As over two million soldiers from the four empires were locked in a standoff in Dragon Glory City, Liu Guanfeng found himself entering a wondrous world in the Underworld. At that moment, Liu Guanfeng felt as if he was the only one left in the entire world, surrounded by various energies—Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth—none were missing, along with many mutated attributes like Wind, Cloud, Thunder, and Lightning.
"What is happening?" Liu Guanfeng kept questioning himself. To his delight, these energies seemed very friendly towards him; he could manipulate the elements as he wished, and they moved according to his thoughts.
After playing around for a while, Liu Guanfeng began to merge the elements together. To his surprise, the elements fused effortlessly, even those that were originally incompatible could coexist peacefully under his influence.
In no time, Liu Guanfeng felt that all the elements around him had gathered together, forming a white elemental sphere. He then started experimenting by compressing this elemental sphere. With Liu Guanfeng's efforts, the originally basin-sized sphere was compressed down to the size of a basketball. The effect was quite remarkable; however, Liu Guanfeng was not satisfied and continued to compress the elemental sphere until it became increasingly difficult to do so.
After an unknown amount of time had passed, the basketball-sized elemental sphere was finally compressed down to the size of a soccer ball. At that moment, the previously stable elemental sphere began to stir; many elements started colliding within it, causing numerous bumps of varying sizes to appear on its surface.
Seeing this situation, Liu Guanfeng attempted to stabilize the elements within the sphere using his own power. Perhaps due to his impatience, the more he tried to stabilize it, the more active the sphere became. Finally, when Liu Guanfeng exerted all his strength, a sudden burst of light erupted from within the sphere, and with a loud "bang," it transformed into countless elemental threads that vanished around him.
At that moment, Liu Guanfeng abruptly returned from a state of nothingness back to reality. When he opened his eyes, Little Black and XP were standing right in front of him, their four eyes fixed intently on him.
Liu Guanfeng asked in confusion, "Why are you two staring at me like that?"
"Xiaofeng, are you okay?"
"I'm fine! What's wrong, Senior Brother?"
"You ask me what's wrong? We want to ask you what happened! Can you feel any elemental presence here now?"
Liu Guanfeng was taken aback by Little Black's question. He then began to carefully sense his surroundings and realized that Little Black was right; there was not a trace of elemental energy left in the entire cave. Liu Guanfeng started to recall: Could those elements just now have been from this cave?
"Not only that, but look up," Little Black said, shaking his head helplessly.
When Liu Guanfeng looked up, he was indeed startled again, for above him in the cave, what was once solid rock had now turned into a sieve, with many small holes appearing at the top of the rock, numbering no less than a hundred.
Seeing the small holes above, Liu Guanfeng understood that what he experienced during his cultivation was not just imagination but reality. However, what exactly had happened? Liu Guanfeng pondered for a long time without finding an answer.
"Don't worry, Senior Brother. These might have been caused by my cultivation. As for how it happened, I still haven't figured it out."
"As long as you're fine. Just now, when I was outside with XP, I sensed some problems with the elements in the entire cave. We thought you were cultivating and didn't want to disturb you. But suddenly, the elements inside vanished as if they had exploded, so we hurried in to check if you were okay. Thankfully, you're fine."
"Senior Brother, how long have I been cultivating here?"
"How long? It seems to be about twenty days."
"Oh, twenty days. But those twenty days were quite fruitful."
Little Black looked Liu Guanfeng up and down and then nodded, saying, "That's right; at least four of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians have been opened."
Liu Guanfeng smiled slightly without speaking. At that moment, XP rubbed its head against Liu Guanfeng's leg. After patting XP's head, Liu Guanfeng said, "I know what you want to say. I just finished my cultivation today and need a day to rest. Tomorrow we'll deal with those two black dragons and then go collect our rewards and head home. I wonder how things are outside."
After letting Little Black and XP rest in the cave, Liu Guanfeng prepared a lot of meat again and then went out to barbecue. When he returned, several hundred little Hellhounds had gathered behind him.
Seeing these little creatures, XP frowned; after all, it was the leader among Hellhounds. Although these little ones were not big in size, they were all Sixth Tier magical beasts with considerable intelligence. So these little creatures immediately stopped in their tracks at the entrance, watching the meat skewers in Liu Guanfeng's hands. However, since their leader was inside, none dared to step forward easily.
Liu Guanfeng looked at the young ones and laughed heartily, "Alright, XP, put away your chieftain's airs. These are the hopes of your race." After saying that, he tossed a piece of roasted meat to XP and shared another piece with Little Black.
The two magical beasts ignored the little Little Guys and took their food to their respective corners to enjoy their meal.
