This is the last registration. There are still people queuing at the New Moon Sect, but noticeably fewer than before. The Fairy Market in Mountain Valley is still open, perhaps because it's the final opportunity, and the number of cultivators coming in to trade has actually increased compared to earlier. 0

Xu Feng entered the Fairy Market alone. This matter concerns his own hidden cards, so it’s better not to let Xu Feng and others know about it. 0

He went straight to the fat man's stall, where the fat man was still busy. Perhaps new goods had arrived, as there were seven or eight people crowded inside the stall. Xu Feng took a quick look around outside, and the fat man spotted him among the crowd and waved for him to wait. 0

Xu Feng knew it wasn't the right time, so he turned and left. 0

Along the way, shouts echoed around him. 0

"Come buy! Super powerful attack talismans! One talisman in hand, and you can dominate!" 0

"With this defensive vest, you will be invincible in this selection competition." 0

"Feeling weak? No worries! Try my Universal Strengthening Pill." 0

Xu Feng was currently broke, and various cultivation products dazzled him. He wanted to buy something but felt powerless. He even encountered the Shape-Shifting Pill he had been looking for, but its price of thirty spirit stones made him hesitate. Fortunately, he had already escaped from the Wan Jian Sect's sphere of influence, so their pursuit wouldn't be as relentless. 0

After wandering for nearly an hour, he returned to the fat man's shop, where the fat man finally had some space. 0

There were only two of them now. The fat man pulled out a delicate short bow from his storage bag. Xu Feng hurriedly took it and placed it into his own storage bag. Although this wasn't a high-end magical artifact, cultivators rarely used bows. 0

Through spatial imagery, Xu Feng could see this bow as well. It was a light golden short war bow designed in the shape of a dragon, with its head and tail connected by the bowstring. The bowstring was also made of light gold, making the entire short bow resemble a poised golden dragon, fierce and majestic. 0

Xu Feng didn't need to test the bow; just holding it lightly caused various information about it to surge into his mind. This was a talisman bow, which could also be considered a magical artifact. The bow contained powerful magical energy; ordinary swords couldn't harm it at all. Its strength was at least ten times greater than that of the previous "low-quality" one. With Xu Feng's current strength at Qi Refinement First Layer, it would be utterly impossible for him to break this bow. 0

Weapons are categorized into different levels; in Modern Clerk's classification, they are divided into four grades: magical artifacts, spiritual artifacts, treasures, and Lingbao. Each grade is further divided into upper, middle, and lower tiers. 0

This talisman bow is classified as a middle-grade magical artifact, slightly higher than an ordinary Magic Sword. With this bow in hand, cultivators at Qi Refining Third Layer would have almost no means to defend themselves; if an arrow were shot at them, escaping would be luck; not escaping would be normal. 0

Seeing Xu Feng's delighted expression, the fat man knew that the deal was practically done. He casually pulled out two quivers of arrows; Xu Feng immediately accepted them. 0

The two quivers contained fifty arrows each. The shafts were also made of light yellow material and were no longer than two feet long—far more exquisite than those wolf-tooth arrows. Each shaft was engraved with several runes containing significant spiritual energy. 0

The fat man cleverly said, "Friend, this bow was specially crafted by my family’s Refiner just for you. After finishing this bow and arrows, our Refining Qi master spent most of his energy on it; he won't recover for at least ten days or half a month. Therefore, our Refiner even gave it a special name: Sadness." 0

"Sad Arrow?" Xu Feng almost laughed out loud; why did that name sound so familiar? 0

"Uh," the fat man did not expect Xu Feng to add two more words, and he replied, "Sure, that works too. It's quite good." 0

Xu Feng tossed over a Mid-Grade Spirit Stone, happily concluding the transaction. Before parting, the fat man told Xu Feng that his name was Zhou Ba, a disciple from a cultivation family in Xian City, known for their expertise in Refining Tools. He mentioned that if Xu Feng needed anything in the future, he could look for him. 0

In the Modern Clerk, there are many families like Zhou Ba's, mostly disciples from various Major Sects who have established their own sects and practice cultivation as a family unit in pursuit of longevity. These families inherit various skills from the previous generation, including Refining Tools, alchemy, and talisman crafting. 0

Upon returning to his residence, Xu Feng found that he and the other three were not in the room. The attendant did not dare to ask and naturally did not know their whereabouts. 0

In the evening, Xu Feng stumbled back in. There were no traces of blood on him, but judging by his complexion, it was clear he had sustained serious internal injuries. 0

