Liu Guanfeng released his grip, and Ma Sanbao sat on the ground. "Since you have admitted your defeat, let's discuss the rules of our challenge during this trip."
After hearing Liu Guanfeng's words, Ma Sanbao remained motionless, still sitting on the ground with tears streaming down his face. Liu Guanfeng understood that he truly could not bring himself to apologize; after all, he was the child of a general and had never experienced such humiliation before.
However, Liu Guanfeng felt no sympathy for someone like him. If there had been any sympathy left, it vanished completely when he saw Ma Sanbao cursing Leihong. Liu Guanfeng coldly stared at Ma Sanbao.
"What's wrong? Do you want to back out?"
Hearing Liu Guanfeng's words, Ma Sanbao had no choice but to kneel before him, crying uncontrollably as he said, "Young Master Liu, I'm sorry. I was wrong, and I won't dare to do it again. Please forgive me."
Liu Guanfeng looked at Ma Sanbao with cold eyes. "Remember to keep your distance from me next time you see me, and stay away from my friends as well. If I catch you bullying my classmates again, don't say I didn't warn you. Also, treat your subordinates better; they are human beings, not animals for you to hit and scold."
At this point, Liu Guanfeng glanced in Leihong's direction. Since he hadn't lowered his voice while speaking, Leihong, who was resting nearby, heard everything clearly. When he realized that Liu Guanfeng was reprimanding Ma Sanbao for his sake, he noticed that Leihong's eyes were slightly moist.
Liu Guanfeng continued, "Let me correct your earlier mistake: the people who fought alongside me were not my subordinates; they are my friends and brothers. From now on, anyone who dares to bully my friends is challenging me, and I will not go easy on such people."
Although Liu Guanfeng was addressing Ma Sanbao, his voice was loud enough for everyone present to hear. His only goal was intimidation. With everything he had displayed today combined with his identity as the son of the City Defense General, Liu Guanfeng wanted to ensure that there were very few who would dare provoke him in this school.
After finishing his words, Liu Guanfeng turned and walked down from the arena. He helped lift Copper Bull, who was half lying on the ground, and together with Iron Bull, they supported Copper Bull back to the dormitory. They laid a quilt on the floor and helped Copper Bull lie down on it.
Liu Guanfeng knew that Copper Bull had only sustained minor injuries that were almost negligible. However, Leihong had also suffered some superficial wounds that were far more serious than those of Copper Bull. This highlighted the benefits of Iron Skin Soup.
After settling Copper Bull comfortably, Liu Guanfeng personally helped him relax. He aimed to reduce any soreness Copper Bull might feel in his limbs the next day. Liu Guanfeng utilized relaxation techniques he had learned in college and continuously performed relaxation exercises for Copper Bull from head to toe. Although the actions were simple—such as pressing, kneading, and tapping—they were not easy to perform.
Each movement had to be repeated hundreds or even thousands of times. When it was time for class, Liu Guanfeng found himself too distracted to pay attention and asked Platinum Wen to request a leave for him while sending Bao Rui and Iron Bull to class. He stayed in the dormitory watching over Copper Bull.
After more than an hour of helping Copper Bull relax, Liu Guanfeng finally stopped and used a towel to wipe off the blood and dust from Copper Bull's face and body.
When Copper Bull saw Liu Guanfeng doing these things, he repeatedly said, "Third Brother, there's no need for that. You must be tired too, so just take a break. I'm really fine now."
Liu Guanfeng looked at Copper Bull and said, "Since you call me Third Brother, then everything will be according to my wishes. Your current task is to rest well."
He continued to wipe Copper Bull's body, and tears streamed down Copper Bull's cheeks.
"Why are you crying like a girl? You're a grown man."
Copper Bull sobbed, "Third Brother, my life from now on belongs to you."
"Fool, your life is yours. I've said before that we are not master and servant; you are my brother. Now that my brother can't move, it's only right for Third Brother to take care of you."
Copper Bull closed his eyes and stopped talking, but the tears kept flowing.
After finishing wiping Copper Bull, Liu Guanfeng helped him to his bed. He covered him with blankets so he could sleep well. Once done, Liu Guanfeng was exhausted as well and found an empty bed to sleep in. He slept until Platinum Wen and the others returned from school. Liu Guanfeng instructed Bao Rui to send a message home saying they would stay at school tonight.
He also asked Iron Bull to go to the cafeteria and bring back some food. When the food returned, Copper Bull had woken up and felt much better, although lifting his arms was still quite difficult. Liu Guanfeng personally fed him, but Copper Bull refused no matter what. In the end, it was Iron Bull who fed him.
After a while, Bao Rui finally returned from outside. Liu Guanfeng told Bao Rui and Iron Bull to go back to their dormitory for the night, saying it was enough for him and Platinum Wen to watch over Copper Bull. However, Bao Rui and Iron Bull insisted on staying. Since there were only four beds in the dormitory, they had no choice but to send Bao Rui back to his own dormitory while Iron Bull stayed with his brother.
The next day, Copper Bull had already recovered; he just felt some soreness in his arms and thighs. After a few more days, Copper Bull was completely healed, and everyone returned to their normal study life. Although studying was quite dull, it was still enjoyable being with classmates. During this time, Liu Guanfeng also heard that Ma Sanbao had taken a long leave after being beaten by him and left the school with his followers.
On the third day after the challenge ended, two horse-drawn carriages drove into Starfall Kingdom's capital, Starfall City. They stopped in front of the fourth house on Auxiliary Country Street. The sign read Ma Mansion; this residence belonged to General Ma Weiwu of Starfall Kingdom.
