Liu Guanfeng and Bao Rui are not mercenaries or bandits, so while they can perform well in the Arena, their shortcomings become apparent in a life-or-death situation. Liu Guanfeng struck the assassin with a sword, but instead of hitting a vital area like the throat or heart, he only managed to pierce the assassin's right shoulder.
As Liu Guanfeng withdrew his sword, a spray of blood erupted from the assassin's shoulder blade. The assassin let out a cry, and at the same time, his mount, a leopard, howled in agony. It turned out that the leopard had already lost one of its front paws to XP, and blood was flowing from the wound.
The reason XP was able to drive back the leopard so quickly was due to the mission Liu Guanfeng had given him: to kill the opponent in the shortest time possible. Although Liu Guanfeng had assigned such a task to XP, he found himself significantly hampered. He managed to strike the assassin five times; aside from the first blow that hit the right shoulder, all four subsequent strikes landed on the assassin's legs.
Despite being hit five times, none of the wounds were fatal. The assassin continued to desperately parry Liu Guanfeng's sword with his rapier.
After a few exchanges, a terrible cry came from the leopard as it was struck in the throat by XP and fell dead. Upon receiving news that XP had killed the leopard, Liu Guanfeng immediately instructed XP to team up with several mounts to take down the raccoon as well.
XP received the message and charged toward another battle circle where three mounts were attacking a single raccoon. Although it was surrounded by three mounts, the raccoon was of a higher level than Fire's trio and could hold out for quite some time. However, once XP joined the fight, things changed dramatically.
Before the little raccoon could turn around, it was pinned down by XP. The raccoon's hind leg was injured, but it seized an opportunity and launched a fiery charge at XP, sending it flying. Then Fire bit down on the raccoon's front paw. In pain, the raccoon raised its other paw to scratch at Fire, but Fire dodged and flung the raccoon toward Stone.
Seeing the raccoon flying toward him, Stone immediately hardened his fists into stone and slammed them down, crushing the raccoon into the ground. The poor creature, on the verge of advancing to Fifth-Stage Beast status, lost its life just like that.
Meanwhile, Liu Guanfeng was still engaged with the assassin. Due to his injuries, the assassin's mobility and evasion skills had decreased significantly. However, Liu Guanfeng had never killed anyone in his life—not even a chicken—so the assassin continued to evade him. The only thing the assassin needed to be wary of was Iron Bull, who was attacking alongside Liu Guanfeng with iron rods that would hurt no matter where they struck.
On another front, Copper Bull and Bao Rui were also putting pressure on their assassin opponent. It wasn't that these youths were stronger than two assassins; rather, the assassins had been ambushed and injured without any defenses at first. By the time they realized what was happening, they were already at a disadvantage. To make matters worse, their mounts had been brutally killed by several beasts including XP and Fire before they could even unleash their power.
After witnessing their mounts die, both assassins fought back against their attackers while pulling out cylindrical objects about palm-length from their pockets. Seizing an opportunity, one of them yanked on a small pull ring at the bottom of one cylinder, which immediately shot out fireworks-like projectiles.
Seeing this made Liu Guanfeng's heart race as he shouted in alarm, "Not good!" Suddenly, over a dozen people emerged from behind Liu Guanfeng's courtyard wall. Realizing this situation was dire, Liu Guanfeng quickly pressed forward with several sword strikes to push back the opposing assassin by three or four meters before turning around and shouting to his companions: "Get on your mounts and head inside!"
The one who reacted the fastest was Dai, who had been watching all along. Dai led his Iron Arm Mantis into the house in an instant, while Copper Bull followed closely behind, angrily smashing his iron rod at the assassin in front of him. The assassin was caught off guard and was knocked back several steps by Copper Bull.
Seeing that the assassin had been forced back, Copper Bull shouted, "Bun Bun, get inside!" After saying that, he turned and ran into the house with Bun Bun. At the same time, Bao Rui and Fire also rushed toward the house.
As Liu Guanfeng urged everyone to enter, he pulled Iron Bull beside him, and Iron Bull brought Stone into the room as well. The two assassins saw several youths retreating into the house and intensified their attack.
Liu Guanfeng slowly backed toward the door of the room while instructing xp, "xp, use Fireball to knock those people off the wall."
At that moment, several people on the wall had just steadied themselves when xp immediately unleashed a barrage of fireballs. Each person perched on the wall received a fireball. Suddenly, a few who had just climbed up and hadn't stabilized themselves were directly hit by fireballs and fell down at a speed much faster than they had climbed up. The others who managed to stay upright grabbed their weapons to defend themselves, but a few were still pushed off balance by the force of the fireballs.
