“Lian'er? I don't know anyone named Lian'er.”
Bai Lian's tears fell even more fiercely as she bit her lip, looking at Gu Yuran with a pitiful expression. “Ran, how could you do this to me? We grew up together, you promised to take care of me for life. How could you forget me?”
“Enough.” Xu Nian'an, who had been silent, finally spoke. She looked coldly at Bai Lian, her tone carrying a hint of warning. “Mr. Gu has lost his memory; it’s normal for him not to remember you. Please do not disturb his rest any further.”
“You…” Bai Lian trembled with anger but didn't know what to say.
“Miss Bai, please leave. Do not affect my husband's rest,” Xu Nian'an said coldly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Bai Lian glared fiercely at Xu Nian'an before turning and leaving the hospital room.
After she left, Gu Yuran tugged at Xu Nian'an's sleeve and asked quietly, “Wife, who was she? Why did she look so fierce?”
“Just an insignificant person,” Xu Nian'an replied lightly, though a complex emotion flashed in her eyes.
Xiao Lin stood at the door of the hospital room, having witnessed the scene. She winked at Xu Nian'an and whispered, “President Xu, that white lotus is acting too fake. Does she think tears are pearls? A few drops will win back Manager Gu's heart?”
Xu Nian'an glanced at her without changing her expression, signaling her to keep quiet.
“However, President Xu, you should be careful. This white lotus is not someone to underestimate. I suspect she came with ill intentions this time,” Xiao Lin whispered, making a “be careful” gesture with her hand as she spoke.
Xu Nian'an remained silent, merely giving her a faint look.
Kobayashi felt uneasy under her gaze and awkwardly closed his mouth.
"I'll go take care of your discharge procedures," Xu Nian'an said to Gu Yuran, then turned and left the hospital room.
In the deep of night, only the faint sound of breathing filled the room.
Suddenly, Gu Yuran sat up abruptly, cold sweat covering his forehead, murmuring, "Don't... don't leave me... Lian'er..."
"Ran, what's wrong?" Xu Nian'an was startled awake by his sudden movement and quickly sat up, asking with concern.
Gu Yuran did not respond but held her tightly, repeatedly calling out a name: "Lian'er... Lian'er..."
Xu Nian'an's body stiffened slightly, and her face instantly turned pale.
She knew that was Gu Yuran's beloved white moonlight.
Even with amnesia, he still hadn't forgotten her.
Xu Nian'an's heart felt as if it were being pricked by needles, a dense pain spreading throughout.

Gu Yuran opened his eyes in a daze, still carrying a hint of confusion in his gaze.
"Wife, did I talk in my sleep again?" He looked at Xu Nian'an, his tone tinged with a bit of regret.
Xu Nian'an forced a smile, reaching out to gently smooth his tightly furrowed brows, and softly said, "It's okay, just go back to sleep."
Gu Yuran seemed tired as well; he closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep again.
Xu Nian'an watched his sleeping face, her expression complex and difficult to decipher, her mind filled with countless thoughts.
The next morning, after the doctor made his rounds, he indicated that Gu Yuran was recovering well and could proceed with the discharge procedures.
"Xiao Lin, please arrange for Manager Gu to be picked up today," Xu Nian'an said as she picked up her phone to call the Gu Family Old Residence.