A young man got out of the first carriage; it was Ma Sanbao, the third son of General Ma Weiwu. Seven people got out of the following carriage; they were all followers who usually accompanied Ma Sanbao.
Ma Sanbao stepped down from the carriage with an angry expression. The gatekeeper saw that Third Young Master had returned and greeted him with a smile. A slightly taller guard smiled and said:
"Third Young Master, why have you come back?" They initially wanted to please Ma Sanbao, but upon seeing the scars on his face, they immediately suppressed their smiles.
"Third Young Master, what happened to you?" Then he turned to another guard and said, "Quickly go report to Madam that Third Young Master has returned." The other guard also noticed the injury on Ma Sanbao's face and hurriedly ran inside.
Before long, a woman's voice could be heard: "Where is my Sanbao? How did Sanbao get hurt?"
As soon as she finished speaking, a woman in her thirties rushed out of the courtyard. The woman saw Ma Sanbao and his group coming in from outside, so she quickly ran over and hugged Ma Sanbao tightly.
Then she carefully examined the injury on Ma Sanbao's face. "Sanbao, who did this to you? Tell your mother, and I will avenge you." Ma Sanbao looked at his mother who was holding him: "Mother, is Father at home?"
"Your father went to the military camp today. I have already sent someone to find him. He will be back soon. First, tell your mother what exactly happened," Ma Sanbao's mother asked with concern.
So Ma Sanbao and his mother returned to his room, where he exaggeratedly recounted the events. After he finished, Madam Ma was so angry that she stomped her feet and cursed. After about an hour, a deep voice came from outside.
"Where is Sanbao? What exactly happened?" With that, Ma Sanbao's door was pushed open, and a middle-aged man in his forties entered. This man was Ma Weiwu, one of the three great generals of Starfall Kingdom.
Seeing his father enter, Ma Sanbao immediately stood up to greet him. Madam Ma pulled Ma Sanbao back onto the bed. "You’re already injured; why are you still greeting him? Look at your son being beaten and you don’t care."
Ma Weiwu approached Ma Sanbao's bed. "Who said I don't care? I'm here to ask what happened."
Ma Sanbao repeated what he had told his mother. When he heard that he was called a useless person who couldn't practice martial arts, Ma Weiwu raised his hand and slapped Ma Sanbao: "Useless! You really are a useless person; you can't even defeat someone who is incapable of practicing martial arts, yet you still have the face to talk to me."
Seeing her son being hit by Ma Weiwu, Madam Ma immediately became furious. She pulled Ma Weiwu away and stood with her hands on her hips between Ma Sanbao and Ma Weiwu.
"It's all Liu Guanfeng's fault! Why are you hitting Sanbao? Is this how a father behaves? Your own child is being beaten and you turn around to hit him instead. Go ahead and hit me too; I don’t want to live anymore!" With that, she bumped her head against Ma Weiwu.
Just moments ago angry, Ma Weiwu softened immediately. Madam Ma’s surname was Qian; she was Ma Weiwu's second wife and was currently twenty-six years old. She married Ma Weiwu at eighteen and gave birth to Ma Sanbao at twenty. Ma Dabao and Er Bao were born from Ma Weiwu's first wife. A few years ago, the first wife passed away, allowing Madam Qian to become the main wife.
Because Madam Qian was young and beautiful and knew how to win people over, even though Ma Weiwu had taken two more wives afterward, he still cherished Madam Qian very much. "Madam, I will handle this matter. As for Sanbao's grievances, I will naturally avenge him later. Who exactly is Liu Guanfeng? Have you found out?"
Ma Sanbao looked at his father: "I found out; his father's name is Liu Yong'an, the City Defense General of Rain City. According to military ranks, he should be under your command."
"Madam Qian" sulked, saying, "I don't care who he is; I want you to take revenge on him right now. Go send someone to capture that person named 'Liu Guanfeng.'"
Upon hearing "Madam Qian" say this, "Ma Weiwu" frowned. "You should be quiet. What do you know as a woman? If that 'Liu Guanfeng' were just the child of an ordinary family, I wouldn't hesitate. It wouldn't matter if we killed him, but that 'Liu Yong'an' is not someone to be trifled with."
"Madam Qian" retorted, "What’s so intimidating about him? Aren't you one of our country's 'Three Generals'? What are you afraid of? Are you not a man? You let someone bully your own child and do nothing about it."
"Ma Weiwu" shook his head. "You only know I'm one of the 'Three Generals,' but you should also know that there are only two generals in our country right now. Do you know who the third one is?"
"Madam Qian," not being foolish, looked up at "Ma Weiwu." "Are you saying that the third general is…"
"Ma Weiwu" nodded. "That third general is 'Liu Yong'an,' and he is also the savior of the current emperor. He has been by the emperor's side since he was still a prince, and because of his overly upright character, he was demoted to 'Rain City City Defense General.' However, the emperor did not strip him of his general title. In other words, he is still one of our country's 'Three Generals.'"
"Madam Qian" was taken aback. "So we won't take revenge on this?"
"Not take revenge? Why wouldn't we? My son has been bullied; of course, we will take revenge, but not right now."
"My lord, when will we be able to take revenge then?"
"Ma Weiwu" chuckled. "That's not something for you to worry about. When the time comes for revenge, you'll naturally know. I will make sure it satisfies you."
Hearing this, "Madam Qian" nestled into "Ma Weiwu's" embrace. "You are always so considerate, my lord. Then I will follow your arrangements."
