White Wei took a deep breath, her tense nerves slightly relaxing as she turned to Su Qing and said, "We are temporarily safe."
Su Qing patted her chest, letting out a long sigh, a hint of fear still lingering on her face. "Grandma, you are amazing! I thought..."
"You thought we would perish in that asteroid belt?" White Wei interjected, her eyes showing no signs of panic, only a calmness that came from having weathered many storms.
"Yes..." Su Qing nodded, turning to look out the window, but her gaze was drawn to the flashing red alarm lights in the cockpit. "Grandma, look..."
Following Su Qing's gaze, White Wei's previously calm expression gradually turned serious. She quickly operated the controls on the console, her brow slightly furrowing. "The spaceship was damaged while passing through the asteroid belt; the energy system has malfunctioned. We need to find a safe place for repairs as soon as possible."
Hearing this, Su Qing couldn't help but feel anxious. "What should we do now?"
After pondering for a moment, White Wei brought up the spaceship's star map navigation system and pointed to an area marked by a blue nebula on the screen. "Your grandfather left me some information before he left Earth; it might help us."
White Wei pulled up an email, which contained a simple message: "By the time you read this email, I have embarked on my journey to 'Azure Blue.' If you wish to go as well, follow the star map coordinates I left behind to find the planet called 'Hope.'"
"'Hope' planet?" Su Qing murmured, her eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.
"That's right. It is a planet discovered by your grandfather, with an environment very similar to Earth, rich in resources and suitable for human habitation. He hoped that one day we could reunite there." Tears shimmered in White Wei's eyes as her tone filled with nostalgia and sadness.
Looking at White Wei, Su Qing felt a mix of emotions. She had never seen White Wei so vulnerable, like a fragile glass doll that could shatter at any moment. She grasped White Wei's hand and softly said, "Grandma, we will definitely find 'Hope' planet and fulfill Grandpa's wish."
Bai Wei grasped Su Qing's hand firmly, hope rekindling in her eyes. "Good child, let's work hard together!"
The spaceship sailed through the vastness of space, with Bai Wei and Su Qing taking turns to rest, seizing every moment to repair the ship and attempting to decipher the route to "Azure" based on the information left by Lu Yunshen.
Su Qing watched her busy grandmother with admiration. She had never imagined that her grandmother, over a hundred years old, could possess such strong willpower and drive.
"Grandma, why do you insist on going to Azure?" Su Qing couldn't help but ask; this question had been troubling her for a long time.
Bai Wei paused her work and turned to look at Su Qing, a complex light flickering in her eyes. "Because there is the most precious thing in my life."
"The most precious thing?" Su Qing was even more puzzled.
Bai Wei remained silent for a moment before pulling up a photograph. In it, a young couple beamed with happiness—Bai Wei and Lu Yunshen in their youth.
"This is a photo of your grandfather and me when we were young. At that time, we were both dreamers eager to explore the mysteries of the universe and find a new home for humanity," Bai Wei said, pointing at Lu Yunshen in the photo, her eyes filled with tenderness. "He was a genius but also a madman; he would give everything to realize his dreams."
Su Qing gazed at the photo, feeling a surge of emotions. For the first time, she truly understood that her grandmother had once been young and had experienced such passionate love.
"What happened next?" Su Qing pressed on, wanting to know more about Bai Wei and Lu Yunshen's story.
"Later, when Azure was discovered, your grandfather resolutely joined the Interstellar Immigration Program and became one of the first pioneers to go to Azure," Bai Wei's voice choked slightly. "We promised each other that once he settled on Azure, he would come back to get me."
"Then why..." Su Qing hesitated, unsure how to continue her question.
"He broke his promise and never returned." Bai Wei's tears finally flowed down her cheeks. "For four hundred years, I had no news of him. It wasn't until that email that I realized he had long...”
Bai Wei was sobbing uncontrollably, and Su Qing gently embraced her, filled with sadness and compassion. She finally understood that Bai Wei's determination to go to the Blue Planet was not just to fulfill Lu Yunshen's last wish, but also to search for that lost love and to make up for the regrets in her heart.
