"Dammit! You all deserve to die!" Ye Mingshang shouted, tears streaming down his face as he charged forward, swinging the axe he used for chopping wood. With one swing, he knocked down a man in black.
Liu Da Niang is dead, Li Ge is dead, Uncle Hai is dead; one familiar figure after another fell forever. He was filled with hatred, hatred for those bastards who killed them; he hated those who destroyed the peace of this place, the Evil Spirit. So he wanted to kill, to wipe out these detestable invaders and send them all to hell.
"Die! All of you die! You all better die!!!" Ye Mingshang yelled with bloodshot eyes, swinging his axe down again and again, reaping the lives of his enemies.
Finally, his actions caught the attention of a Black Iron Leader from the enemy side.
The man's gaze sharpened as he gripped his knife tightly and flew toward him at high speed.
"Die!"
"Watch out!"
A flash of the blade appeared, and Ye Mingshang turned around just in time for a spray of blood to hit his face. A familiar figure stood before him with a smile, a deadly blade piercing through her chest.
"Live well..." the girl left behind these last words, ending her young life.
"Hmph! Foolish emotions." The Black Iron Leader snorted coldly and prepared to strike Ye Mingshang down again. But suddenly, he felt a wave of unease; the indifference in his eyes turned into terror.
"They're dead... they're all dead... the ones I love, the ones who loved me... since that's the case, then let them all die..."
A desolate and lifeless aura emanated from this young man as a storm of power surged outward. The strong winds blew through, turning the corpses of enemies on the ground into dust, while the living enemies were torn apart in agony.
"You all... deserve to die!!!"
...
When he regained consciousness again, the Celestial Abode had become a wasteland. Everyone was dead—completely wiped out, not a single person left. The enemies had vanished without a trace; he didn't know that they had finished killing and fled, thinking he was merely overlooked.
"Dammit!!!"
Finding Mengyu's corpse, she was already cold...
Looking at this beautiful face, Ye Mingshang shed painful tears, a fire burning in his heart, a sharp pain gnawing at him.
"Ah!!!"
As the scene shifted, when clarity returned, he found himself on a battlefield, clad in armor, standing at the forefront of countless troops. Behind him were thousands of soldiers, and in front lay the enemy in droves.
"Kill!!!" Ye Mingshang shouted uncontrollably as he charged forward. Wielding his long knife, Reaper took the lives of one enemy after another.
Regardless of the soldiers behind him, he alone charged into the chaotic ranks, like a machine harvesting lives, slaughtering vibrant souls.
"Old Thief, don't run!" Ye Mingshang roared, leaping off his warhorse and directly confronting the enemy general a hundred meters away. In the face of the opponent's terrified gaze, a flash of cold light appeared as he claimed the enemy's head.
This battle was a great victory...
The scene shifted again to a resplendent hall where a middle-aged man dressed in dragon robes with a long beard sat on a high platform. He looked at Ye Mingshang with satisfaction, sizing him up for a moment before speaking: "Night Love, you have achieved great merit. What reward do you desire?"
Ye Mingshang's spirit jolted as he uncontrollably replied, "I wish to eliminate all evil in the world and bring peace to this realm!"
"Good! Good! Good!" The emperor responded with three affirmations, clearly pleased. He proclaimed loudly, "Today I appoint Ye Mingshang as General of Pacification, granting him an army of one hundred thousand and the Tiger Head Silver Armor. Go forth to the northwest of Zhuolu for the prosperity and stability of our Tang Dynasty!"
"Thank you, Your Majesty!" Ye Mingshang clasped his fists in acceptance.
Scenes unfolded like a movie; he was merely an observer yet could do nothing.
In the days that followed, Ye Mingshang led his troops into the northern desert, often charging alone into the midst of chaos, taking the heads of enemy generals and instilling fear in all who faced him.
Several years later, in the grand court, still resplendent, stood the middle-aged emperor with a long beard.
"Hahaha! Night Love, you have made great contributions in quelling the chaos. I bestow upon you the title of National General, grant you an army of one million, and present you with the Dragon Battle Armor!"
"Thank you, Your Majesty!"
Years passed again, and still in this magnificent palace, the middle-aged emperor had aged somewhat, with gray hair at his temples and his beard mixed with white strands. The curse marks at the corners of his eyes had also appeared.
"Night Love, you have served the country well by repelling foreign enemies and ensuring the prosperity of our Tang Dynasty. Today, I make you my brother and bestow upon you the title of Pacification King, grant you land and a residence, and present you with the Dragon Battle Robe..."
"Thank you, Brother Wang!"
"Hahaha! With a capable brother like you, who would dare to offend our Tang Dynasty? Hahaha!"
In no time, Ye Mingshang was flourishing, leading his formidable army through the wars of various nations. Alone on horseback, he charged into chaotic battles, easily claiming the heads of generals as if reaching into a bag. The enemies he killed trembled in fear and submitted to him.
Years went by, and Ye Mingshang became increasingly ruthless and fierce. The number of Undead he slaughtered reached millions, earning him the title of Killer Prince. Whenever mentioned, people would shudder in fear.
In the year 750, after more than thirty years of warfare, the Killer Prince had carved out a significant territory for himself. Whether enemies or fellow countrymen, anyone who spoke of him did so with trepidation.
In August of that same year, the late emperor Li Longji summoned Ye Mingshang.
"Why do you harbor such a heavy killing intent, dear brother? Shouldn't you consider holding back?"
"The great cause is not yet complete; I cannot stop killing!"
"What do you mean by 'great cause'?"
"To eradicate all evil in the world and slay all Evil Spirits!"
In the year 762, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang passed away. In the same year, Emperor Su, Li Heng, greatly reformed military power, seizing the military token from Ye Mingshang and accusing him of various crimes. He stripped Ye Mingshang, known as the Pacification King, of his title and lands, intending to execute him.
Later, Ye Mingshang used a substitute to take his place and died in his stead.
Li Heng ordered the historians to erase all traces of the Pacification King from history, ensuring that there would be no record of him.
By 762, Ye Mingshang was already in his sixties, yet he appeared no different from a young man, seemingly immortal.
Subsequently, Ye Mingshang fought under various identities across different regions, punishing evil and seeking secrets regarding the downfall of the Celestial Abode.
Time passed swiftly, and soon a hundred years had gone by. He did not return to officialdom but roamed among the common people, continuing his search for the mastermind behind the tragedy of the Celestial Abode. By this time, he was over 160 years old but still looked middle-aged.
Before long, another century passed. Ye Mingshang was nearing 300 years old and appeared like a man in his fifties. His temples had begun to show some gray hair as he sought masters to learn the Yin-Yang Technique, hoping to open the gates of the Underworld and consult the Book of Life and Death in search of Mengyu's reincarnation.
Twenty years later, Ye Mingshang had not found Mengyu's reincarnation but did uncover that the mastermind behind the Celestial Abode tragedy was a tribe from the Underworld, part of the royal family at that time.
In 982, Ye Mingshang sought out Song Taizu, Zhao Kuangyin, borrowing an army of a million to wage war against the Underworld.
By 987, the royal family was destroyed; all decision-makers were killed, resulting in heavy casualties in the Underworld with their numbers reduced by eighty percent, nearly leading to their annihilation. In October of that same year, Ye Mingshang succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