Thanks to xp's barrage of fireballs, the wall that had originally supported over ten people was reduced to only three. These three dared not linger on the wall and jumped down directly, stabilizing themselves as they rushed toward Liu Guanfeng, who was being surrounded by two assassins.
Seeing three more people approaching, Liu Guanfeng immediately ordered xp to go inside. As xp shot fireballs at each of the three rushing over, he turned and jumped into the room.
After seeing xp enter, Liu Guanfeng suddenly leaped backward into his own room. One of the two assassins facing him realized that something was wrong when he saw Liu Guanfeng jump back, so he also lunged forward into the room.
At this point, it was impossible for Liu Guanfeng to push this person out anymore because the Five Elements Spirit Gathering Array had already been activated. If it were turned off now, more people might come in. Liu Guanfeng thought to himself that dealing with just this one person would still be manageable.
The incoming assassin felt delighted: "Kid, now you can't escape. Once our people come in, I'll definitely take credit for this." With me in this room, you won't have time to escape through any secret passage because I won't give you a chance. The reason this assassin followed closely behind Liu Guanfeng into the room was that he thought there was a tunnel leading outside from Liu Guanfeng's room and that Liu Guanfeng was planning to escape through it. This ultimately sealed this assassin's tragic fate.
After jumping into the room, the assassin quickly performed a forward roll and positioned himself in a small corner. This way, he could face several youths head-on while holding his Rapier, keeping a vigilant eye on the Five Boys in front of him.
The Five Boys slowly surrounded this assassin, each brandishing their weapons and grinning at him.
At this moment, the assassin felt uncertain; after all, he had just been dealt with by two of the Five Boys, and facing all five of them was not something he had anticipated. Thus, he shouted loudly toward outside: "Hey! Hurry up and come in! These five kids are all here! I'm holding them off; you guys better not just stand outside!"
The assassin shouted loudly in the room, but after a long time, he was terrified to find that no one was coming in from outside.
Liu Guanfeng held his sword and looked at the assassin in front of him. "Stop shouting. Even if you scream your throat raw, those people outside can't get in. There is a defensive formation in this room, and unless I deactivate it, your companions won't be able to break through for at least several hours."
At that moment, the assassin noticed that several of his companions were banging on a thin membrane-like barrier at the door, but no matter how hard they hit it, they couldn't break through. The assassin became even more panicked and said to Liu Guanfeng and the others while gripping his rapier, "Don't come any closer! I am General Ma's Guardians. If anything happens to me here, General Ma will not let you go."
Liu Guanfeng sneered. "General Ma? You mean Ma Weiwu? Do you really think that if I let you go, Ma Weiwu would spare my family? If he could spare us, why would you even be here?"
After saying that, Liu Guanfeng deftly knocked the assassin's rapier aside with his sword, following the direction of the rapier to stab forward and directly hit the assassin's wrist. The assassin felt a sharp pain in his wrist and could no longer hold onto the rapier, which clattered to the ground.
Seeing the rapier fall, Copper Bull and Iron Bull swung their iron rods and struck the assassin's shoulders from both sides. The assassin's arms could no longer be lifted; his bones had been shattered by the two brothers.
Bao Rui also struck with his Twin Swords, piercing two holes in the assassin's thighs. He withdrew his swords, and the assassin collapsed to the ground.
The assassin raised his head in terror as he looked at the few young boys in front of him. From the moment they started fighting, he realized these kids had probably never killed anyone before because they weren't ruthless enough. Therefore, he wasn't too worried about his life. What frightened him was precisely this point; although these kids wouldn't kill him, they would leave him crippled. This kind of experience was truly unbearable for most people.
Liu Guanfeng saw that the assassin was lying on the ground and bleeding profusely. He had no intention of showing mercy by bandaging someone who had come to assassinate them. Liu Guanfeng led Bao Rui and the others to the door. At this moment, there were two or three people attacking the Spirit Gathering Array's defense shield at both Liu Guanfeng's door and several windows with their weapons.
From within the Spirit Gathering Array, Liu Guanfeng saw that flames were rising high in the courtyard where his father was located. Liu Guanfeng clenched his sword tightly; he wanted to rush out and confront those outside to fight to the death. However, over thirty years of life experience quickly calmed him down. He knew that going out would likely lead to disaster not only for himself but also for his companions beside him.
Just then, a tremendous force suddenly burst open the main gate of Liu Guanfeng's courtyard, and dozens of people rushed in from outside, each wielding a heavy iron club.
