Sitting in the bar, I vented my frustrations to my best friend, "Is he Liu Xia Hui?"
I had done everything, yet he still wouldn't budge.
My friend looked at me and said, "You've really given up."
"He doesn't like me."
Huo Ze is a tough nut to crack; I can't manage it, but I can't just ignore it either.
I recounted everything that had happened to her, and my friend smirked, "Dealing with a man like that just requires a little effort."
I sighed, "How do I even try?"
She grabbed a nearby guy and pushed him into my arms. Looking into the puppy-like wet eyes of the guy, I understood immediately.
I couldn't help but smirk, "Good little brother, sorry to put you through this."

In the nightclub, lights flickered as I danced happily with Gu Zhou.
Suddenly, my wrist was grabbed tightly.
Huo Ze.
I rubbed my eyes to make sure it wasn't an illusion.
I thought he might check the surveillance footage, but I never expected him to come in person.
With a cold expression, he pulled me by the hand toward the exit.
I struggled free and said, "Let go of me. If you're boring, don't stop others from having fun."
"What gives you the right to control me?"
Huo Ze stopped in his tracks. "Yao Yao, I'm your husband."
I stubbornly replied, "Not anymore since we're divorced. I can find another man; I can do whatever I want."
Huo Ze didn't say anything but radiated an unexpected chill. His usually gentle and calm demeanor showed signs of turbulence as if I had crossed a line.
I shrank back, wanting to leave on my own.
But in the next moment, Huo Ze simply lifted me up and carried me outside.
My best friend and the little puppy silently gave me a thumbs-up, and I understood my friend's lip reading: "Good luck."
Huo Ze's strides were large, and his anger was even more intense.
No matter how much I shouted or hit him, he remained indifferent.
I glared at him from the passenger seat and said, "Don't think just because you're good-looking and wealthy, you can do whatever you want."
Huo Ze leaned closer, his arms bracing on either side of me, his masculine aura overwhelming.
I shrank back into his embrace and said, "What are you doing? Hitting someone is against the law."
In the end, Huo Ze fastened my seatbelt for me, started the engine, and we drove in silence.
I bit my lower lip, regretting that I hadn't been more assertive earlier.
When we got home, Huo Ze turned on the lights and pushed me onto the bed.
He stood at the edge of the bed, his fingers unbuttoning one by one, revealing a well-defined chest.
The metallic sound of his belt made me snap back to reality.
I clicked my tongue, realizing things were getting a bit out of control.
Huo Ze leaned over me and said, "Did you say I wasn't fulfilling my marital duties? Why are you hiding now?"
I wrapped myself in the blanket and replied, "I don't care anymore."
His breath enveloped me as I defiantly met his gaze; we faced off for a moment.
"Really don't care?"
Huo Ze's lips pressed tightly together as his clear, magnetic voice brushed against my ear.
I could hear my heartbeat clearly—thump thump.
I held my ground and replied, "Yeah."
He looked at me for a while before suddenly grabbing my hand, guiding it over his clothing as I slowly moved upward—warm and hard.
My mind exploded with confusion; mist gathered in front of my eyes—it was hazy. Huo Ze was crossing the line.
His voice was low and husky as he continuously attacked my psychological defenses: "Come on, hmm?"
I give up; I can't compete with him.
He lay on the bed, looking like he was at my mercy, just as he had in my dreams.
But before long,
I asked him with a choked voice, "What should I do?"
Amidst the rustling sounds, Huo Ze helplessly said, "Forget it, I'll handle it."
...
The next day, when I opened my eyes, I met Huo Ze's teasing gaze.
He was lying on his side, propping his head up with his hand, looking refreshed. "Still feeling unwell?"
Thinking back to last night when Huo Ze kept asking me if I was going out to find a man again and if I dared to say such things, irritation surged within me, and I buried myself under the covers.
The sun today is so blinding!
Ding ding.
Huo Ze is going to cook for me; he really went all out. What a wonderful day.
Hehe.
