A sudden shadow startled the Chief Instructor and his companions, prompting them to draw their weapons. Sitting atop the Mount, they focused their gaze and saw that the shadow was tightly gripping a Qimei Staff.
Upon recognizing the newcomer, the Chief Instructor quickly steadied himself and asked, "Who goes there?"
The figure in black chuckled, "You ask who I am while trying to rob the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in the dead of night? Since I'm here, I might as well tell you: I am Cui Xiao, the Chief Instructor of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Who are you? State your name."
The other Chief Instructor sneered, "You don't need to know who we are. When you go to meet Yama, he will tell you. Haha."
"I already know where you're from, but since you won't say it, I won't ask. Brothers, attack!"
As Cui Zhongyi shouted "attack," the Chief Instructor realized something was wrong. Behind him, the Season Instructor had already surrounded the central tent with five hundred subordinates. The moment Cui Zhongyi called for action, a barrage of arrows shot out from within the tent, and the closest guards were struck down before they could react.
The guards who reacted afterward saw their comrades fall and began deflecting arrows with their weapons. However, they did not anticipate that while they focused on the central tent, arrows from surrounding smaller tents were also being unleashed mercilessly.
Instantly, chaos erupted within the New Home Chamber of Commerce's formation, and casualties quickly exceeded a hundred.
The Chief Instructor shouted at Cui Zhongyi, "You dare to ambush us! I will take your life." With that, he swung his iron rod and charged forward. Seeing the Chief Instructor approach, Cui Zhongyi calmly readied his Qimei Staff and executed a set of Daruma Staff Techniques.
As soon as they clashed, the Chief Instructor realized he was no match for Cui Xiao. Although both were Advanced Knights of high rank, Cui Xiao's staff techniques were simply too unpredictable. After only two exchanges, the Chief Instructor found himself at a disadvantage.
With no other option, he shouted behind him, "What are you two waiting for? Get moving!"
Instructor Ma and Song Instructor rushed forward upon hearing the Chief Instructor's call, ready to join the fray.
Just as they prepared to engage in battle, a white figure burst forth from behind Cui Zhongyi's tent. This figure stood about six feet tall and charged directly at Instructor Ma. Upon reaching him, this White Shadow unleashed a fireball from its mouth. Caught off guard, Instructor Ma could only deflect it with his Great Axe and was thus halted by the white figure.
The creature blocking Instructor Ma was actually Liu Guanfeng's first Mount. When Cui Zhongyi rushed outside, Liu Guanfeng had been hiding inside his tent with his two Mounts, carefully observing the situation outside.
Just as Snow Instructor regained her senses and saw a magical beast charging out from the tent, she felt a surge of joy. There was no doubt that this Mount was there to protect the President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. If that were true, then there shouldn't be any Mounts left by the President's side; even if there were magical beasts present, they couldn't be too formidable. Typically, each person had one strong and one weak Mount. She just didn't expect that Liu Guanfeng also had two Mounts—one strong and one weak—and that it was indeed the weaker one that had intercepted Instructor Ma.
The Snow Instructor and her Mountain Fox dashed towards the tent where Liu Guanfeng was located. Just as the Snow Instructor was about to reach the tent, the flap opened, and a black shadow rushed out from inside. This shadow collided directly with the Mountain Fox she was riding, causing it to let out a tragic cry and stagger backward for several steps before collapsing to the ground, bleeding from its seven orifices, gasping for breath and seemingly on the verge of death.
The Snow Instructor was also knocked backward by the impact and felt a tightening in her chest as she realized her Mount was in dire condition. She looked down and saw her Mountain Fox barely clinging to life. With a cry of despair, she rushed to her Mount's side, tears streaming down her face as she held it close, her eyes fixed on it.
Seeing that the Snow Instructor was unharmed, the Mountain Fox tilted its head and stopped breathing. At that moment, the Snow Instructor gently placed it on the ground and gripped her dual blades tightly, glaring at the black shadow that had just struck her. Before her stood a black beast that had just killed her Fourth Rank Mount with a single blow. Beside the Snow Instructor was another beast, a Seventh Tier Lynx.
The Snow Instructor mounted the Lynx and pointed her Steel Blade at Little Black, saying, "You wretched creature dared to kill my Mount; I will take your life." As soon as she finished speaking, she urged the Lynx forward to engage in battle with Little Black. To avoid revealing their true strength during this skirmish—especially since Liu Guanfeng had previously instructed Little Black to keep its power suppressed around Eighth Rank—she could only fight with this female knight.
At this point, chaos reigned in the Chinese Chamber of Commerce's camp. Cui Zhongyi swung his Qimei Staff to confront Chief Instructor and Song Instructor while his Mutated Wind Wolf battled two beasts. Meanwhile, xp faced off against Instructor Ma and his two mounts, while Little Black continued its struggle with the Snow Instructor.
The central tent had been set ablaze by guards from the New Home Chamber of Commerce, who were now pouring out in large numbers. The guards from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce were caught between two hundred of their own and nearly four hundred from the New Home Chamber of Commerce. Season Instructor directed his guards amidst his team, ensuring that they did not collapse under pressure thanks to his leadership.
