Without saying a word, Liu Guanfeng charged forward with his spear. Facing thousands of wild wolves, Liu Guanfeng showed no fear, knowing that the ordinary attacks of these Little Wolves could not penetrate his skin, and the wild wolves outside the fray could not cast spells on him.
At this moment, Liu Guanfeng swung his Fang Tian Hua Ji as if he were in an uninhabited realm. The large spear moved with great force, and each swing sent up a mist of blood. Having made up his mind, after clearing away the surrounding wild wolves with his Fang Tian Ji, Liu Guanfeng gripped his spear tightly and hurled it forward. The Fang Tian Hua Ji flew straight in a line into the wolf pack ahead, and Liu Guanfeng followed closely behind with his Seven Star Step Technique while drawing out his throwing knives from his waist. In an instant, he launched all of his throwing knives. With the path cleared by both the Fang Tian Hua Ji and the throwing knives, Liu Guanfeng quickly approached the massive rock where the Wolf King was located.
After launching all of his throwing knives, Liu Guanfeng pulled out his Twin Iron Halberds from behind him. He leaped up and stepped twice on the rock before flying directly onto the giant stone. This action startled the Wolf King momentarily; however, seeing Liu Guanfeng ascend to the rock, the Wolf King wasted no time and charged at him while he was still stabilizing himself.
As the Wolf King approached, Liu Guanfeng steadied himself and prepared to meet him with his Twin Halberds. Although he felt somewhat passive due to anticipating the Wolf King's attack, everything was within his expectations, so he remained calm.
After clashing once with the Wolf King, Liu Guanfeng gained some confidence. In terms of strength, the Wolf King was indeed stronger than any wild wolf he had encountered before. However, unlike bears or elephants that were purely power-based beasts, wolves were different; although stronger than other wild wolves, they still fell short compared to Liu Guanfeng.
Additionally, with Liu Guanfeng's own Seven Star Step Technique and Earthly Destruction Hammer Technique, he felt quite confident facing this Wolf King. After several exchanges between man and beast, it became clear to the Wolf King that although this young man was not very old, his movements and agility were far beyond what an average adult could match.
After their first encounter, the Wolf King quickly distanced himself from Liu Guanfeng. "Human, wait."
Liu Guanfeng smiled at the Wolf King. "What does the Wolf King want to say?"
"I have no enmity with you; why do you seek to exterminate my Wolf Island?"
"I have no enmity with you, but I have two reasons for wanting to kill you. First, you have the Original Fruit here, which is one of the medicinal materials I need. If I don't kill you, I won't be able to obtain the Original Fruit. Second, you were expelled by the Four Sacred Mountains, yet after arriving here, you did not reflect on your actions and instead sought revenge. My master said that if you are not eliminated, there will ultimately be hidden dangers, so they do not want to let you grow any stronger."
"Who is your master?" Liu Guanfeng was startled after hearing these two points.
"My master is the owner of the entire Four Sacred Mountains and the one who expelled you."
"The Four Sacred Beasts of the Four Sacred Mountains are your master's?"
Liu Guanfeng nodded. "That's right. Since I've told you what you wanted to know, you can rest assured and go on your way."
"In that case, there's nothing more for us to discuss. Prepare to die, kid." The Wolf King said, and immediately his body was filled with electricity visible to his right eye.
Liu Guanfeng also maximized his Chaos Bodyguard. When he first arrived on the island, he could only cover a few vital points with Fighting Qi. After several days of intense battles, he was now able to layer Fighting Qi beneath his skin. If he could push the Fighting Qi out from beneath his skin and also cover his internal organs with it, then his Chaotic Qi would reach great mastery.
Just as Liu Guanfeng was getting ready, the Wolf King launched an attack. A bolt of lightning shot from the Wolf King’s body, but instead of heading straight for Liu Guanfeng, it shot up into the sky. This ascending lightning quickly gathered several clouds above Liu Guanfeng's head.
Seeing the rain clouds form, the Wolf King sneered, "Kid, it's unfortunate for you to be here today. However, consider yourself lucky to witness my newly created ultimate technique: Ten Thousand Thunder Calamity. You should be honored before you die! Howl!"
Liu Guanfeng looked up at the rain cloud above him and could feel a massive amount of Thunder Energy contained within it. Gritting his teeth, he thought: Whether I can escape this calamity today depends on your abilities, Dragon Pearl. My life or death is decided today.
"Die, kid!" After a heart-wrenching roar from the Wolf King, another massive bolt of lightning erupted from him and struck directly at the rain cloud above Liu Guanfeng. After releasing this bolt of lightning, the Wolf King collapsed onto a rock and fainted. It seemed that he had staked his life on this final attack.
