After a few rounds, Ji Hu stood in place, panting, while Liu Guanfeng watched from the side. Ji Hu looked up at Liu Guanfeng and said, "Your speed is really impressive, and your strength is not small either. I think I really need to put in some effort to win against you."
Liu Guanfeng smiled at Ji Hu, genuinely admiring him. Ji Hu's combat skills were very proficient, and he had already become a Junior Knight at the age of ten, which showed that he practiced diligently during his usual training. His performance in the Arena also indicated that he did not possess the arrogance typical of a young master from a prominent family.
Seeing that Ji Hu had almost caught his breath, Liu Guanfeng gestured with his hand, "Let's go again."
Ji Hu stood up, "Okay."
The two boys clashed once more. This time was different from before; neither of them dodged but instead exchanged punches directly. After another ten or so rounds, they separated again, but this time Ji Hu clearly could no longer stand.
Liu Guanfeng had always been confident in his endurance; during his usual training, he focused heavily on stamina exercises. Moreover, during the previous exchanges, Ji Hu had been on the defensive and wasted a lot of energy without landing many hits on Liu Guanfeng.
Ji Hu struggled to stand and looked at Liu Guanfeng across from him, "You are really strong." After saying this, Ji Hu collapsed onto the ground and could not get back up. At this moment, the referee saw that a winner had been determined and walked to the center of the Arena to announce that Liu Guanfeng had won the match.
Thus, Liu Guanfeng secured the championship for the Knight category in this competition, while the remaining match would be between Copper Bull and Ji Hu for second and third place.
As they walked down from the Arena, Bao Rui and Iron Bull quickly came to Liu Guanfeng's side to support him. By this time, Liu Guanfeng was also exhausted but was still able to walk off the Arena by himself.
With everyone's assistance, Liu Guanfeng and XP arrived at the venue for the Advanced Mount Competition. At this time, Cui Wenwu's Flame Tiger was already waiting in the Arena. Liu Guanfeng was helped onto the Arena. After sitting down, XP slowly walked toward the center of the Arena.
Cui Wenwu looked at Liu Guanfeng sitting on the ground and said, "You fought brilliantly just now. I admit that if I faced you, I would also lose. You are really strong."
Liu Guanfeng forced a smile and replied, "Thank you for your compliment."
Liu Guanfeng instructed XP to win without seriously injuring the opponent. XP nodded in agreement.
When the referee saw both sides were ready, he came to the center to announce the start of the match.
As soon as the referee announced the start, two beams of light suddenly rose from both mounts in the Arena. The Flame Tiger was surrounded by red flames while XP radiated blue ripples of water. Seeing this, Cui Wenwu turned to Liu Guanfeng and said, "Your little dog is indeed extraordinary. How many attributes does it have?"
Liu Guanfeng smiled back at Cui Wenwu and replied, "Five." Cui Wenwu was taken aback; a beast with five elemental attributes could possess such power. No wonder it could participate in the Advanced Mount Competition and make it to the finals; it seemed that this little dog should not be underestimated.
The confrontation between water and fire mounts immediately created a thick white mist in the center of the arena as they battled. The longer they fought, the denser the mist became until only white fog remained in the center of the Arena; it was impossible to see either beast amidst it as roars echoed through.
Gradually, the roars ceased and the white mist began to dissipate. In the Arena, one beast lay on the ground while another stood tall. The standing beast was naturally XP; Flame Tiger lay on the ground unable to rise. Its condition was similar to Ji Hu's—completely drained of energy. During the match against XP's Water Type attacks, Flame Tiger had been in a passive state; managing to hold out for so long was already quite remarkable.
Looking at the Flame Tiger lying on the ground, panting heavily, Cui Wenwu felt a deep sense of pain. He rushed over and felt relieved when the Flame Tiger assured him that it was not injured, just a bit exhausted. After resting, it would be fine. Moreover, the Flame Tiger informed Cui Wenwu that the little dog across from them was much stronger and had been holding back during their earlier match.
So, after glancing at the Flame Tiger, Cui Wenwu stood up and clasped his fists towards Liu Guanfeng: "Thank you for your Mount holding back earlier."
Liu Guanfeng knew that the other party's Mount was a Sixth Tier capable of communication with its master, so he didn't hide anything and simply replied, "It's nothing; this isn't a life-or-death battle." He then got up and climbed onto xp's back as xp carried him down from the Arena.
After returning to the dormitory, Copper Bull came over to give Liu Guanfeng a massage, but Liu Guanfeng refused. However, he couldn't escape being "tortured" by his three attendants, especially by Iron Bull and Bao Rui. Liu Guanfeng didn't let Copper Bull help because he had another match the next day. Under Liu Guanfeng's guidance, Bao Rui and Iron Bull became increasingly skilled in their massage techniques. Dinner was also brought back by Iron Bull.
The next morning, Liu Guanfeng had recovered his spirits. Although he still felt somewhat fatigued, it no longer affected his mood. Today, there was only one match for xp against its final opponent, Ji Hu's Golden Light Tiger.
