The blacksmith's face turned red after being confronted by Copper Bull, and he pointed at Copper Bull, saying, "You dare to insult Master Qi's work and think you are justified. Everyone, don't you think these kids are too arrogant? This is the Headquarters of the Blacksmith Guild; how can you act so recklessly?"
At this moment, several people nearby chimed in:
"Who are these kids with such poor upbringing that they can speak about Master Qi's work like this? Can you even evaluate Master Qi?" said a more refined-looking person standing aside.
"I think these kids are just too bold to criticize Master Qi's work. I should teach them a lesson," said a fierce-looking middle-aged knight as he prepared to take action.
With several people fanning the flames, the crowd began to verbally attack Bao Rui and Copper Bull. Perhaps because Bao Rui and Copper Bull were still children, if they had been adults, a fight would have likely already broken out.
Just as the argument was escalating, a group of people approached from a distance. Among them was a man in his forties walking in the center, flanked by guards. The middle-aged man arrived beside the arguing crowd and said, "Everyone quiet down! This is the Blacksmith Guild, not some street market. What kind of behavior is this?"
The arguing crowd immediately fell silent and looked at the newcomers. Someone recognized the man and bowed respectfully, saying, "Greetings, Dragon President."
The man known as Dragon President nodded and asked one of those who greeted him, "Can you tell me what exactly happened? Why is there a commotion here?"
That person composed himself and replied, "Reporting to Vice President, we were all here admiring President Qi's exquisite items. Just as everyone was enjoying it, this young man claimed that President Qi's masterpiece was merely average, which led to our argument. We implore Dragon President to expel these arrogant individuals from the Blacksmith Guild." He pointed at Liu Guanfeng and the other two with righteous indignation.
Dragon President nodded and instructed his subordinates, "You three go and expel these kids from the guild."
While the crowd was arguing, Liu Guanfeng had not spoken up; after all, it was free speech, and he couldn't be bothered to explain anything to those outsiders. Since no one had taken action yet, he thought it best to let them talk.
However, things were different now; the newly arrived Vice President named Long was directly ordering their expulsion. Liu Guanfeng could no longer remain silent. He stepped forward to stand in front of Bao Rui and Copper Bull and addressed Dragon President with a fist salute: "May I ask how I should address you?"
Seeing this young man stepping forward with such poise, Dragon President signaled for his subordinates to hold off and replied to Liu Guanfeng, "I am called Dragon Ring, Vice President of this Blacksmith Guild. What do you wish to discuss?"
"Dragon Ring President, is it that the Blacksmith Guild does not allow others to evaluate your works?" Liu Guanfeng stared at Dragon Ring.
"Evaluating works is fine, but it depends on whether the evaluator has the qualifications," Dragon Ring said disdainfully.
"So, Dragon Ring President, what qualifies someone to evaluate?"
"That's simple. Just take out your weapon and we'll see."
"Oh? So as long as we can present a weapon that's somewhat comparable, we can evaluate your works?" Liu Guanfeng smiled slightly.
"That depends on how comparable it is. Show us your weapons; just make sure you don't bring out any scrap metal."
Liu Guanfeng exchanged glances with Bao Rui, who then drew his Twin Blades. When the surrounding people saw Bao Rui's weapons, they immediately erupted into derisive laughter.
"Is this scrap metal really comparable to Master Qi's works?"
"If you're too poor to buy decent equipment, don't come here and embarrass yourself."
"Hey, you three little kids over there, have you ever seen a real weapon? Can you even show something like this?"
The surrounding voices grew louder.
Liu Guanfeng frowned after hearing this and looked at Dragon Ring with disdain. The reason Liu Guanfeng had Bao Rui take out his weapon was that, from appearance alone, Bao Rui's weapon looked no different from an ordinary sword. In terms of quality, Bao Rui's sword was somewhat inferior to Liu Guanfeng's Twin Iron Halberds. Liu Guanfeng cleared his throat.
"Are you saying that the weapons we brought out are scrap metal?" Liu Guanfeng shot a sideways glance at Dragon Ring, who was not paying attention to Bao Rui's sword and was instead gazing at the sky. At that moment, one of the people who had mocked them stepped forward.
This person also carried a sword on his back and approached Liu Guanfeng, saying, "I say kid, what's wrong with saying your weapons are scrap metal? Let me show you what a real weapon looks like." With that, he drew his sword, revealing a golden thread running along its blade that shimmered with light.
Liu Guanfeng looked at the long sword and nodded, "A metallic long sword, it looks decent, but the forging technique is lacking a bit. In this second floor, it's only suitable for display, just like you, a fool."
The man raised his eyebrows, "How dare you say that Mr. Huoguang's work is lacking? I think you really don't know what's good for you. Bring your treasured sword over here, and I'll chop it in half."
Liu Guanfeng smiled slightly and gestured to Bao Rui. Bao Rui then held his treasured sword up in front of the man, "See? Don't hold back. If you break it, I'll just make another one when I get back," he said with a laugh.
The man gripped his sword tightly, "Kid, don't start crying." He swung with all his might at Bao Rui's Twin Swords. With a loud clang, everyone focused their attention again and saw that Bao Rui's treasured sword was perfectly intact while the man was left holding half of his sword.
