As its name suggests, Flat Top Mountain has a flat summit.
It was none other than Shen Congdao, the founding master of the Pingdao Sect, who flattened Flat Top Mountain. According to legend, when Shen Congdao traveled here, he was captivated by the picturesque scenery and favorable feng shui, but one towering mountain marred the view. In a fit of anger, he drew his blade and cleaved the unsightly giant mountain in two, thus creating what is now known as Flat Top Mountain.
Shen Congdao also established the Pingdao Sect at Flat Top Mountain.
There is another version of the story that suggests the Pingdao Sect originally started as a family power that gradually grew stronger and built its sect at Flat Top Mountain, subsequently gaining prominence in Zheguo. Which version is true remains a matter of debate among the people.
At this moment, a cultivator appeared at the entrance of the Pingdao Sect. A disciple on guard approached to inquire, "May I ask how to address you, senior? What brings you to the Pingdao Sect?"

Just then, a sneaky girl emerged from behind the rockery—it was Xu Ruchu.
Xu Feng broke into a sweat; the dignified Fourth Young Master of Pingdao Sect was actually playing hide-and-seek with the eight or nine-year-old Xu Ruchu.

Shen Gong smiled and replied, "I should be thanking you. If it weren't for your timely warning, my Fourth Brother might not have made it to today." Shen Qian had nearly broken down when Xu Ruchu was killed.
Xu Feng changed the subject and asked, "What movements have there been from Wuwei Academy?"
"What movements could they have?" Shen Gong said. "This is Daming Lake, not their Yuan Lake. We moved the person here, and they won't receive any news at all."
After descending two flights of stairs, they arrived at a partitioned wall. Shen Nan pressed a few spots on the wall, which opened up a door. Inside, there was a stone bed with a person lying quietly on it, their face a sickly green—it was Chen Erhuo.
