Even so, this time the Rainfront Academy set a record in history. The next day, when everyone arrived at the Arena, their attention was primarily focused on Liu Guanfeng's Arena, where the top two of the third group would be determined. In another group, Iron Bull's opponent was the Starlight Academy competitor who had lost all three previous matches, so it was expected that Iron Bull would emerge as the group leader.
Thus, there was relatively less excitement regarding that match. The familiar referee returned to the Arena: "Please both sides prepare; the match begins." After starting, Liu Guanfeng assumed the Tai Chi starting posture. Seeing Liu Guanfeng had no intention to attack, Wang Honglei immediately took the offensive. He stepped forward with both palms pushing ahead, but Liu Guanfeng used his right hand to hook Wang Honglei's right palm outward, disrupting Wang Honglei's balance.

Wang Honglei stood up just as Liu Guanfeng charged forward with both fists extended. Wang Honglei defended with both hands. Liu Guanfeng stepped forward and struck Wang Honglei in the abdomen with his right fist. Feeling pain in his abdomen, Wang Honglei covered it and retreated while Liu Guanfeng followed up with a side kick that hit Wang Honglei in the chest, knocking him down again. Liu Guanfeng took two steps back and stood firm without rushing to attack.
After performing a backward roll, Wang Honglei stood up. Seeing that Liu Guanfeng did not attack, he relaxed and rubbed his abdomen while Liu Guanfeng merely smiled at him. Meanwhile, as Wang Honglei rubbed his stomach, he reflected on the previous exchanges. He then glanced down at the Arena and saw their academy's head shaking his head at him.
Wang Honglei redirected his gaze to Liu Guanfeng, who stood with his hands at his sides. Wang Honglei sprinted a few steps toward Liu Guanfeng and jumped into the air with both fists aimed at Liu Guanfeng's head. Liu Guanfeng stood firm in a T stance with fists clenched and met Wang Honglei's fists head-on. When their fists collided, Wang Honglei felt his last line of defense crumble.
He realized that Liu Guanfeng's strength was somewhat greater than his own; it was clear that Liu Guanfeng had been holding back during their earlier exchanges. With a powerful push of his hands, Liu Guanfeng deflected Wang Honglei's fists and quickly struck him in the chest again, forcing him to stagger back five or six steps. Once stabilized, Wang Honglei noticed that Liu Guanfeng still did not attack but remained standing in place.
Wang Honglei cupped his fist toward Liu Guanfeng: "I can't beat you; I concede." When he looked down at the Arena earlier and saw their head shaking his head, he already knew he was no match for Liu Guanfeng. His intention to attack again was merely to test Liu Guanfeng's strength further. After this test, he understood that Liu Guanfeng's power surpassed his own.
Thus, he acknowledged defeat voluntarily. The referee nodded at Wang Honglei: "I declare the winner of this match is Rainfront Academy's Liu Guanfeng." Applause erupted from below the Arena to congratulate Liu Guanfeng.
With Liu Guanfeng's match concluded, the entire Academy Competition came to an end. The second phase of competition would take place the following day. Surprisingly, four students from Millennium Old Five appeared as group leaders in today's Campus Competition.
Tomorrow in the second group, Bao Rui will face off against Starlight Academy’s Seed Player Wang Honglei from the third group; in the third group, Liu Guanfeng will compete against Stream Academy’s Seed Player; in the fourth group, Iron Bull will go against Meteor Academy’s second-place player Wang Dongnan; while Copper Bull from the fifth group will face Starlight Academy’s second-place player Yuwen Guang from the first group.
In the Advanced Mount Competition, Liu Guanfeng's experience points allowed him to advance to the second round against a Fourth-Stage Beast, the Two-Headed Lizard. Aside from him, five other students from Meteor Academy also made it to the finals of the Advanced Mount Competition. Ma Sanbao from Rainfront Academy, representing his school, also progressed to the second stage with his Leopard, facing off against a Peak of Fifth Stage Earth Black Bear.
This clearly demonstrates that Noble Academy's economic strength is not comparable to that of other ordinary academies.