"This... this... how is this possible?" The man stared blankly at his broken sword, muttering to himself.
Bao Rui shook his head lightly, "Is there anyone else who wants to give it a try?"
Huoguang's reputation was quite prominent here at Headquarters; even his crafted weapons were so inferior that others didn't dare to step forward easily.
Suddenly, an awkward silence fell over the room. Dragon Ring glanced around and cleared his throat. He whispered something to a nearby guard, who then left and returned shortly with a shield in hand.
The guard pushed through the crowd and placed the shield on his arm, smiling at Bao Rui as he said, "I'll give your rusty sword a try. Just as long as you can hit my shield."
Liu Guanfeng looked at the guard's arm shield and nodded, "Hmm, not bad. This shield is of much better quality than that sword earlier; no wonder you have such confidence. It seems the creator of this shield must be Dragon Ring, President." Liu Guanfeng glanced at Dragon Ring since he had noticed everything Dragon Ring did earlier.
Dragon Ring smiled and nodded. The shield he had brought out was one of his recent favorites. It was made from the shell of a giant turtle from the deep sea, mixed with deep-sea magic cloud stone and crafted using the core of a Fifth Tier giant turtle to create a Water Attribute shield. The surface of the shield could form a Water Shield to enhance its defensive capabilities; to shatter this shield, one would first need to break through the Water Shield on its surface. Moreover, Dragon Ring felt somewhat embarrassed about using a treasured sword against a shield; it seemed a bit unfair.
Although Liu Guanfeng recognized the issue, he didn't point it out. He smiled and took Bao Rui's Twin Blades from him. Liu Guanfeng understood that Bao Rui lacked sufficient strength and was at a disadvantage against the opponent's shield attributes; thus, he had to step in himself. Liu Guanfeng looked at Dragon Ring and said, "Vice President, let me give it a try."
"Go ahead," Dragon Ring gestured towards the guard.
Liu Guanfeng weighed the treasured sword in his hand and said to the guard, "Make sure you hold that shield well so you don't get hurt." With his right hand gripping the sword, in an instant, the Twin Blades transformed into gold, adorned with several silver lightning streaks along its blade. Liu Guanfeng then aimed carefully at the shield and thrust forward with great force. With a loud bang, Bao Rui's Twin Blades pierced into the shield.
Liu Guanfeng had a firm grasp of his strength; although he pierced the shield, he did not injure the knight guard. In fact, Liu Guanfeng had played a little trick here. He utilized the lightning attribute on himself to numb his opponent's arm, preventing them from focusing on activating the Water Shield to protect the shield. Moreover, both Metallic and Water Attributes were excellent conductors of electricity, which maximized the paralysis effect of the lightning.
Liu Guanfeng exerted force again, pulling the Twin Blades out of the shield, leaving a noticeable mark on it. The moment the Twin Blades pierced the shield, it signified the shield's destruction.
"This is impossible." Standing nearby, Dragon Ring widened his eyes in disbelief. He could not believe that an ordinary iron sword could directly destroy his meticulously crafted shield. He took the shield from the guard and examined it closely. The guard said to Dragon Ring, "My lord, my arm suddenly went numb earlier, and I couldn't activate the Water Shield in time, which is why the opponent pierced through the shield."
After hearing the guard's words, Dragon Ring frowned and pointed at Liu Guanfeng, saying, "You are cheating."
Upon hearing Dragon Ring's words, Liu Guanfeng laughed instead: "I say, Dragon Ring, don't you think it's cheating to let a treasure sword strike a shield?" Liu Guanfeng teased Dragon Ring.
"That... that..." Liu Guanfeng's words left Dragon Ring speechless.
"Dragon Ring, President, do we now have the qualifications to evaluate President Qi Fengge's work?" Copper Bull enjoyed stirring the pot.
Dragon Ring's eyes turned red: "No way! If you want to evaluate President Qi's work, you must crush President Qi's work just like before." At this point, Dragon Ring was somewhat flustered; perhaps he felt he couldn't save face.
After hearing Dragon Ring's words, Liu Guanfeng also frowned: "Dragon President, don't you think that's a bit excessive?" Liu Guanfeng intended to spare some face for the Blacksmith Guild since Qi Fengge was the President of the entire guild. Destroying Qi Fengge's work in front of him would be a direct slap in the face.
However, Dragon Ring thought differently. Seeing Liu Guanfeng retreat slightly made him smile: "What's wrong? Are you scared? Since that's the case, kneel in front of President Qi's showcase and knock your head three times before rolling out of the Blacksmith Guild."
Hearing Dragon Ring's words ignited Liu Guanfeng's anger. Although Liu Guanfeng was usually known for being low-key and peaceful, that did not mean he lacked temper; on the contrary, he often suppressed it intentionally. In fact, Liu Guanfeng’s anger was considerable. After handing over his Twin Blades to Bao Rui, he pulled out his Twin Iron Halberds and coldly looked at Dragon Ring: "Dragon President, then why don't you present your opinion on President Qi's work for me to try?"
