After leaving the cave, Yuen Ye hurried down the mountain towards Qingfeng City. The moonlight bathed him, casting a long shadow that swayed with his steps in the mountains.
When Chuyi woke up, she felt weak and sore all over, her head heavy and foggy. Struggling to open her eyes, she found herself lying in a soft nest of grass, alone in the cave.
"Where is Yuen Ye?" Chuyi's heart raced as she quickly crawled out of the grass nest, nearly falling to the ground due to her lack of strength.
She steadied herself and looked around, noticing that everything in the cave was as it usually was—no signs of a struggle and no notes left behind.
"Could he have just gone out to gather herbs?" Chuyi felt slightly reassured, but an inexplicable unease lingered in her mind.
She walked to the cave entrance and gazed down at the brightly lit town below, filled with confusion and worry.

Meanwhile, Yuen Ye had arrived outside Qingfeng City. He looked up at the bustling town before him, feeling a mix of emotions.
This was his first time stepping into a human city; everything felt so strange yet fascinating. The streets were crowded with people, filled with the sounds of vendors calling out and laughter ringing in the air, a stark contrast to the quiet mountains where he lived.
Yuen Ye took a deep breath to suppress his anxiety and stepped through the city gates.
He made his way to the largest apothecary in town and asked the shopkeeper about any elixirs that could help restore spiritual beasts.
"Sir, I'm afraid we don't have that kind of elixir here," said the shopkeeper, an elderly man in his fifties. He scrutinized Yuen Ye with a glint of interest in his eyes. "However, I've heard that a remarkable person has recently appeared in town. He claims to be an immortal master from overseas, skilled in various mystical arts. Perhaps he knows what you're looking for."
"Oh? Do you know where this immortal master is now?" Yuen Ye asked eagerly.
"He's at Cloud Inn to the east of the city," the shopkeeper pointed towards the east with a knowing smile. "But be warned, this master has a peculiar temperament and charges high fees. You should be prepared."
Yuen Ye thanked the shopkeeper and turned towards the eastern part of the city. He silently vowed to find this immortal master at all costs, willing to pay any price to heal Chuyi.
Cloud Inn is one of the most luxurious inns in Qingfeng City, frequented by affluent guests.
Yuen Ye arrived at the inn's entrance and saw a young man dressed in blue sitting leisurely in the center of the hall, savoring fragrant tea.
The young man had a face like a jade crown and eyes like bright stars, exuding an otherworldly aura that made it clear he was no ordinary person.
"May I ask if you are a celestial master from overseas?" Yuen Ye approached and cupped his hands in greeting.
The young man looked up, glanced at Yuen Ye, and a slight smile curved at the corners of his mouth. "I am Yun Jing. May I ask what brings you here, young sir?"
"I am Yuen Ye." Yuen Ye paused to gather his thoughts and explained his purpose as succinctly as possible. "I have a severely injured Spirit Fox that needs your assistance."
Yun Jing set down his teacup and regarded Yuen Ye with interest. This person was simply dressed but radiated an aura that was not of this world, and his words revealed genuine concern for the Spirit Fox.
"Oh? The Spirit Fox is indeed a rare creature. Could you elaborate on the situation?" Yun Jing leaned slightly forward, encouraging Yuen Ye to continue.
Seeing this, Yuen Ye recounted how he encountered Chuyi and the circumstances of her injury in detail.
After listening, Yun Jing furrowed his brow slightly and tapped his fingers lightly on the table, as if deep in thought.
"The situation you described is indeed somewhat tricky," Yun Jing mused for a moment before looking at Yuen Ye. "However, I can accompany you to investigate further, but..."
"But what?" Seeing Yun Jing hesitate, Yuen Ye felt a twinge of anxiety.
Yun Jing chuckled softly and replied slowly, "It's just that I travel far and wide to heal the sick and save lives, and I usually only charge for my services. I wonder if you are prepared for this?"
Yuen Ye recalled that he had hurried down the mountain this time and did not carry much silver with him. Feeling a bit embarrassed, he lowered his head and took out a jade pendant from his pocket, handing it to Yun Jing with both hands.
"Master, this is a jade pendant passed down from my ancestors. Although it may not be considered a valuable item, it represents my sincerity. I hope you will accept it."
Yun Jing took the pendant and examined it closely, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. The pendant appeared ordinary, but it contained spiritual energy, clearly not an ordinary item.
"In that case, I shall graciously accept it," Yun Jing said as he tucked the pendant into his sleeve and stood up. "There is no time to waste; let us set off now."
Seeing that Yun Jing agreed to go, Yuen Ye felt a wave of relief wash over him. He quickly got up to thank him and followed Yun Jing out of the inn.
The two rode the horse rented by Yuen Ye from the inn, galloping towards Lingyun Mountain.
Along the way, Yun Jing remained silent, gazing deeply into the distance, lost in thought.
Yuen Ye wanted to ask several times but was deterred by Yun Jing's aloof aura.
As the sun set and night fell, they finally returned to the cave located halfway up the mountain.
Yuen Ye jumped off the horse first and hurried into the cave, only to find that Chuyi, who should have been lying in the grass nest, was nowhere to be seen.
"Chuyi?" Yuen Ye exclaimed in shock, quickly searching around but still found no trace of Chuyi.
"What are you looking for?" Yun Jing's voice came from the entrance of the cave, laced with curiosity.
Turning to look at Yun Jing, Yuen Ye said anxiously, "My Spirit Fox is missing!"
Upon hearing this, Yun Jing furrowed his brows and stepped into the cave, scanning the surroundings.
"There doesn't seem to be any signs of a struggle here," Yun Jing observed as he looked around thoughtfully. "Perhaps it ran out on its own?"
"Impossible!" Yuen Ye firmly denied, "It is seriously injured and cannot possibly run away by itself."
Yun Jing remained silent and walked over to the grass nest where Chuyi had originally been lying, examining it closely.
"Look!" Yuen Ye pointed at a tuft of white fur in the nest, urgency in their voice, "This is its fur; it must be nearby!"
Following Yuen Ye's direction, Yun Jing indeed found a tuft of snow-white fur in the grass nest.
He bent down, picked up the fur, and gently sniffed it at his nose; a familiar scent rushed towards him.
"It really is her..." Yun Jing murmured, a complex expression flashing in his eyes.
Seeing this, Yuen Ye grew even more anxious and quickly asked, "Master, do you know my Chuyi?"
Yun Jing lifted his head to look at Yuen Ye, a strange light flickering in his eyes.
" Yuen Ye, take a good look at me. Do you remember anything?"
