As part of the competition, Liu Guanfeng required an individual Campus Competition to be held first, selecting one first prize winner, two second prize winners, and three third prize winners from each team, totaling six people. Each competition must stem from their daily training. For example, the main focus of the Copper Bull's Giant Hammer Corps is strength; if they were assessed on archery, a skill they have never encountered, it would be a form of torture for these giants.
Similarly, if two archery teams were made to compete in a strength contest, it would also be unfair to them. Therefore, Liu Guanfeng first needed to select the strongest individual combatants from several teams and then incentivize everyone to practice through rewards.
The competition events for each team are as follows:
- Giant Hammer Corps: Push-ups, pull-ups, lifting Stone Lock, transporting Stone Lock, Hammer throw.
- Golden Hammer Squad: Push-ups, pull-ups, lifting Stone Lock, precision throwing of the Golden Hammer, martial arts contest.
- Battle Axe Corps: Push-ups, pull-ups, lifting Stone Lock, tree felling, charging and chopping tree stumps.
- Longbow Corps: Push-ups, bent-arm hangs, bow draw time, throwing distance, throwing accuracy.
- Short Work Team: Push-ups, bent-arm hangs, shooting, shooting accuracy, precision shooting.
- Ghost Leopard Special Forces: Stealth, reconnaissance, assassination, theft, flying darts.
- Reinforced Battalion: Hand-to-hand combat, weapon trials, throwing knives, flying darts, long-distance running.
These seven teams' competition events were the result of discussions among Liu Guanfeng and several team leaders and captains as well as Qinglong (Azure Dragon), Xuanwu (Black Tortoise), and Baihu (White Tiger). These events reflect the characteristics of each team based on their daily training.
Each competition was conducted with the collective effort of all team leaders. To avoid favoritism during the contests, team leaders could not serve as judges for their own teams; they were only responsible for organizing their soldiers to participate seriously in the competitions.
The first competition was held for the Copper Bull's Giant Hammer Corps. All members of the Giant Hammer Corps quietly prepared on the training ground. Liu Guanfeng mandated that all soldiers participate in the competition according to their ranks. A soldier was assigned to count and stand behind the participants. Liu Guanfeng also stipulated that anyone caught cheating would be immediately expelled from Diaoyu Island.
To save time, Liu Guanfeng simultaneously held a pull-up competition for the Golden Hammer Squad, and the entire Diaoyu Island was filled with cheers and soldiers motivating themselves.
This lively scene lasted for nearly a month, and eventually, the six winners from all teams were determined. Liu Guanfeng was delighted to find that a significant portion of the winners were officers he had appointed in the past. The fact that most of the officers excelled in this competition indicated that they had set a good example during their usual training. Moreover, each of them had spent more time training and at a higher intensity than ordinary soldiers, which was a positive sign. If this atmosphere continued, Liu Guanfeng had reason to believe his soldiers would become increasingly outstanding, as their grassroots leaders were genuine role models.
With all individual events concluded, only one final competition remained. Liu Guanfeng was eager to assess the strength of his Ghost Leopard Special Forces, so he announced the last competition:
"Starting today, we will enter the final team combat competition. Each team is required to send one battalion into the field, and your opponents will be our Ghost Leopard Special Forces." As Liu Guanfeng spoke, all soldiers turned their gaze toward the Ghost Leopard Special Forces. The members of this Special Forces seemed unfazed and continued to focus on Liu Guanfeng at the Command Platform.
"We will first allow the Ghost Leopard Special Forces to enter the mountains behind us, followed by your teams. The duration will be one week. After one week, the number of team members who emerge from the mountains will determine victory. If the Ghost Leopard Special Forces successfully eliminate any battalion members during these five weeks, I will reward your entire brigade. Rewards for other teams will be calculated separately and will not be included in the Special Forces rewards. Now, I invite the five team leaders to come up and draw lots to determine the order of competition."
Bao Rui, Song Haitao De, and three other team leaders stepped onto the Command Platform to draw lots from Liu Guanfeng's hand. The final order was established as follows: Golden Hammer Squad, Longbow Corps, Reinforced Battalion, Short Bow Squad, Giant Hammer Corps, and Battle Axe Corps. Once the competition order was set, the other team leaders stepped aside to watch while Iron Bull from the Golden Hammer Squad approached his team to select participants for the competition.