Before the competition, all the academies looked down on Rainfront Academy. No one had high hopes for this Millennium Old Five. However, after the knight battles concluded, everyone held great respect for the students and teachers of Rainfront Academy, including those who harbored resentment.
Especially Starlight Academy, which had hoped for Xie Siqi to achieve good results in the knight battles. However, after being injured by Bao Rui, she was eliminated early. Xie Siqi's Gorilla was also directly defeated by Liu Guanfeng, leading to a disastrous performance in the Advanced Mount Competition. With Liu Guanfeng and his companions advancing to the second stage, the odds for their victories were significantly adjusted outside. This slowed down Liu Guanfeng's goal of making money; however, through these days of competition, he still managed to earn a bit, increasing his initial 15 gold coins to over 30 now.
When the morning light streamed into the room the next day, all participating team members began preparing for the second stage. Wang Jiao rushed to the dormitory early to cheer for Bao Rui, accompanied by Li Xiaohan, who silently stood by watching Liu Guanfeng without saying a word.
As someone who had once been an adult, Liu Guanfeng understood Li Xiaohan's feelings very well. The five matches began simultaneously. Liu Guanfeng, Bao Rui, Liu Tongniu, and Liu Tieniu gave their opponents no chance at all. It seemed as if they had coordinated their attacks; they launched a frenzied offensive that left their four opponents struggling. In each Arena, one person focused on offense while another defended; however, even those on defense were pushed back relentlessly. The first match concluded with Copper Bull's defeat, followed by Iron Bull's loss.
Bao Rui had little advantage in strength, and although he was on the offensive, his opponent's defense remained quite solid. Liu Guanfeng deliberately controlled his strength to around seventy percent, allowing his opponent to defend without getting injured.
A prolonged defense often leads to a mistake; the player defending against Bao Rui was caught off guard and got hit in the nose. In that moment of distraction, Bao Rui seized the opportunity and launched a new round of frenzied attacks, ultimately knocking his opponent out of the Arena.
Meanwhile, Liu Guanfeng maintained a casual offensive. Whenever his opponent attempted to attack, Liu Guanfeng would tighten his defense just enough to throw them into disarray. After several exchanges, his opponent had no choice but to concede defeat.
Thus, the second phase of the knight competition came to an end, producing five players who advanced to the third round. Besides Liu Guanfeng, Bao Rui, Liu Tongniu, and Liu Tieniu, the other player was Cui Wenwu from Meteor Academy, the grandson of Cui Jinchong, the Prime Minister of Starfall Kingdom.
Next, as a Seed Player of the tournament, Ji Hu joined, making a total of Six People. The six players would draw lots for their matchups in the elimination rounds, determining two groups: the winning group would compete for first to third place, while the losing group would vie for fourth to sixth place.
The draw resulted in Bao Rui facing Copper Bull, Liu Guanfeng against Iron Bull, and Ji Hu matched up with Cui Wenwu. Liu Guanfeng thought to himself: What a pity; we can't sweep the top three now. On the way back, Iron Bull wore a frown.
Next, Liu Guanfeng entered the Arena for the Advanced Mount Competition. Facing a fourth-rank beast, he felt no pressure at all. With just a few simple attacks, before his opponent could react, his Two-Headed Lizard had already fallen beneath the Arena, allowing him to smoothly advance to the next stage of competition.
In the final round of the advanced mount competition, five out of six mounts were from Meteor Academy. If it weren't for xp's participation this time, it was likely that all top six spots would have been claimed by Meteor Academy. This is also why they could maintain their dominant position in inter-academy competitions. In the preliminary rounds, all mounts from Rainfront Academy were eliminated; Iron Bull's Rock Ape lost in the second round to a peak third-tier wood-type green bull.
In the third stage of competition, xp would face a peak fifth-tier mount: the Golden-Eyed Eagle. This flying mount was metallic in nature. Like other metallic mounts, the Golden-Eyed Eagle possessed immense impact power and could metalize any part of its body. It also had high-altitude attack capabilities and was a tough opponent. However, for xp, it wasn't much of an issue.
During lunch break, Liu Guanfeng called over Bao Rui and the others: "What are your thoughts on this afternoon's matches?"
