The young man on the ground still wanted to get up, using his right hand to support himself as he swayed. Liu Guanfeng walked over and kicked him in the jaw. The young man rolled his eyes and fainted. Liu Guanfeng looked around and saw that others were still fighting with Mount, so he returned to the two girls.
At this moment, Li Xiaohan approached Liu Guanfeng. "Liu Guanfeng, were you injured just now?" she asked, examining him closely. Liu Guanfeng, however, did not look at her but instead focused on several people in the arena.
In the arena, Copper Bull and Iron Bull were engaged in a fierce battle, neither showing any signs of retreat. Bao Rui was skillfully executing Tai Chi moves against a young man with thick eyebrows and big eyes, who was currently frowning.
The young man was becoming increasingly frustrated. Why? Because he felt that his punches should have landed on Bao Rui, yet they never did. His opponent seemed able to evade his strikes with minimal movement, completely dissipating his force. In contrast, every time he was hit by Bao Rui, it felt like an overwhelming force.
Just then, the young man threw another punch at Bao Rui. Bao Rui sidestepped and grabbed the young man's right arm with his right hand, pulling down sharply and delivering a palm strike to the back of his hand. The Big-Eyed Youth winced in pain and withdrew his hand. He then aimed a kick at Bao Rui, who ducked to avoid it and charged forward, placing the Big-Eyed Youth's right leg on his left shoulder. Bao Rui seized the opportunity to run forward with all his might.
The Big-Eyed Youth could only hop backward on one leg. After running seven or eight steps, Bao Rui noticed that his opponent was still hopping along behind him. Seizing the moment when the young man was off balance, Bao Rui pushed upward with both hands, lifting the Big-Eyed Youth's right leg higher and destabilizing him. Bao Rui then moved in front of him, turned around, and swept at the young man's heel with his foot. Since the young man was standing on one leg, he was easily knocked off balance and fell backward.
Following this, Bao Rui stomped on the Big-Eyed Youth's stomach, causing him to flip over. With his right foot pressing down on the young man's abdomen and his left foot aimed at the young man's head, Bao Rui knocked him unconscious.
Meanwhile, Copper Bull and Iron Bull had also concluded their battle, with both of their opponents rendered unconscious as well. However, unlike Liu Guanfeng and Bao Rui's neat appearances, Copper Bull's clothes were riddled with holes and burn marks. Fortunately for him, being a Fire Attribute user meant that fire wasn't much of an issue; he wasn't injured.
Iron Bull's clothing resembled tattered curtains, covered in numerous slashes that fluttered as he walked. His opponent was of Golden Class; however, due to Iron Bull having consumed Iron Skin Soup, he had no external injuries—only a few white scratches.
The two sides had long since determined their outcomes; four third-tier magical beasts lay incapacitated on the ground after being severely beaten by Fire, Bumpkin, and Stone.
Seeing that things were going poorly for them, Zhao Yuanbao and Ji Shou attempted to sneak away. Liu Guanfeng had XP circle around behind them while three magical beasts that had finished their battles were arranged around Zhao Yuanbao and Ji Shou from four directions, trapping them in the middle.
The two boys saw that all four of their guards had been defeated and that Mount was now in a half-dead state. Terrified, they quickly sat back-to-back on the ground.
Liu Guanfeng approached them with Bao Rui and the others; Bao Rui held Wang Jiao with his left hand while Li Xiaohan tugged at Liu Guanfeng's clothing.
When Zhao Yuanbao and Ji Shou saw Liu Guanfeng approaching them, they trembled in fear. Zhao Yuanbao had lost all bravado from earlier and immediately knelt on the ground. "Liu Guanfeng, please spare us! We didn't know they were your girlfriends! If we had known, even if we had several times more courage we wouldn't have dared! Please let us go." After speaking, they repeatedly bowed their heads.
When they mentioned "girlfriends," surprisingly no one objected. Bao Rui and Wang Jiao certainly didn't mind; even Li Xiaohan blushed and hid behind Liu Guanfeng without protest. Liu Guanfeng remained expressionless as he watched them.
Seeing two people bowing, Wang Jiao next to Bao Rui couldn't help but laugh out loud. Bao Rui, standing beside her, immediately gestured for her to quiet down.
Looking at the two who were bowing, Liu Guanfeng stepped forward again and said, "Where did your arrogance go just now?"
Ji Shou quickly replied, "I was blind and didn't recognize the great ones. I won't dare again."
"You two remember this: keep your distance from my friends next time. If I catch you plotting against them again, I will personally take care of you," he said before walking away without looking back. Li Xiaohan continued to tug at Liu Guanfeng's clothes, running to keep up with him.
Bao Rui glanced at the two on the ground before following. Copper Bull and Iron Bull trailed behind Bao Rui. After walking a few steps, Bao Rui quietly instructed the Copper Bull brothers before continuing on. The Copper Bull brothers then returned to their previous position.