Arriving at the knight's match Arena, the first battle was between Ji Hu and Copper Bull. As soon as they stepped onto the stage, Liu Guanfeng noticed that Ji Hu looked very fatigued and barely had any strength left; it was already quite difficult for him to stand in the Arena.
As expected by Liu Guanfeng, when both stood on the Arena, Ji Hu reluctantly chose to concede because he knew he had no chance of defeating Copper Bull. If he participated in the group matches in his current state, he would likely be eliminated.
After leaving the Arena, Ji Hu looked at Liu Guanfeng: "Are you feeling better?"
Before he could respond, Liu Guanfeng asked first, "How's your body?"
Ji Hu shook his head: "I didn't expect that fighting you would have such a significant aftereffect. I'm still struggling to stand. How about you?"
Liu Guanfeng smiled wryly: "I'm just slightly better than you. We should get going; our mounts are up next."
"Let's go." After saying this, Ji Hu mounted his Golden Light Tiger, while Liu Guanfeng got on xp. The two final opponents rode their mounts into the Arena. This was something unprecedented; however, no one below the arena looked down on their actions. The impression left by yesterday's match was too profound.
Once on the Arena, both exchanged wry smiles before sitting down simultaneously. Their mounts stood in the center of the arena. As with yesterday's situation, once the match began, both mounts glowed again—today's light was gold and red. The golden light emanated from the Golden Light Tiger, while red light radiated from xp.
Seeing the red light on xp made Ji Hu shake his head. Fire counters gold when their levels are close enough; elemental interactions can determine the outcome of a match. As the flames rose, a heavy weight pressed down on Ji Hu's heart.
However, the competition had to proceed. The two magical beasts charged at each other swiftly, and soon red and gold lights intertwined on stage. But as they fought on, the golden light dimmed until only red light filled the arena. After another clash of gold and red lights, they separated.
The Golden Light Tiger, swaying on stage, fell as soon as its golden light extinguished. Before collapsing, it conveyed almost exactly what yesterday's Flame Tiger had told to Ji Hu, which made him feel sorrowful but grateful for Liu Guanfeng's mercy.
With the fall of the Golden Light Tiger, all knight and mount battles concluded. Both Liu Guanfeng and xp emerged as champions of their respective competitions, while the champion of the junior mount battle competition was claimed by a two-tailed Fire Fox from Starlight Academy.
Although the competition had ended, awards would be distributed later in a unified manner. Thus, everyone from Rainfront Academy surrounded Liu Guanfeng, who lay on xp's back as they returned to their dormitory. At noon, meals for four were served in their dormitory; their food was much better than that of outside students since it was specially ordered by Dean Su for them. It was then delivered by Wang Jiao, accompanied by Li Xiaohan, along with Bao Rui and Iron Bull.
In Knight Academy 6, matters regarding relationships between men and women were quite open. After observing for several days, Dean Su had learned about the relationship between Bao Rui and Wang Jiao. Additionally, since Li Xiaohan also showed interest in Liu Guanfeng, Dean Su arranged for both girls to help deliver lunch today. The atmosphere in their dormitory during lunch was lively.
wang Jiao jokingly accused Dean Su of favoritism for always preparing so much delicious food for Liu Guanfeng. Then she shamelessly indulged herself with a chicken leg in one hand and a duck neck in another while everyone laughed heartily; even Bao Rui could only smile wryly at his little girlfriend.
After the Knight and Mount finished their confrontation, they needed to rest for two days before participating in the final event of the Academy Competition, the Hunting Competition. The list for the Hunting Competition at Rainfront Academy has been finalized, and the competition will take place over three days.
The location is set on Trial Mountain, located behind Meteor Academy, which has been divided into five equal sections. For this Hunting Competition, Starfall Kingdom has purchased a large number of magical beasts to release onto the mountain. Therefore, there are still plenty of magical beasts present on Trial Mountain.
After lunch, Liu Guanfeng called Bao Rui over:
"Bao Rui, do you have confidence in this Hunting Competition?"
Bao Rui shook his head: "I only hunted during the last test, so I have no experience at all."
Liu Guanfeng took out several prepared Small Funnels from his pocket: "You should set these up. Attach one side of the silk to a stable place, then place these Small Funnels in areas where turkey or Golden Rooster magical beasts appear. Check back occasionally; you might get some results."
Bao Rui looked at the items Liu Guanfeng had taken out: "Third Brother, will these things work?"
Liu Guanfeng also shook his head: "I don't know if they will work. I learned this method but have never practiced it myself. It's hard to say; it should work, right?"
Bao Rui trusted Liu Guanfeng's words and carefully set up the items.
That evening, several people found Ma Sanbao, who was also preparing for the Hunting Competition.
I initially planned to post two updates today, but then I realized it is Eggplant's wedding anniversary, so I decided to stick with three updates as usual. Here’s the first update.