Meanwhile, Dai and Ghost Leopard King also came forward with their team. Although their squad consisted of only about forty members, they knew that their training intensity and density were unmatched by these other teams. They trained almost every day from five in the morning until six or seven in the evening with hardly any breaks during those hours. This rigorous training had forged their resilience. Additionally, they often practiced stealth exercises in the mountains; sometimes Ghost Leopard King would place them in hiding while he rested nearby for one or two days before sending them out to search for them if they were caught.
Many members of the Ghost Leopard Special Forces had experienced waking up startled from nightmares. They also had a training exercise where they had to kill a designated beast among a group of monsters without alerting others. Through repeated killings, these soldiers became exceptionally calm.
Dai looked at his soldiers and was very satisfied with their earlier performance:
"You all heard that this time it’s our brigade against an entire corps. Whether we win or lose depends on your performance. However, I must say upfront that I expect more than just one successful kill; you need to successfully eliminate three out of five teams. If you fail..." Dai did not finish his sentence, but his prolonged pause sent chills down the spines of all members of the Ghost Leopard Special Forces.
Iron Bull had already selected his personnel and conducted a brief mobilization speech. Then Liu Guanfeng once again addressed everyone with a simple introduction of relevant matters:
"This competition will use wooden weapons and bows and arrows. Each participant will carry a small red flag on them; whoever is killed must not shout or call for teammates after being hit; if they do so directly, it will be judged as total defeat for their team. After death, they must place their red flag on their helmet when exiting the mountainous area; no further attacks are allowed on them by others. Both sides should pay attention to each other's safety during combat; however, injuries are inevitable and will reflect your usual training results. Do you understand?"
"Understood." All the soldiers replied loudly.
Liu Guanfeng nodded while standing on the Command Platform: "Good, now the Ghost Leopard Special Forces can go out. The Golden Hammer Squad will head out in an hour. We will reconvene here at this time in seven days to see the results."
Under the leadership of Deputy Captain Gao Yu, the Ghost Leopard Special Forces bowed to Liu Guanfeng and then headed straight toward the mountains behind them. The entire mountainous area was formed by two large mountains connected together, inhabited by a large number of low-level magical beasts, most of which were herbivorous. This provided a guarantee of safety for the soldiers and also offered a substantial source of meat for the army.

Checking the time again, Liu Guanfeng issued another command to the Golden Hammer Squad: "The Golden Hammer Squad can head out now."
With a roar from Iron Bull, one of his selected squads, led by a Camp Commander, charged into the mountains behind them. In no time, they disappeared into the mountains. Seeing his team enter, Iron Bull cheerfully approached Liu Guanfeng and said, "Third Brother, my brothers have also gone into the mountains."
"Iron Bull, how confident are you in your brothers' performance?" Liu Guanfeng asked with a smile.
Iron Bull laughed heartily, "Does Third Brother need to ask about confidence? I have four hundred brothers; I trust them completely. That other team has only about forty people. I don't think it will take long before those forty or so will come out waving little flags."
Standing nearby, Dai did not offer any rebuttal; he simply smiled at Iron Bull. This smile carried no mockery; everyone was just used to watching Iron Bull show off. Moreover, Dai only revealed this kind of smile in front of Liu Guanfeng and the Five People. If his Special Forces soldiers saw this smile, they would likely think their commander had lost his mind.
Seeing Dai silent, Iron Bull walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, how long do you think it will take for all your soldiers to be brought out by my brothers?" Iron Bull teased.
Dai glanced at Iron Bull and cheerfully replied, "Iron Bull, I bet your brothers won't last four days in the deep mountains before they all come out."
Upon hearing this, Iron Bull pouted dramatically. "You little brat, just keep talking. Fine, I'll bet you; if I lose, I'll have Wang Jiao wash your socks for a month." At that moment, Bao Rui heard Iron Bull's words and quickly rushed to stand behind him, kicking him playfully.
"Don't drag our Wang Jiao into your bets."
Seeing the playful banter among them, Liu Guanfeng couldn't help but smile. The past month had been exhausting for the young men, but he needed to maintain some dignity in front of his subordinates. Thus, Liu Guanfeng quickly composed himself and said, "You two should quiet down; this is the Command Platform. Look at yourselves!"
Iron Bull and Bao Rui realized they had crossed a line and promptly shut their mouths. However, their eyes continued to compete with each other. Liu Guanfeng shook his head and said, "Let's go in and see how your brothers are performing."
Dai nodded in agreement. Liu Guanfeng mounted Little Black and rode off toward the mountains with XP following closely behind. Dai also rode his Iron Arm Mantis right after them, while Ghost Child trailed behind Dai.
