I was taken aback. "Who tricked you?"
Leiming Yuan gritted his teeth. "My master."
I asked in confusion, "Your master? Who is your master?"
He replied, "His name is Fan Tianxing, a renowned scholar from Vajra State. When I was studying in Vajra State, I followed him to learn chemistry and electronic engineering."
I was surprised. "You are a student of Fan Tianxing?"
Leiming Yuan nodded. "Yes."
I said, "Then why would your master trick you?"
Leiming Yuan sighed and said, "He tricked me into returning to Xiazhu, claiming he needed my help to invest in a project."
I asked, "What project?"
Leiming Yuan replied, "He didn't say much, just told me to come back and that he would notify me once he had secured the funding."
I frowned. "So you just came back like that?"
Leiming Yuan smiled bitterly. "At first, I didn't plan to return, but he wrote me several letters saying the investment for this project was significant and required my expertise. He also mentioned that if the project succeeded, it could elevate Xiazhu's manufacturing level by at least fifty years!"

I interjected, "So you came back?"

I asked, "What happened after you returned?"

I was surprised and asked, "Disappeared?"

I exclaimed, "So you’re homeless now?"

I inquired, "Are you planning to go back to Vajra State?"
Leiming Yuan shook his head, "I don't want to go back."
I was puzzled and asked, "Why not?"
Leiming Yuan explained, "Even though my master deceived me, it is a fact that he invested in building a factory in Xiazhu, and he truly needs my help. So I must stay and make this project successful!"
I frowned and said, "What can you do here?"
Leiming Yuan thought for a moment and replied, "I can be a Shopkeeper."
I questioned, "Shopkeeper?"
Leiming Yuan nodded, "I can help you design machinery, manufacture medicines, and even assist you in making firearms!"
I was surprised and said, "You can make firearms too?"
Leiming Yuan proudly replied, "Of course! I once won third place in a firearms competition when I was in Vajra State!"
I looked at him, suddenly feeling a spark of interest.
We at the Shadow Garb Bureau are best known for weapon manufacturing. If he truly understands firearms, he might be able to provide us with some assistance.
I asked, "What kind of firearms can you make?"
Leiming Yuan said, "I can make a Repeater Firearm!"
I exclaimed, "A Repeater Firearm? You can really make one?"
Leiming Yuan responded, "Of course! When I was in Vajra State, I made one with my teacher. Although it can't compare to your Long Musket from Xiazhu, its accuracy is much higher than your Repeater Crossbow!"
I was excited and asked, "You can really make it?"
Leiming Yuan declared proudly, "Absolutely!"
