Hearing the question, Liu Guanfeng knew that it was Little Black looking for him, and he immediately replied in a strained voice, "Big Black, I'm fine now."
That voice quickly echoed back to Liu Guanfeng's mind: "It's great that you're okay. Where are you now?"
"I don't even know where this is."
"As long as you stay awake, that's enough. Wait for me a moment; I'll find you soon."
Little Black was too anxious, desperately searching for Liu Guanfeng at sea. In reality, the movement of the water was quite limited, and it was impossible to drift too far away. Little Black took a small porcelain bottle from the Cosmic Bag and poured a golden pill into Liu Guanfeng's mouth. The golden Nine-Turn Golden Elixir melted instantly upon reaching Liu Guanfeng's mouth and flowed down his throat straight to his Dantian.
Immediately, Liu Guanfeng felt a surge of warmth fill his body. The comfortable sensation made him let out a long "Hmm," and then he felt his entire body relax, even his eyelids began to feel heavy. Finally, he slowly closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
Seeing that Liu Guanfeng had already fallen asleep, Little Black felt relieved. Little Black dragged Liu Guanfeng to the entrance of a cave; however, there was a large door blocking the way in. Little Black attempted to force the door open with brute strength but gave up after two attempts. It realized that while it did not budge the door at all, the entire small mountain seemed to shake instead. Little Black feared that if it exerted too much force, it might cause the whole mountain to collapse.
Little Black placed Liu Guanfeng in a sheltered spot from the wind and stood guard beside him. It would not leave Liu Guanfeng's side again; although it knew that Liu Guanfeng would not face any danger here, it still did not want to leave him alone.
Golden Rooster announced the arrival of a new day. Little Black, who hadn't slept a wink all night, was still watching Liu Guanfeng closely. When the first rays of morning light fell on Liu Guanfeng's face, his eyes fluttered, and he slowly opened them. Upon seeing Little Black beside him, he smiled and said, "Good morning, Senior Brother."
Hearing Liu Guanfeng's voice, Little Black smiled back, "You finally woke up."
"Sorry to have worried you, Senior Brother."
"Do we need to be so polite between brothers?"
"It's a pity we couldn't stop Bai Yu and the others from digging for treasure," Liu Guanfeng said resentfully.
Little Black chuckled, "Don't worry about that, Junior Brother. When I found out you were thrown into the sea, I thought you were dead. So I wiped out the entire island and sank it in the end; they got nothing."
Liu Guanfeng gaped at Little Black, and after a moment of shock, he asked, "Senior Brother, are you saying they not only got no treasure but also lost their lives?"
Little Black nodded, "Yeah, I didn't think much of it at the time. I just killed everyone and then went to find you."
"Senior Brother, can we go back later to see if there really was any treasure?"
"Sure, let's go check it out; I still remember the place."
Liu Guanfeng stood up and stretched lazily, his joints cracking pleasantly as he felt an indescribable comfort throughout his body.
He looked around and noticed the cave on this small island.
"Senior Brother, there's a door in that cave. Could someone be living inside?"
"I don't know, but there shouldn't be anyone. I knocked for a long time yesterday and no one came to open the door."
"Let's go check it out, Senior Brother." Liu Guanfeng walked ahead to the entrance of the cave. He stood in front of the door, gently stroking it with his hand. Then he knocked a few times on the stone door, and after a while, he knocked again several times, confirming that there was indeed no one living in this cave.
Liu Guanfeng pushed the stone door twice with force, but it didn't budge. He looked up and down and noticed two handprints on the stone door. Aligning his palm with the handprints, Liu Guanfeng placed his hand on top and tried to turn it left and right, but it wouldn't move at all. He pushed inward again and found that the handprints moved slightly, but only sank down two centimeters before stopping. No matter how hard Liu Guanfeng tried, it wouldn't budge anymore.
He removed his palm from the stone door, and the handprints returned to their original state. Liu Guanfeng turned to Little Black and said, "Senior Brother, I can't open it."
"Why don't you try channeling some Fighting Qi into it?"
"Okay, I'll give it another try." After taking a deep breath, Liu Guanfeng placed his hands back on the handprints and channeled Fighting Qi into his palms. With a strong push, he watched as the two handprints slowly sank down. When Liu Guanfeng removed his hands from the handprints, they continued to sink until they created small holes in the stone door. Then he heard a series of mechanical sounds.
After about ten seconds, the sounds stopped, and with a creak, the stone door opened. Once opened, it revealed a small stone chamber inside, where torches had automatically ignited on the walls.
The entire stone chamber was about ten square meters in size; aside from the two torches on the walls, there were no other items. On the ground was an opening leading to a stone staircase. Liu Guanfeng looked toward the opening and noticed faint light coming from inside. He thought to himself that it seemed there were mechanisms here as well and that he needed to be cautious.
Liu Guanfeng steeled himself and slowly descended the stairs. As he walked down, he also cautiously asked, "Is anyone here?"
