan's lair is; there are many treasures inside! Mr. Jiang, I can take you there," Yao Bao stammered, trembling and tearful.
"Don't worry; if I wanted you dead, you would already be a corpse," Jiang Chen replied coolly.
Relieved that Jiang Chen had no intention of killing him, Yao Bao felt as if he had been granted a reprieve. He hurriedly bowed his head in gratitude and wept with joy. The power Jiang Chen had just displayed truly astonished Yao Bao; having spent many years in the Golden Triangle, he had never seen such a master!
"Mr. Jiang, General Kunshan's lair isn't far from here. He has occupied this area for over a decade and has amassed quite a collection of valuable items. I've heard he has a vault containing at least several tons of gold! Mr. Jiang, I can take you there right now," Yao Bao quickly offered.
"This isn't urgent; first take President Ye back to Huaxia and then wait for me here," Jiang Chen instructed.
"Mr. Jiang, could you possibly let me have the Python Ridge Mine? I can give you the money intended for Kunshan," Ye Xinru said somewhat uneasily.
"President Ye, do you think I care about money?" Jiang Chen looked at Ye Xinru and smiled playfully.
"That's true. With Mr. Jiang's capabilities, money is naturally seen as something external. However, the Serpent Immortal Ridge Mine is very important to me," Ye Xinru hesitated, appearing troubled.
"President Ye, last night I asked you, and you said I couldn't help you. Now, do I still think I can't help you? Just tell me what you need," Jiang Chen chuckled lightly.