Xu Feng ushered him into the room and took out a Revitalizing Pill, handing it to Xu Feng. "Brother Feng, see if this medicine is useful. If it is, you should take it first." This was a pill from Wan Jian Sect, but it couldn't guarantee to cure all ailments. 0

Xu Feng took the pill and looked at it. "This is a Revitalizing Pill; it's considered an average medicine in Modern Clerk. You keep it; I have my own methods." This was a polite refusal, implying that he wouldn't take such cheap goods. 0

Xu Feng was not angry; after all, one could not expect a low-level disciple from Wan Jian Sect to possess miraculous pills. 0

After resting for a while, Xu Feng recounted what had happened. 0

Originally, they were practicing in their residence when they suddenly heard several mournful cries coming from outside. Having been to Beast Wasteland before, they recognized it as the sound of a Second-Level Spirit Beast and could tell it was seriously injured. 0

The four of them rushed out of the house and saw a White Eagle flying unsteadily over the roof. It called out as it flew and needed to rest every fifty meters due to its evident injuries. They immediately decided to capture this White Eagle; it was very rare. Although it was only a second-level beast, its price in Fairy Market was at least five hundred spirit stones and often hard to come by. Given its condition, they figured capturing it wouldn't require much effort. 0

As they chased after the eagle, it noticed them pursuing and desperately fled until it reached a hill outside the city where it finally could not fly anymore and collapsed on the ground gasping for breath. 0

Just as they were about to catch it easily, six people suddenly emerged from behind the hill. Most were cultivators from Refining Qi's third room, with one being at the fourth level. The six had unfriendly expressions and looked at Xu Feng and his companions with mockery as if they were watching idiots. 0

Xu Feng's experience told him that things were about to go wrong; he inwardly cursed himself for being careless. Sure enough, one of the six stepped forward—a Sharp-Mouthed Cultivator—who picked up the fallen White Eagle and shouted dramatically, "Oh my dear! What happened to you? Who did this to you?" Then he glared fiercely at Xu Feng and pointed at him. "It must be you! You bastards hurt my White Eagle! What are you going to do about it?" 0

Seeing this situation unfold, they realized they had been set up. However, there were too many of them with significant differences in strength; fighting back would surely lead to bad consequences. Wang Yuexin said, "Fellow cultivators, this is a misunderstanding; we did not injure this White Eagle." 0

The Sharp-Mouthed Cultivator retorted angrily, "If you didn't hurt it, why are you chasing after it? Enough nonsense—500 spirit stones will settle this matter." 0

Wang Yuexin wanted to explain further when Xu Feng pulled him back and said, "No need; they've been plotting this all along; we've fallen into their trap." 0

Yan Gao and Yan Xing were usually quiet but this time remained silent as well; without hesitation, they launched an attack. Yan Gao first used a flash talisman—the same kind used when dealing with Qian Shixiong—but one of the six countered with an odd talisman that blew away Yan Gao's flash talisman. 0

A fight broke out among them; however, due to the vast difference in strength, the four were quickly captured. Yan Gao and Yan Xing each had a leg broken in the scuffle. 0

The Sharp-Mouthed Cultivator acted as the official spokesperson for the group, lifting Xu Feng and saying, "Look at you, still acting tough. Go back and prepare 500 spirit stones. Whether you stole or robbed, bring the spirit stones here tonight. Otherwise, you can wait for your brothers to collect your corpse." After that, he stepped on Xu Feng a couple of times before the group left. 0

When Xu Feng left, he was not only injured but also completely robbed. 0

After hearing Xu Feng's "incident report," Xu Feng thought to himself that he had encountered a local bully who used similar tactics to a scam. The five of them were alone here, and even if they pooled their resources, they probably only had around 500 spirit stones. The robbers had first cleaned him out before demanding an additional 500. 0

It was clearly impossible to gather 500 spirit stones on short notice, and the robbers likely didn't hold out much hope either. If they didn't see the spirit stones by nightfall, it was very likely they would carry out their threat. Although they were strangers, they had fought enemies together; it would be hard to just stand by and watch someone die. 0

"Brother Feng, do you have any ideas?" Xu Feng asked. 0

"What other ideas could we have? We are not disciples from a prestigious sect who can seek help; we are just casual cultivators," Xu Feng sighed. 0

"Since that's the case," Xu Feng thought for a moment and said lightly, "then leave this matter to me. Whether we can save him depends on their luck." 0

Xu Feng was taken aback, looking at this Qi Refinement First Layer novice cultivator as if he were crazy. 0