Soon, the staircase ended, leading into a narrow passageway. Under the dim light of the torches on both sides, Liu Guanfeng was able to maintain a normal pace as he moved forward. After turning a slight corner, a blinding light forced Liu Guanfeng to close his eyes.
What could be so bright? Liu Guanfeng wondered to himself.
After a while, Liu Guanfeng gradually opened his eyes as he adapted to the bright light. Once his eyes were open, he began to search for the source of the light. About ten meters away, he spotted a stone chamber. Above this chamber hung a chandelier made of numerous Fire Element Crystal Cores, and the bright light emanated from these cores. Liu Guanfeng noticed that these Fire Department Cores had been specially treated; otherwise, they would not emit such brilliance.
Moreover, by the light of the chandelier, Liu Guanfeng could tell that the cores were of a high grade. Little Black, following Liu Guanfeng, couldn't help but exclaim upon seeing the chandelier, "Whose handiwork is this? It's impressive that none of these cores are below Eighth Rank."
Hearing Little Black's words, Liu Guanfeng looked up at the chandelier again. If this chandelier were taken outside and auctioned off, it would likely be enough to buy an entire city.
Shifting his gaze from the chandelier, he surveyed the stone chamber, which was furnished entirely with stone furniture. There was a stone bed, a stone table, and four Stone Chairs. On the wall at the back was a stone Table with a pocket resting against it; in front of the pocket lay an Octagonal Plate.
Liu Guanfeng and Little Black stepped into the stone chamber. Just as they entered, a massive stone suddenly blocked their path at the original entrance. Startled, Liu Guanfeng turned around and pushed against the giant stone, but it didn’t budge at all.
At that moment, the fiery red light emitted by the chandelier transformed into a milky white glow, instantly turning the entire stone chamber snow-white.
While Liu Guanfeng was astonished by this change, Little Black suddenly spoke up: "Xiaofeng, take a look at that Dragonstone behind you."
Liu Guanfeng quickly turned around and saw some writing appear on the surface of the Dragonstone: "Once you enter my door, you become my disciple. You must perform three bows and nine kowtows before the stone altar in the center. After completing this ceremony, you will be my disciple; I will reward you in due time."
Upon reading this, Liu Guanfeng recalled an incident involving Zhang Wuji from Jin Yong's writings when he was at the Holy Land of Mingjiao. He thought that since he couldn't leave anyway, following these instructions might give him a chance to escape.
After reading the inscription, Liu Guanfeng started walking toward the center but was stopped by Little Black: "Xiaofeng, I find this very suspicious; be careful."
"Don't worry, senior brother. If the owner of this stone chamber wanted to deal with us, I doubt we would even have a chance to fight back. Besides, bowing a few times isn't a big deal."
Liu Guanfeng reached beneath the chandelier. At that moment, a circle with special patterns formed under him from the milky white light. He stepped into the circle and performed three bows and nine kowtows toward the stone Table ahead as part of the disciple ceremony.
After the ceremony, Liu Guanfeng prepared to rise, but at that moment, the light falling from the chandelier gradually became denser. Liu Guanfeng felt that his movements were being restricted, though the only comfort was that he could still breathe normally.
Gradually, Liu Guanfeng's feet left the ground, and his body was enveloped by a white light. Seeing this, Little Black flew towards the light column, but the column showed no reaction; instead, Little Black was knocked against the wall by the rebound.
Liu Guanfeng saw Little Black trying to get up and then struggled to open his mouth to say, "Brother, don't worry. I'm fine here; I just can't move. Everything else is okay. Let's wait and see."
"Xiaofeng, be careful."
Liu Guanfeng closed his eyes, preparing to mobilize his Fighting Qi to disperse the dense white light. However, just as he was about to release his Fighting Qi, an unexpected event occurred.
Suddenly, Liu Guanfeng felt a large amount of white Fighting Qi seeping into his body through his skin. The first task of this Fighting Qi entering Liu Guanfeng's body was destruction; it gradually damaged his skin and meridians. This was the second time Liu Guanfeng experienced such a bodily rupture; the first time was when he was struck by a giant thunder from the Mutated Wolf King on Wolf Island. This was the second time, but Liu Guanfeng felt that although this experience was similar to the last one, the repaired skin and meridians had undergone significant changes.
"Xiaofeng, how are you doing in there?" Little Black could no longer see Liu Guanfeng inside.
"I'm fine; brother, don't worry."
Liu Guanfeng communicated with Little Black through thought. At this moment, Liu Guanfeng had tightly sealed his lips, and his teeth were clenched together. The sensation of his skin being torn apart bit by bit was not something everyone could endure. Fortunately, Liu Guanfeng's willpower had reached an astonishing level, allowing him to hold on until now.
Even so, Liu Guanfeng's thoughts began to blur gradually. Slowly, he entered a chaotic state of mind and became unaware of what was happening outside; he no longer responded to Little Black's connection.
