After several months of rest and recuperation, Liu Guanfeng's injuries have healed. His daily exercise routine gradually returned to what it was before the injury. Therefore, Liu Guanfeng approached his father, Liu Yong'an, expressing his desire to return to the academy for studies. However, his mother, Nangong Rong, was reluctant and wanted Liu Guanfeng to continue resting at home for a while longer. But seeing her son's strong determination, she reluctantly agreed.
The next morning, Liu Guanfeng and Bao Rui hurried to the academy. As they entered, they were met with expressions from all the students that resembled those of people admiring a spectacle. A few girls nearby were gossiping incessantly.
"Look, the one walking in front must be Liu Guanfeng from the Special Class," one slender girl remarked.
"Of course! The three behind him are his attendants. I heard they all performed exceptionally well in this competition, which is why our academy secured the championship," a plump girl chimed in.
"Liu Guanfeng looks quite ordinary, but look at that thinner boy behind him; he's so handsome! If only he could be my boyfriend," a lovestruck girl gazed dreamily at Bao Rui.
Liu Guanfeng and his companions felt a wave of embarrassment wash over them, especially Bao Rui, who wished he could find a hole to hide in; that lovestruck girl was indeed quite bold.
Soon, they arrived at Director Jin's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in," came Director Jin's voice from inside.
Liu Guanfeng pushed the door open and entered. "Director Jin, student Liu Guanfeng has fully recovered and is here to report back." After his injury, the principal had personally visited him and granted Liu Guanfeng and his three attendants an indefinite leave until he was completely healed.
Upon seeing Liu Guanfeng enter, Director Jin immediately broke into a smile and stepped forward to grasp Liu Guanfeng's shoulders, inspecting him closely from head to toe. "Are you fully healed?"
"Yes, Director. Thank you for your concern."
"Good to hear you're better. I know about your return; you can go back to class now," Director Jin released his grip on Liu Guanfeng.
"Then I will take my leave." After bowing respectfully to Director Jin, Liu Guanfeng and his companions exited the office. Just as Liu Guanfeng was about to close the door, Director Jin's voice called out again from inside.
"Liu Guanfeng, please go to the principal's office; he said he wants to see you first after your return."
"Understood." After responding to Director Jin, Liu Guanfeng instructed Bao Rui and the others to head to class while he made his way to the principal's office.
After knocking on the door, Liu Guanfeng arrived in front of the Dean. This was Liu Guanfeng's first time in the Dean's office. Upon entering, Liu Guanfeng saw an extremely simple office, which contained only a guest sofa, two bookshelves filled with books, and behind a desk sat the Dean of Rainfront Academy, an elderly man who appeared very kind.
When the Dean saw Liu Guanfeng enter, he put down his pen and stood up to approach Liu Guanfeng, examining him from head to toe just like Director Jin had done. He nodded repeatedly while observing.
Liu Guanfeng clasped his fists in greeting: "Dean, thank you for your concern. The student has recovered now."
The Dean nodded: "It's good that you've recovered, good that you've recovered."
"Dean, when I returned from my leave just now, Director Jin told me you wanted to see me. I wonder what instructions you have for me."
The Dean looked at Liu Guanfeng and then returned to his desk, pointing to the chair in front of Liu Guanfeng: "Please sit down first."
Liu Guanfeng followed the Dean's instructions and sat down.
"Liu Guanfeng, I heard from Dean Su that you shone brightly in this Campus Competition. Our academy's victory is all thanks to your efforts."
"Dean, that was just Dean Su praising me. Our academy's championship is the result of everyone's hard work."
The Dean nodded: "You're young yet able to remain humble and composed; that's commendable. I've also heard that you faced some obstacles during the Campus Competition?"
Liu Guanfeng understood that these details must have been relayed by Dean Su, so he did not hide anything. "Yes, Dean, but these small difficulties are manageable for me."
"Well, you don't need to worry about Ma Sanbao anymore; he has transferred to Meteor Academy this semester. I believe he won't be returning to Rainfront Academy again." The Dean seemed to be comforting Liu Guanfeng, concerned that he might be troubled by this matter.
Liu Guanfeng nodded inwardly: I didn't expect Ma Sanbao to act so quickly. I originally wanted to collect some interest from him, but now he's gone. That's fine; when I have the ability in the future, I'll reclaim both the principal and interest.
"Rest assured, Dean; I haven't been bothered by Ma Sanbao's matters."
"That's best. Since you've recovered, it's time for me to fulfill what I promised you before."
"Dean, what did you say would be fulfilled?" The Dean's words left Liu Guanfeng momentarily stunned.
"It's what I told you: after your return, I want to hold a celebration for you. Since you're back at school now, let's schedule it for this Saturday at 1 PM."
Liu Guanfeng scratched his head apologetically and said, "Isn't this a bit too much, Dean? Besides, bringing glory to the academy is something I should do as a student."