Gradually, the guards from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce organized themselves into units that effectively divided their opponents into twenty smaller groups. This showcased their collective combat capabilities. Each squad consisted of ten warriors who had undergone rigorous training. Liu Guanfeng had previously contemplated how to enhance his troops' combat effectiveness in the shortest time possible; he realized that improving individual strength alone was impractical. Thus, when he learned that Xuanwu was proficient in military formations, he began discussing how to integrate simple tactics into their usual training.
With Xuanwu's efforts, Liu Guanfeng's forces developed a small-unit formation called "Ten Heroes Formation." In this formation, each member's movements were nearly identical. Xuanwu designed it this way so that if soldiers were scattered during battle, they could quickly regroup ten individuals under one command to unleash the power of the Ten Heroes Formation. This significantly increased their chances of survival on the battlefield.
Now facing an assault from New Home Chamber of Commerce's guards, two hundred members from Chinese Chamber of Commerce formed twenty Ten Heroes Formations. Each formation had a squad leader responsible for command, making them operate as if they were one cohesive unit during both offense and defense.
Every attack launched by New Home Chamber of Commerce yielded minimal results and resulted in high casualties. Even Season Instructor found himself surrounded by two ten-man squads; despite being an Advanced Knight, he struggled against their coordinated efforts. He attempted several times to break through their formation using sheer strength but failed each time, nearly getting injured by intermediate and junior knights instead.
However, facing an Advanced Knight's brute force was not favorable for those two squads. If not for their strong mounts beside them, they likely would not have withstood Season Instructor's three charges.
Just as Season Instructor prepared for a fourth charge, a white figure floated into New Home Chamber of Commerce's camp. Wherever this figure went, all guards from New Home Chamber of Commerce fell before it effortlessly.
Upon closer inspection, Season Instructor realized that this person in white was one of their primary targets: Liu Xin, President of Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
Season Instructor thought to himself: Wasn't this President supposed to be dealt with by that little vixen Snow Instructor? Why didn't she stop her? Looking ahead, he saw that Snow Instructor was currently engaged in battle with a black beast and things did not appear optimistic for her.
Season Instructor felt a surge of excitement: It seems today's credit will be mine after all. If I manage to kill this President of Chinese Chamber of Commerce, President Guo will surely reward me handsomely when I return. Then I won't have to continue being an instructor; I can go home, buy a house, and marry several wives to live a stable life.
Thinking of this, the Season Instructor quietly concealed himself in the middle of his team, allowing the surrounding guards to encircle him so that he did not stand out. Once hidden among the crowd, the Season Instructor's eyes never left Liu Guanfeng, who had rushed in.
As Liu Guanfeng slowly made his way to the center of the New Home Chamber of Commerce, the Season Instructor grew increasingly excited. Just as Liu Guanfeng was focused on dealing with the guards around him, the Season Instructor circled around to Liu Guanfeng's back. Seizing the opportunity, he raised his Greatsword high and executed a powerful strike aimed at Liu Guanfeng's head.
Although Liu Guanfeng was busy fending off the surrounding guards with his Twin Iron Halberds, he was fully aware of every move made by the Season Instructor.
Liu Guanfeng had come here specifically for this Season Instructor. While observing in the courtyard, he noticed an Advanced Knight present. If allowed to rampage unchecked, this could easily cause significant harm to his side. Liu Guanfeng did not want his soldiers to suffer heavy casualties during a simple escort mission. Therefore, he took out his Twin Iron Halberds from his Cosmic Bag and charged forward.
At that moment, the Season Instructor saw that Liu Guanfeng was unguarded and leaped forward for a strike. Liu Guanfeng had his back turned to the Season Instructor and smiled slightly at a guard from the New Home Chamber of Commerce in front of him. The guard felt uneasy at being smiled at and thought, "Why are you smiling at me? You're about to be cut in half by our Season Instructor."
Just as that guard thought this, he felt a chill at his neck and then saw a headless corpse standing where he had just been.
After killing the guard in front of him, Liu Guanfeng calmly raised his Twin Iron Halberds overhead, creating sparks as they clashed with weapons in the darkness. He used the crescent blade on his Twin Iron Halberds to block the Season Instructor's Greatsword.
Seeing his ambush fail, the Season Instructor forcefully pulled back his Greatsword. The crescent blade on Liu Guanfeng's Twin Iron Halberds tightly gripped the edge of the Greatsword, producing a harsh metallic screech through the air.
The Greatsword was retracted by the Season Instructor, revealing two noticeable scratches on its blade. However, due to the darkness, he did not notice them at all.
After blocking that strike, Liu Guanfeng turned to face the Season Instructor directly. Because of this exchange, there were no guards from the New Home Chamber of Commerce left around either Liu Guanfeng or the Season Instructor.
Upon seeing their President join the battle, two squad leaders from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce quickly rallied their soldiers to successfully divide the New Home Chamber of Commerce into two halves. They moved their opponents to either side, distancing themselves from Liu Guanfeng and the Season Instructor's attack range. These squad leaders understood that with two Advanced Knights clashing (the fact that Liu Guanfeng had become a Divine Knight was not publicly known), they—being intermediate or even Junior Knights—would undoubtedly be caught in the crossfire.
