Bai Lian took a deep breath, suppressing the anger within her, and forced a smile on her face. "Thank you for the reminder."
She picked up her handbag and quickly walked out of the café. Once she got into the car, the smile on Bai Lian's face vanished instantly, replaced by a gloomy and fierce expression.
"Find out for me! I want to know the details of Gu Yuran's amnesia!" she commanded the person on the other end of the phone, her tone icy and piercing.
...
In the hospital room, sunlight streamed through the window, adding a touch of warmth to the space.
"Wife, do you think this airplane I built looks good?" Gu Yuran held up a model airplane made of building blocks, presenting it to Xu Nian'an with pride.
Xu Nian'an took the model and examined it closely, smiling as she said, "Yes, it looks great. Ran, you're really talented."
Hearing Xu Nian'an's praise, Gu Yuran beamed with joy, revealing two rows of white teeth like a child who had just received candy.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door, and Old Master Gu entered accompanied by the butler.
"Grandpa," Xu Nian'an stood up to greet him.
"Mm." Old Master Gu nodded slightly, his gaze landing on Gu Yuran. "How is Ran doing?"
"Grandpa, I'm fine now. Look, I can even build model airplanes!" Gu Yuran said as he waved the model in front of Old Master Gu.
Old Master Gu looked at his grandson, who had become somewhat childlike, shaking his head helplessly but with love in his eyes.
"Ran, focus on your recovery. Don't worry about the company; Grandpa is here for you," Old Master Gu said as he patted his shoulder earnestly.
Gu Yuran nodded obediently, "Mm, I understand, Grandpa."
Old Master Gu then looked at Xu Nian'an and said, "Nian'an, thank you for your hard work during this time. I entrust Ran to your care."
"Grandpa, this is what I should do," Xu Nian'an replied softly.
Old Master Gu nodded in satisfaction; he knew that Xu Nian'an was a good child who had been diligently taking care of Gu Yuran over the years.
"Alright, you both should rest well. I won't disturb you any longer." With that, Old Master Gu stood up and left the hospital room.

Late at night, Xu Nian'an sat by the bed, watching Gu Yuran sleep peacefully, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
She didn't know when Gu Yuran would regain his memory or what he would be like after that. But she knew that no matter what happened, she would stay by his side, never leaving him.
Suddenly, Gu Yuran turned over and murmured in his sleep, "Wife, don't leave me..."
Hearing his words in a dream, Xu Nian'an's heart trembled, and her eyes became slightly moist.
She leaned down gently, holding Gu Yuran's hand and whispered, "Ran, I will never leave you, not ever..."
Xu Nian'an's tender words flowed like a warm current into the depths of Gu Yuran's heart. He suddenly opened his eyes; they were no longer filled with confusion but rather clarity and pain. The forgotten memories surged back like a flood breaking through a dam, overwhelming his reason and emotions. He remembered everything: his past indifference and hurt towards Xu Nian'an, her endurance and sacrifices, and her unwavering companionship...
A huge sense of guilt overwhelmed him like a tide. He trembled as he spoke, his voice hoarse, "Nian'an..."
Xu Nian'an's heart jolted. She tightened her grip on Gu Yuran's hand slightly, a flicker of indescribable emotion flashing in her eyes.
Gu Yuran's gaze was filled with pain and self-reproach. He struggled to sit up in bed, wanting to touch Xu Nian'an's face, but his hand recoiled as if shocked.
"I'm sorry..." His voice trembled, as if he were enduring immense suffering. "I... I remember everything..."
He choked up, unable to continue, and could only hold Xu Nian'an's hand tightly, as if it were his only redemption.
"Nian'an, I'm sorry for all the things I did to you in the past..."
Xu Nian'an quietly looked at him, her eyes slightly moist but she remained silent.
"I know that no matter what I say now, I can't make up for the harm I've caused you..." Gu Yuran's tears finally fell uncontrollably. "I just... hope you can give me a chance, a chance to make amends..."
He lowered his head, afraid to look into Xu Nian'an's eyes, terrified of seeing disgust and hatred reflected back at him.
The ward was silent, only the sound of Gu Yuran's suppressed sobs and Xu Nian'an's soft breathing could be heard.
After an unknown amount of time, Xu Nian'an finally spoke. Her voice was very soft, yet it struck Gu Yuran like a thunderclap in his ear.
"It's good that you remember..."
Her tone was calm, devoid of any emotional fluctuation.
Gu Yuran suddenly looked up, incredulous as he stared at her. "Nian'an, you..."
"Let the past be the past." Xu Nian'an gently withdrew her hand. "You need to rest well now."
After saying that, she stood up and turned to leave.
"No! Nian'an!" Gu Yuran panickedly grabbed her wrist, his tone filled with pleading. "Don't go, don't leave me..."
Xu Nian'an stopped in her tracks but did not turn around.
"Ran!" The door to the hospital room was suddenly pushed open, and Bai Lian's voice came from the entrance, laced with urgency and concern.
She hurried to the bedside and saw Gu Yuran tightly gripping Xu Nian'an's hand. A flash of malice crossed her eyes, but she quickly masked her emotions with a worried expression.
"Ran, you finally woke up. Do you know how worried I was about you?" Bai Lian said, her eyes slightly reddening.
Gu Yuran, however, seemed not to see her at all, his gaze fixed intently on Xu Nian'an, afraid that if he blinked, she would disappear.
"Nian'an..." he spoke again, his voice filled with yearning and desperation.