The Dean laughed, "Bringing glory is good, but the glory you're bringing is indeed quite significant. This is our academy's first championship in the Campus Competition, and we've left the Meteor Academy, known as the Noble Academy, behind. This event cannot be overlooked; it just wouldn't look right without you as the main character, so we had to wait for your return."
"Thank you for your kindness, Dean. I am willing to follow your arrangements," Liu Guanfeng replied.
The Dean laughed heartily, "Good, then go prepare for now. Remember not to be late on Saturday."
"Yes," Liu Guanfeng responded before exiting the Dean's office. Upon raising his head, he saw Vice Dean Su Qiang smiling at him by the door.
Liu Guanfeng hurried over to Vice Dean Su and bowed slightly, "Hello, Vice Dean Su."
Vice Dean Su looked at Liu Guanfeng and said, "You really are lucky. But your recovery is the best news of all. Go back to class now."
Although Vice Dean Su's words were few, they warmed Liu Guanfeng's heart. During the Campus Competition, Liu Guanfeng had received considerable care from Vice Dean Su.
"I take my leave," Liu Guanfeng said as he left the office building and headed straight back to his class. The first period was almost over, but Liu Guanfeng still knocked on the door before entering the classroom.
This class was taught by his instructor Chang Hong. When Chang Hong saw Liu Guanfeng enter, he was momentarily taken aback before leading the applause for Liu Guanfeng. Liu Guanfeng stood at the door feeling awkward.
At that moment, the instructor said, "Welcome back to our hero student from Rainfront Academy." He then gave Liu Guanfeng a sweet smile. Liu Guanfeng felt shy and scratched his head in front of the instructor.
As the applause subsided, the bell rang for class dismissal. At that moment, Liu Guanfeng was quickly surrounded by a dozen students from his class, all of them looking at him curiously. Platinum Wen grabbed Liu Guanfeng's hands and asked, "You're fully recovered?"
Liu Guanfeng nodded, and immediately after, Platinum Wen gave him a big hug. Although no words were exchanged, this embrace spoke volumes.
At that moment, Liu Guanfeng had his back to the classroom door when Platinum Wen glanced at the entrance and whispered in his ear, "Bro, there's a beautiful girl looking for you outside." After saying that, she smiled mysteriously.
Liu Guanfeng quickly turned around and saw a small head peeking in from the doorway. Who else could it be but Wang Jiao? As soon as Wang Jiao spotted Liu Guanfeng, she jumped to the entrance and waved vigorously at him. In reality, Liu Guanfeng was only about two meters away from Wang Jiao, making it seem as if they were separated by hundreds of meters.
After shaking his head with a smile, Liu Guanfeng pushed through the crowd to reach the door. Sure enough, standing behind Wang Jiao was Li Xiaohan. However, Li Xiaohan merely stood there watching Liu Guanfeng without saying a word. Meanwhile, Wang Jiao exaggeratedly circled around Liu Guanfeng excitedly and asked, "Liu Guanfeng, are you completely better now?"
Liu Guanfeng nodded, "Of course I'm fine. Didn't you see? I can come to class now."
Wang Jiao exclaimed in surprise, "Liu Guanfeng, your body is really strong. You survived such a serious injury. What kind of person are you?"
The more Liu Guanfeng listened, the more uncomfortable he felt. The intent behind the words was good, but after Wang Jiao's phrasing, it sounded particularly awkward. In the end, Liu Guanfeng was so annoyed that he almost wanted to give the little girl across from him a light smack on the head.
Liu Guanfeng's expression darkened, "Are you happy if I die?"
Wang Jiao could clearly see that Liu Guanfeng was pretending to be angry, so she pouted, "If you really died, I bet someone would cry their eyes out to accompany you." After saying that, Wang Jiao glanced at Li Xiaohan beside them. Liu Guanfeng followed her gaze and saw that Li Xiaohan had her head down, but her face was as red as if she had been drinking, and it was flushed all the way from her neck to her cheeks.
Wang Jiao stood by watching the two silent individuals, looking left and right, then said to Liu Guanfeng, "It was her who asked me to come find you. If you have something to say, hurry up; class is starting soon. I'll go stand guard over there." With that, she bounced away.
Guard? It's not like we're doing anything shameful. Liu Guanfeng thought to himself after hearing Wang Jiao's words.
Li Xiaohan stepped in front of Liu Guanfeng, still keeping her head down and blushing. "Is your injury okay now?"
Fortunately, Liu Guanfeng was close enough to Li Xiaohan; otherwise, he probably wouldn't have heard her voice. Liu Guanfeng nodded in affirmation, "I should thank you for taking care of me while I was unconscious." He noticed the earrings Li Xiaohan was wearing were the ones he had given her.
"I'm glad you're okay. I should head back now." After saying that, Li Xiaohan turned and walked away.
Seeing Li Xiaohan turn to leave, Liu Guanfeng quickly stepped forward. "Li Xiaohan, let me treat you to lunch today."
Li Xiaohan paused for a moment before standing still. A few seconds later, she nodded slightly and replied, "Okay."
