At this moment, Liu Guanfeng could only resort to ambush tactics. He slowly concealed himself behind a wall outside the courtyard, using a rockery to shield his body. Liu Guanfeng planned to wait until the others succeeded in their task and startled the Boss, allowing him to catch the opponent off guard when he emerged.

In hiding, Liu Guanfeng slowly saw a yellow figure running toward him. He said to XP, "When Earth Bear gets close, use vines to grab his legs. We need to take down the Boss here; we can't let him escape. Bao Rui and the others outside are no match for him."
As the yellow figure reached Liu Guanfeng's side, several thick vines rapidly grew and ensnared Earth Bear's forelimbs. The person sitting on top was caught off guard and was thrown off. Seizing the opportunity, Liu Guanfeng dashed forward while XP charged at the ensnared Earth Bear.
Without hesitation, Liu Guanfeng launched a Mountain Pressing Down attack with his Twin Halberds aimed directly at the Boss's head. The Boss, however, was no ordinary bandit; as an Advanced Knight, his combat experience far surpassed that of minor characters like Third Leader.
The Boss did not attempt to block Liu Guanfeng's Twin Halberds head-on; instead, he rolled away and quickly retrieved his weapon from where it had fallen. Gripping his weapon tightly, he stood up and brandished his iron staff at Liu Guanfeng: "Who are you? Why are you attacking my stronghold in the middle of the night?"
Liu Guanfeng positioned his Twin Halberds in front of him: "Boss, you must have forgotten; do you not recall what happened this afternoon?"
The Boss furrowed his brow: "It's you? I wasn't looking for you, but you've come here to seek death yourself. Fine, I'll send you on your way." With that, he swung his iron staff toward Liu Guanfeng. Liu Guanfeng raised his Twin Halberds to parry; with a loud clang, he was pushed back two steps while the Boss stumbled back five or six steps before regaining his balance.
From this exchange, it was clear that Liu Guanfeng had slightly more strength than the Boss. Seeing the Boss stagger back unsteadily, Liu Guanfeng twisted his waist and charged again.
Liu Guanfeng's left-hand halberd came down from above while the Boss attempted to deflect it with his iron staff. When their weapons clashed, Liu Guanfeng swung his right-hand halberd horizontally toward the Boss's waist. The Boss tried to dodge but was caught by the tip of the halberd and suffered a cut.
Liu Guanfeng did not pause; he continued with relentless strikes—upward thrusts followed by downward slashes and left-to-right sweeps. At first, the Boss managed to defend himself and counterattack against Liu Guanfeng's varied techniques. However, every time he attempted to retaliate, he ended up injuring himself instead while failing to land a single hit on Liu Guanfeng.
At this moment, Liu Guanfeng exposed a flaw to Boss. Boss thrust the end of his iron rod directly at Liu Guanfeng's face, while Liu Guanfeng calmly used the iron halberd in his left hand to block the opponent's iron rod. He then turned his body 180 degrees and swept his right-hand halberd across Boss's neck. Boss ducked just in time, but Liu Guanfeng did not stop; he continued to use the momentum to turn around and struck downwards with his left-hand halberd towards Boss's back.
Boss felt a gust of wind at the back of his head and exclaimed, "Not good." He exerted all his strength to lunge forward, but it was still a moment too late. Liu Guanfeng's halberd tip grazed from his back down to his waist. Although it missed a fatal blow, the impact was still quite painful.
After narrowly avoiding a deadly strike, Boss felt a burning pain in his back. This was something he had never experienced since becoming an Advanced Knight. He grabbed the front of his shirt with his right hand and yanked it off, exposing his upper body. Boss growled angrily, "You little brat have some vicious methods. Today, I will let you taste the power of an Advanced Knight."
With that, he tightened his grip on the heavy iron rod and charged at Liu Guanfeng. When he was three meters away, he suddenly swung the rod down. Liu Guanfeng quickly dodged to the right, only to see the iron rod seemingly extend as a yellow light struck where he had just been standing.
This was the power of an Advanced Knight, capable of releasing their Fighting Qi through their weapon for long-range attacks up to two or three meters away. As time passed, Liu Guanfeng inevitably became careless and was hit by Boss's iron rod several times. Even so, being struck still hurt; by the fifth hit from Boss, blood had already trickled from Liu Guanfeng's mouth. He wiped away the blood with his hand and continued to respond cautiously.
After several consecutive attacks, Boss readied himself again and looked at Liu Guanfeng. "How does it feel, kid? The taste of my iron rod is not pleasant, is it?"
