Ma Weiwu entered the courtyard, frowning. He did not expect that he had sent nearly twenty Intermediate Knights and after such a long time, they had failed to capture Liu Guanfeng's children. Moreover, three of them were seriously injured, and two were unaccounted for.
Ma Weiwu turned his gaze to the two remaining standing black-clad figures and said, "You useless bunch, with so many of you, you can't even handle a few kids. What good are you?"
The two black-clad men were so frightened that they knelt on the ground. "General, spare us! We truly are powerless. The person lying at the entrance is an Advanced Knight, and the others have died in battle. We barely managed to survive ourselves."
Furious, Ma Weiwu stepped forward and kicked each of the black-clad men. "Useless trash, making excuses after failing. If there's a next time, I'll chop you both up. Get out of my sight." Hearing Ma Weiwu's words, the two black-clad men repeatedly thanked him and retreated to rest under a large tree.
Ma Weiwu then looked at Liu Yongmin lying on the ground. Liu Yongmin was unconscious now, but beside him was a Mud Lizard watching intently. Seeing the Mud Lizard made Ma Weiwu quite displeased. He ordered his Seventh Tier Leopard to attack.
The Leopard slowly moved to the back of the crowd and began to circle around to the left side of the Mud Lizard. At this moment, the Mud Lizard had all its attention focused on Ma Weiwu, realizing that he was the leader of these people. Its intelligence was not high enough to notice the cold eyes watching it from its left side.
Ma Weiwu took a step forward and smiled at the Mud Lizard. "How about it, little Lizard? You might as well give up resisting." As a Fifth Tier magical beast, the Mud Lizard could understand human speech, but it responded to Ma Weiwu with a display of its white teeth.
Ma Weiwu sneered again. "Ignorant beast, do you really think you can protect that person beside you? You're truly asking for death; being so stubborn means you don't deserve to live." As soon as Ma Weiwu finished speaking, his Leopard charged out from the left side of the Mud Lizard.
Before the Giant Lizard could react, it was bitten in the throat by the Leopard. Bright red blood flowed from the Giant Lizard's neck. A Seventh Tier magical beast ambushing an already injured Fifth Stage Beast was essentially a guaranteed kill.
The blood from the Mud Lizard flowed more and more; it kicked its legs and took one last reluctant glance at Liu Yongmin before finally closing its eyes.
Inside the Spirit Gathering Array, the Copper Bull brothers were already in tears, while the black-clad man beneath their feet had long been beaten by several youths until he could only gasp for breath.
The Copper Bull brothers gathered around Liu Guanfeng and pounded on the thick walls of the Spirit Gathering Array. Iron Bull turned to Liu Guanfeng and said:
"Third Brother, let me out! I want to save Father."
Liu Guanfeng shook his head. "You won't be able to save your father by going out; you'll only end up dead."
Iron Bull looked at Liu Guanfeng firmly and said, "Even if I die, I must save Father."
At this moment, Copper Bull was also looking at Liu Guanfeng. "Third Brother, if we really can't come back, please forgive our recklessness. After all, that person outside is our father. Without him, we wouldn't be in this world. Please help us out, Third Brother." After saying this, Copper Bull was about to kneel down, but Liu Guanfeng supported him.
"I can take the risk to save your father, but you two must not go out. Let Fire and Bump assist me in rescuing him." Upon hearing that Liu Guanfeng wanted to save Liu Yongmin, smiles appeared on the faces of Copper Bull and his brother.
"Third Brother, just tell us how to coordinate with Bump."
Liu Guanfeng looked at Bao Rui and Copper Bull. After all, the two Mounts belonged to them, and they wouldn't listen to his commands. So Liu Guanfeng lowered his voice and said, "In a moment, I will open the shield. You two need to have Fire and Bump continuously shoot fireballs outside without stopping until I close the shield. The two nodded eagerly to show they understood. Liu Guanfeng then called XP over.
"XP, your task is to go out and rescue people. Do you see the person lying on the ground about two meters away from us?" XP looked outside and nodded.
"When you rush out, make sure to knock aside that Leopard next to you before going to save him; otherwise, it will be hard for you to return safely."
"Got it, Master. I understand. Leave it to me; I've never fought against an opponent of the same level before."
"Be careful; there is not just one Seventh Tier beast outside but also a group of lower-tier ones. Moreover, there should be an Advanced Knight on the opposite side. If they get entangled with you, it will be troublesome." After giving these instructions, Liu Guanfeng led XP to the door and positioned Bump and Fire at two windows.
