A few minutes later, Yao Bao finished his meal.
"Check, please." Jiang Chen tossed a thousand dollars to the waiter. "Keep the change as a tip."
The waiter was overjoyed; the meal barely cost a thousand dollars, and the tip was several hundred dollars more—more than a month's salary for him. How could he not be happy?
Ten minutes later, Yao Bao led Jiang Chen to a grand villa estate. The estate was imposing and luxurious, surrounded by high walls, with several armed guards stationed at the entrance.
Jiang Chen walked steadily towards the estate, ignoring the guards at the gate as if they were air.
"Who are you?" One of the guards stepped forward, blocking Jiang Chen's path and coldly asked.
"I’m here to see General Wang Meng," Jiang Chen replied casually.
"Did General Wang Meng invite you? If not, you can't enter. Please leave immediately, or don’t blame us for being rude," the guard said, becoming alert as he raised his rifle and glared at Jiang Chen.
Without saying another word, Jiang Chen continued walking forward. This infuriated the guards, who were about to open fire when a surge of energy radiated from Jiang Chen, transforming into wind blades that sliced through the guards' hands, causing their rifles to clatter to the ground.
"Inner Energy unleashed! He... he is the Master of Transformation?" The guards were utterly shocked.
Next, Jiang Chen reached out and gently pushed against the heavy iron gate. It flew open as if struck by an immense force.
The commotion at the entrance triggered alarms throughout the estate. Inside, Wang Meng, who had been enjoying a cigar, was startled and hurriedly rushed towards the entrance with his men.
Wang Meng stormed in with fury. Upon seeing Jiang Chen surrounded by his guards, his face darkened to an extreme.
"What are you waiting for? Shoot him!" Wang Meng shouted in exasperation; how dare someone cause trouble in his territory!
Gunfire erupted, but Jiang Chen remained standing without flinching. Yao Bao stood beside him, terrified and crouched on the ground. After a barrage of gunfire, he cautiously lifted his head only to be stunned.
The bullets hung suspended in mid-air as if an invisible force held them in place.
Wang Meng stared in disbelief; he thought he was dreaming. It was impossible for bullets to simply stop in mid-air.
With a gentle wave of his hand, Jiang Chen sent the bullets back along their original path, killing all of Wang Meng's subordinates.
In less than ten seconds, Wang Meng found himself alone, staring at his fallen men in shock.
"Spare me!" Wang Meng quickly knelt down; it was too late for mercy now.
"Spare you? On what grounds?" Jiang Chen asked coolly. This wasn’t his home country; in a place like this, he had no qualms about killing.
"I’ll give you access to Kunshan's vault!" Wang Meng hurriedly offered.
"Killing you means that vault is mine too!" Jiang Chen replied.
"Please, please! I still have two Huaxia People! If you kill me, they'll starve to death in the secret place where we have them locked up!" Wang Meng pleaded desperately.
"Oh, two Huaxia People? Why did you capture them?" This was a new development. Jiang Chen considered the possibility; since Wang Meng's men had already been killed by him, killing Wang Meng might indeed lead to the starvation of those he had imprisoned.
"They are special personnel from your country, acting as undercover agents for us. That's why our drug sales into your Huaxia Nation have always been unsuccessful and frequently intercepted by the authorities. Meanwhile, our drugs have been quite popular in Island Nation. Just last month, an agent from Island Nation revealed to me that they were undercover agents sent by your Huaxia Nation, which is why I captured them and started torturing them slowly!" Wang Meng explained briefly.
Two undercover agents? They must be rescued. "Alright, I'll spare your life for now! First, take me to see the vault, then show me those two Huaxia People. If you're lying, I'm afraid I will kill you at any moment!"
"I wouldn't dare!" Wang Meng stood up and led Jiang Chen and Yao Bao to the vault.
Inside the Kunshan vault, gold was piled high in two heaps, along with many Antique Calligraphy and Paintings and jewelry artworks. The total value of these items was at least several billion Huaxia Coins. Kunshan had indeed amassed considerable wealth.
Although there was a lot of money in the Kunshan vault, it clearly belonged to Jiang Chen now. "Not bad. Let's leave these here for now; I'll come back to collect them later. Yao Bao, you stay here for the time being," Jiang Chen said as he sealed the vault.
Having secured the Kunshan vault, Jiang Chen instructed Wang Meng to take him to see the two Huaxia People.
Wang Meng brought Jiang Chen to a house with an iron door. Just as he was about to find the key, Jiang Chen pointed his hand, and the heavy iron lock broke instantly.
Opening the iron door, Jiang Chen walked in and found a man and a woman in their forties, both severely beaten and lying on the ground in a weakened state with chains on their feet. If no one came to rescue them, they might die within a day or two.
"Why are they kept together? Shouldn't they be separated?" Jiang Chen asked angrily.
"They're a married couple!" Wang Meng replied nervously, wanting to go and unlock their chains after answering.
Jiang Chen stopped him and said, "I'll do it." Although he was furious at the sight of their condition, he had no intention of killing Wang Meng just yet; he might be useful when dealing with the rescued couple.
Jiang Chen easily unlocked their chains and infused them with a bit of his vital energy. The couple woke up immediately.
"Don't be afraid; I am also Huaxia People and here to rescue you. Wang Meng is under my control now; just listen to me," Jiang Chen reassured them. "Wang Meng, take us to the villa; find two sets of clothes for them to change into and get some food ready. After that, I’ll talk to them!"
The middle-aged couple was extremely grateful for their rescue but were surprised at how young Jiang Chen looked!
In the villa, after changing into clean clothes and washing up, the couple came into the living room. Upon seeing them, Jiang Chen felt a familiar sensation but decided to let them eat first to replenish their energy before questioning them.
"May I ask your names? How did you end up here? Why did Wang Meng capture you?"
"My name is Jin Liu; this is my wife Mei Dong. We are originally from Fujian Province. In pursuit of wealth, we took risks and started trafficking drugs over a decade ago. However, ten years ago, our drug trafficking group suffered a devastating blow; we managed to escape and sought refuge with General Wang Meng here. But for some unknown reason, last month General Wang Meng suddenly captured us!" the middle-aged man explained.