Liu Guanfeng shook his head. "You talk too much. I'm here to take your life today; just show me what you've got. I estimate your Younger Brothers outside are probably down to just a few now." At that moment, shouts and sounds of battle echoed outside amidst flames rising high into the sky. Boss glanced over and said, "You little brat are too arrogant." With that, he swung his rod to attack.
Liu Guanfeng's sole purpose was to provoke him; only by enraging him could he find an opportunity to strike back. As he deflected blows left and right, he carefully observed Boss's movements for any openings.
Nearby, XP and Earth Bear were nearing the end of their battle. A Seventh Tier magical beast held a significant advantage over a Sixth Tier one; moreover, XP was no ordinary beast but a Five Element Beast. XP unleashed spells of five different attributes in rapid succession, leaving Earth Bear in agony. Although Earth Bear had impressive defensive capabilities as an Earth Department beast, it ultimately could not withstand the attacks from five elemental spells.
After more than thirty exchanges in battle, Earth Bear let out a reluctant roar. Its throat had been torn open by XP's claws, blood flowing profusely. After casting one last glance at Boss, Earth Bear slowly closed its eyes.
Feeling that his mount had died, Boss exclaimed in pain, "Ouch!" He then picked up the iron rod and lunged at XP, raising it high to strike down. XP nimbly jumped aside and countered with a fireball aimed at Boss. After deflecting the fireball with his iron rod, Boss angrily shouted while pointing at Liu Guanfeng:
"You both will die here today; I will avenge my old partner." At that moment, Liu Guanfeng also charged forward with Twin Halberds once more engaging Boss in combat while XP continued launching surprise attacks from the side. Surrounded by both man and beast attacking him simultaneously, Boss quickly released Fighting Qi again, summoning another five-meter-long iron rod.
Now Liu Guanfeng had found a way to counter; he continuously deflected Boss's iron rod with his halberd while searching for an opportunity to strike back.
At that moment, the Boss delivered a powerful strike, swinging his iron rod towards Liu Guanfeng's head. Simultaneously, XP, benefiting from Liu Guanfeng's distraction, launched five fireballs at the Boss. Feeling a sudden heat behind him, the Boss quickly turned to dodge. Seizing this opportunity, Liu Guanfeng aimed at the Boss and threw his iron halberd with all his might. The halberd spun through the air towards the Boss.
The Boss was so focused on the fireballs in front of him that he failed to notice the halberd being thrown by Liu Guanfeng. With the darkness settling in, by the time the Boss reacted, the halberd was already right in front of him. With a "thud," the tip of the halberd pierced into the Boss's abdomen, and due to inertia, it penetrated through his body.
Holding his iron rod and looking at the halberd embedded in his abdomen, the Boss glanced at Liu Guanfeng before rolling his eyes and collapsing to the ground.
Liu Guanfeng's move was the thirty-sixth technique of the Earthly Destruction Hammer Technique. Created by Bai Hu, this technique is divided into two parts: the first thirty-six techniques are known as Twin Halberds, while the latter thirty-six are single halberd techniques. The name of the thirty-sixth technique in Twin Halberds is called Revolving Earth Star, which signifies that the halberd spins as it flies out.
Liu Guanfeng had a particular fondness for this move and practiced it diligently, which led to his current achievement of unexpectedly killing an Advanced Knight with a halberd.
Seeing that the Boss had fallen, Liu Guanfeng sat down on the ground. This battle had been quite perilous; if it weren't for XP timely dealing with Earth Bear, he wouldn't have dared to use Revolving Earth Star so recklessly. Otherwise, he would have continued to be mercilessly beaten by the Boss's iron rod, and if he had been struck on the head, he could have ended up dead or severely injured.
At this moment, XP was guarding the front door of the courtyard, while there was no sound coming from the backyard. It seemed that this Boss was quite confident in his abilities since there were no guards arranged in the courtyard; all guards entering through the door had been blocked by XP.
After resting for about five minutes, Liu Guanfeng got up and forcefully pulled out the halberd from the Boss's abdomen. He then approached Earth Bear and cleaved open its head to retrieve a walnut-sized Core. After securing the Core, he grasped his Twin Halberds and exited the Boss's courtyard.
When Liu Guanfeng reached the entrance of the courtyard, he found many people gathered outside, seemingly rushing over to protect the Boss. Meanwhile, chaos reigned in the village as fires blazed uncontrollably nearby, accompanied by shouts of battle.
As Liu Guanfeng stood at the entrance, those bandits were suddenly taken aback; they hadn't expected their revered Boss to be unable to emerge from the courtyard.
Liu Guanfeng brandished his Twin Iron Halberds and shouted loudly: "Your Boss has been killed by me! Who among you is not afraid of death? Step forward!"