Outside, the Leopard was currently tearing into a Mud Lizard that had just breathed its last. Everyone's attention was focused on the slaughter of beasts in the courtyard when Liu Guanfeng seized the opportunity to quickly deactivate the Spirit Gathering Array. The blue membrane inside the house vanished instantly.
The first to react was Ma Weiwu; as an Advanced Knight, his reflexes were far superior to others. The moment the shield disappeared, he realized something was wrong and exclaimed "Not good." Just as he was about to say more, dozens of fireballs flew toward him.
The two beasts at the windows unleashed their full firepower; rows of fireballs erupted from their mouths and nostrils like heavy machine guns catching nearly a hundred people off guard. At this moment, XP rushed out protected by a golden light, targeting only the Leopard in front of him. As he charged out, he didn't forget to throw a few fireballs at his opponent.
When XP got close to the Leopard, Ma Weiwu's Leopard reacted quickly by activating its Metalization skill. With a loud clang, the two beasts collided and sparks flew. The Leopard was knocked back several steps by XP's charge. Taking advantage of the Leopard's retreat, XP swiftly grabbed Liu Yongmin in his mouth and forcefully tossed him back through the door.
This is where high-level beasts show their intelligence; they can respond appropriately based on different situations instead of just blindly obeying their master's commands like low-level beasts.
When Liu Yongmin was thrown into the doorway, his two sons were anxiously waiting for XP's return but were taken by surprise when their father flew in first. In a panic, they caught their father but were knocked down by inertia. However, neither brother let go and instead used their bodies as cushions for their father for a moment.
xp threw Liu Yongmin back against the door and turned to face Leopard, unleashing five fireballs. Fire counters gold, and Leopard was jumping left and right, but one fireball still hit Leopard, causing it to howl in pain.
Ma Weiwu saw a Mount come out to rescue Liu Yongmin back into the room and quickly blocked the incoming fireball, preparing to charge forward. However, sensing danger, xp jumped back and used Seismic Technique on the more than a hundred people in the courtyard. Ma Weiwu, his Leopard, and all the assassins along with their Mount lost their balance as the ground shook beneath them.
One by one, they stumbled, giving Fire and Bumbling a great opportunity for revenge. Suddenly, the two beasts intensified their firepower. What had been a barrage of fireballs transformed into two fire dragons that charged into the crowd. Many knights in the front row and their Mounts were swept up by the fire dragons while off balance, igniting flames on half of those in the courtyard who began rolling or desperately trying to extinguish the flames.
Even Ma Weiwu and Leopard, who were at the forefront, were not spared. This was not due to Ma Weiwu's lack of strength but because he and Leopard were specifically targeted. Copper Bull and Bao Rui instructed their Mounts to leave some "gifts" for Ma Weiwu, while xp, retreating, concentrated all attack power on this one man and beast at the front.
xp returned to the room at top speed, continuing his assault without pause. As a Seventh Tier beast, xp's attacks far surpassed those of Fire and Bumbling, both peak Fourth Rank beasts. Each of xp's fireballs was larger than the combined fireballs of the two beasts and shot out much faster. Even Ma Weiwu could only avoid direct confrontation with xp's powerful attacks.
With two windows, one door, three beasts, and three flamethrowers, Liu Guanfeng's small courtyard was illuminated as bright as day.
Seeing that xp had entered the range of the Spirit Gathering Array, Liu Guanfeng immediately began chanting to reactivate the spirit gathering formation. A semi-circular blue protective shield slowly rose up and finally sealed in front of xp. In these last few seconds, xp desperately continued to shoot fireballs from his mouth.
The blue shield had risen, but Fire across from it had not yet been completely extinguished. Many people and beasts were still rolling around trying to put out flames when someone noticed an ancient well in a corner of the courtyard. This led to a scene reminiscent of a water-splashing festival.
The flames were quickly doused, leaving over a hundred people and their Mounts soaked like drowned rats. The worst off were still Ma Weiwu and his Leopard. His subordinates managed to put out the flames on him with water; at this point, most of Ma Weiwu's hair was gone, with only some singed patches remaining on his head.
Beside him, Leopard looked even worse; its once majestic golden fur was now almost unrecognizable under layers of blackened singe. If it weren't for the timely dousing by Ma Weiwu's subordinates, it would have likely turned into a roasted leopard by now.
Meanwhile, inside the house, Liu Guanfeng and several young boys had no time to observe what was happening outside; they were all focused on Liu Yongmin, who still had his eyes tightly shut as blood continued to flow from him.