Looking up at the rain cloud again, it began to churn violently. With a crackle, a bolt of lightning fell directly from the cloud and struck Liu Guanfeng. He quickly mobilized his internal Fighting Qi; guided by the energy of the lightning within him, this energy was directed into the Dragon Pearl inside him. As a result, Liu Guanfeng only felt a slight tingle before nothing major happened.
Just as Liu Guanfeng was feeling relieved, another bolt of lightning fell from the cloud and struck him again, just like before—directly funneled into his Dragon Pearl. After being baptized by four bolts of lightning, Liu Guanfeng confidently prepared to face the fifth bolt; however, instead of one bolt, three bolts fell simultaneously upon him.
Caught unprepared, he was struck by three bolts at once—one was drawn into his Dragon Pearl while the other two began to wreak havoc within Liu Guanfeng's body. Due to the overwhelming energy, he spat out a mouthful of blood. Liu Guanfeng focused his mind and concentrated all his Fighting Qi near his heart. This was how he managed to preserve his life; every time lightning coursed through Liu Guanfeng's body, it left behind a trail of blood marks.
Liu Guanfeng endured the excruciating pain and took out a Nine-Turn Golden Elixir from his bosom, placing it in his mouth. Each time a bolt of lightning struck him, the medicinal power of the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir healed his wounds. Once the lightning that had entered Liu Guanfeng's body was drawn into the Dragon Pearl, the Dragon Pearl immediately retaliated, mobilizing a large amount of Fighting Qi to draw in the other bolts of lightning within Liu Guanfeng.
The Fighting Qi within Liu Guanfeng began to capture the two bolts of lightning. Under the guidance of the Dragon Pearl, the Fighting Qi quickly captured both bolts and brought them back into the Dragon Pearl. However, this was not the end; the storm clouds above Liu Guanfeng continued to churn violently, seemingly brewing even greater bolts of lightning.
Feeling much more comfortable, Liu Guanfeng slowly opened his eyes, only to see a massive bolt of lightning descending upon him. This bolt was much thicker than the three previous ones combined. At this point, Liu Guanfeng was already exhausted from being tormented by the three bolts above him; even moving a finger felt incredibly difficult, let alone mobilizing his Fighting Qi. He could only close his eyes and think: if I am to die, then so be it; I hope that after death, I can traverse back and see my mother.
Liu Guanfeng had given up resisting, but the Dragon Pearl within him did not intend to give up. In response to this bolt of lightning, the Dragon Pearl unleashed all its excess Fighting Qi to strike the point where the lightning would hit Liu Guanfeng. When the lightning struck Liu Guanfeng's body, the Fighting Qi within him quickly formed a passageway through which a silver bolt of lightning traveled. This silver lightning intertwined with the incoming bolt before swiftly pulling it towards the Dragon Pearl.
At the junction where the Fighting Qi and Dragon Pearl were about to connect, a small vortex formed. The leading silver lightning passed through this vortex and entered the Dragon Pearl, while the larger bolt of lightning struggled to enter but was gradually being consumed by the vortex.
The small vortex that was devouring the lightning visibly dissipated over time. Finally, when the large bolt of lightning entered the Dragon Pearl, the small vortex disappeared. Just as the lightning penetrated into the Dragon Pearl, a small crack appeared on its surface—if one did not look closely, it would be nearly impossible to notice.
Once this large bolt of lightning struck down, the storm clouds above Liu Guanfeng vanished without a trace. The world fell silent; beneath some rocks lay more than ten wild wolves, all struck by lightning from earlier. Some were knocked unconscious while others were killed outright.
Seeing that the storm clouds had passed, the surrounding wild wolves cautiously approached where Liu Guanfeng lay. These wolves had initially fled in fear after witnessing their companions being struck down by lightning; now that everything was calm again, they dared to return and investigate. However, they remained wary of the power of lightning and stayed at a distance without getting too close to Liu Guanfeng.
Liu Guanfeng lay there with his eyes tightly shut; beneath him was a pool of blood—evidence of ruptured blood vessels caused by being struck by lightning through his meridians. Fortunately, there wasn't much blood loss as these injuries had been healed by the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir he consumed.
Due to overwhelming pain, Liu Guanfeng had already lost consciousness. The last thing he saw before fainting was that final bolt of lightning descending from the storm clouds. When it struck him directly, its immense energy caused his recently healed wounds to rupture again, leading him to faint once more. The medicinal power of the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir began to operate again under the influence of electricity, slowly healing those wounds.
Opposite Liu Guanfeng lay the mutated Wolf King. After releasing its final bolt of lightning, it had completely drained its strength and collapsed unconscious. The energy it unleashed was dangerously close to that of a Core self-detonation; this was why it dared to use such a move. If there were multiple opponents present, the Wolf King would not have used this technique; however, facing just one enemy gave it confidence that it could defeat him with this attack. What it did not anticipate was that Liu Guanfeng's unknown Dragon Pearl would play a crucial role in giving him a chance at survival.