Seeing Zhao Yuanbao still sitting on the ground, they were startled when they noticed the Copper Bull brothers returning. They hurriedly said, "Why are you two back? Liu Guanfeng already let us go."
Copper Bull echoed Bao Rui's words: "You two scared our sister-in-law quite a bit earlier. How do you plan to settle this?"
Ji Shou quickly responded, "What do you want us to do? Our men have already been beaten like this, and we have apologized."
Iron Bull grabbed Ji Shou by the collar and punched him in the stomach, causing Ji Shou's face to contort: "Apology? What is your apology worth? My Third Brother needs to comfort our sister-in-law when we get back; how am I supposed to do that?" He followed up with another punch.
At this point, Zhao Yuanbao understood what the Copper Bull brothers wanted—money. He pulled out ten gold coins from his pocket and said, "Consider this compensation for your sister-in-law."
Seeing Zhao Yuanbao's action, Ji Shou quickly took out eight gold coins from his own pocket.
After receiving the coins from both of them, Copper Bull and Iron Bull kicked them simultaneously. Looking at Zhao Yuanbao and Ji Shou lying on the ground, Copper Bull pointed at them and warned, "If you dare disrespect our sister-in-law again, we will deal with you directly." With that, they left without looking back.
When they returned to the inn, Copper Bull and Iron Bull handed the money over to Liu Guanfeng. After learning about the situation upon seeing the coins, Liu Guanfeng couldn't help but feel amused yet helpless. In the end, he divided the eighteen gold coins into two portions—nine coins for each girl—and had Bao Rui deliver them.
Not long after Liu Guanfeng and the others returned, Director Jin came to check on them. Seeing everyone present, he didn't say anything. Liu Guanfeng and his group also chose not to inform Director Jin about what had happened.
Meanwhile, both children returned home. When their parents saw their kids had been beaten up, they were furious and prepared to seek revenge against Liu Guanfeng. However, after learning about what had happened and who was involved, both fathers not only refrained from avenging their children but ended up giving each of them a good beating instead.
Others may not be clear, but the two head stewards of Season Manor and Zhao Manor cannot be unaware of who Liu Guanfeng's father, Liu Yong'an, truly is. Liu Yong'an holds a higher position in the Emperor's heart than their own masters, and his status in the military is unmatched by ordinary individuals. In fact, nearly half of the mid-level and junior officers were promoted by Liu Yong'an. Although Liu Yong'an has been demoted, his title as the General of Starfall City remains unchanged.
It is fortunate that their son did not suffer severe consequences after provoking Liu Yong'an's son. Therefore, both stewards advised their children to avoid Liu Guanfeng in the future.
Zhao Yuanbao and Ji Shou were understandably upset. They had initially hoped their fathers and Uncle would stand up for them, but instead, they ended up getting beaten again. Both of them held a grudge against Liu Guanfeng.
The next morning, after everyone had breakfast at Lucky Restaurant, the convoy gathered to head towards Meteor Academy. After exiting Starfall City's North Gate and walking about three miles north, they came upon a segmented mountain. On the mountain, they could see many wall-like structures dividing it into five sections. Dean Su explained that these were created by Meteor Academy for students to practice real combat, with the mountain divided into five equal areas, each corresponding to a different division.
At the foot of the mountain stood an academy that was nearly as large as Rain City itself. Upon arriving at the entrance of the academy, they noticed a sculpture on the left side of the main gate depicting a figure in a wizard's robe. The figure held a staff in its left hand, embedded with a large Core, while its right hand cradled something resembling flames. Below this sculpture was another sculpture of a giant dragon standing with its wings spread wide and breathing fire.
On the right side of the main gate stood another humanoid sculpture, this one depicting a warrior bending forward with both hands gripping a heavy sword, its cape billowing in the wind behind it. Below this statue was also a standing dragon with wings spread open, but instead of breathing fire, it was spewing a column of water.
Moreover, these two humanoid sculptures bore strikingly similar features. Dean Su introduced them: "These two statues at the entrance represent the first Divine Knight of Starfall Kingdom—a warrior named Cui Yongliu and a wizard named Cui Yongxing—who are twin brothers. Both brothers ride dragons represented by the dragons below them. They are also ancestors of Cui Jinchong, the current chancellor of Starfall Kingdom."
After becoming Divine Knights, the brothers established Meteor Academy and became guardians of Starfall Kingdom. Eventually, for reasons unknown, they left Starfall Kingdom and never returned. However, Meteor Academy remained, and the Cui family became the foremost noble family in Starfall Kingdom. "Look up," Dean Su instructed.
Everyone followed Dean Su's gesture and saw four gilded characters above the main gate spelling out "Meteor Academy."
"These four characters were written by the twin brothers. The first two characters 'Meteor' were penned by elder brother Cui Yongliu, while 'Academy' was written by younger brother Cui Yongxing."
Upon closer inspection, the characters for "Meteor" appeared delicate and flowing, evoking a sense of continuity. In contrast, "Academy" was written vigorously and forcefully, creating a striking visual impact.