Meanwhile, Liu Guanfeng continued to act as a caretaker for the little dogs, distributing the roasted meat to the Little Guys while also taking time to satisfy his own hunger.
Soon, all the roasted meat Liu Guanfeng had prepared was completely devoured, and he himself was only about eighty percent full, but that was enough. After taking a sip of water, Liu Guanfeng lay down on the hay and fell asleep.
Since there was no concept of time in the Underworld, no one could tell how long Liu Guanfeng slept. When he woke up from his sweet dreams, he felt completely refreshed.
After having some dry rations, Liu Guanfeng called for XP: "XP, are your people ready? We can go take revenge on your parents now."
"Master, I've been waiting for you to say that." With that, XP dashed out of the cave. After barking at the sky, all the Hellhounds in the rocky area became busy because today they were going to kill the two black dragons beneath Three Layers. The other Hellhounds that hadn't reached Tenth Rank would only be going to their deaths, so Liu Guanfeng gathered all the Tenth Rank Hellhounds together while leaving thirty Divine Knight Hellhounds behind to guard and protect the pups.
The remaining one hundred sixty Hellhounds headed to the entrance of Three Layers, where another twenty Divine Knight Hellhounds were on guard. Liu Guanfeng sent these twenty Hellhounds back home to watch over and prevent any sneak attacks from the black dragons while leaving one hundred at the entrance of Three Layers to prevent the two black dragons from escaping.
Liu Guanfeng rode on XP with Little Black leading the remaining sixty Hellhounds straight towards Three Layers.
In the Underworld's Three Layers, this was the hottest place and was considered closest to the Earth's core. At this moment, the two black dragons were resting inside.
Recently, both black dragons felt both frustrated and fearful. They were frustrated because they sensed changes in the Underworld recently, particularly a thunder tribulation. They knew that among all creatures in the Underworld, the strongest were the Hellhound tribe. Although many of these Hellhounds were Ninth Tier magical beasts, they all possessed Forbidden Spells and could not advance to Divine Knight.
However, for safety's sake, they decided to go out and take a look. Whoever was trying to advance must be stopped; only then could they remain forever as the rulers of this Underworld.
However, just as the two of them flew out of the Three Layers to investigate the cause of the lightning tribulation, they were suddenly blocked by two magical beasts. One of them was a white Three-Headed Hellhound. Having been rivals with the Hellhound Family for many years, they were very familiar with Hellhounds, but they had never seen this one before. Next to this Hellhound stood a large Black Bull covered in scales and sporting a pair of horns.
Although the appearance of these two magical beasts startled them, they were dragons and did not take these creatures seriously at all. They charged forward to attack, but once the battle began, they realized just how wrong they were.
The strength of the large Black Bull was incredibly formidable; neither of them could match it. The dragon race possessed powerful magical and physical defenses, but these defenses seemed ineffective against the Black Bull's lightning attacks, which consistently left both black dragons severely injured.
As for the Three-Headed Hellhound, although its strength was on par with the two black dragons, their physical defenses appeared useless against this Hellhound, as each bite drew blood from them. What made matters worse for the two black dragons was that these two beasts seemed completely immune to their dragon might, meaning their advantage as dragons was rendered ineffective in this fight.
Thus, underprepared and overly confident, the two black dragons were forced back to the Three Layers. After returning, it took them three days to heal their injuries.
Just after they had finished healing, they were fully alert and eager to venture out again because they sensed that there was still a lightning tribulation above; perhaps it had not yet concluded. So they stealthily returned to the second layer. Upon arriving again at the second layer, they found that the scaled Black Bull was gone, replaced by their old adversary—the leader of the Hellhounds and ten elders. The two black dragons felt reassured by this; with their strength, one could easily defeat eleven opponents. Moreover, the remaining Three-Headed Hellhound was somewhat weaker than them; as long as they took some time to defeat it first, they could then team up to eliminate all twelve of the strongest Hellhounds here today. Afterward, they could swagger into the Hellhound tribe to pillage and destroy.
Initially, they had refrained from recklessly entering the territory inhabited by the Hellhounds because of those eleven formidable Hellhounds who each had hundreds of Nine-Tier Hellhounds protecting them. Whenever they attacked the Hellhound tribe before, although they managed to kill some Hellhounds, they always returned battered and bruised.
Now all eleven Hellhounds were present without any guards around them—this was indeed a perfect opportunity to eliminate them. Thus, their pride as dragons resurfaced; in their eyes, these twelve Hellhounds were simply offering themselves up for lunch.
Consequently, the two black dragons charged toward the Three-Headed Hellhound and the group of eleven Hellhounds. However, upon engaging in battle again, both black dragons found themselves utterly frustrated; they were astonished to discover that these eleven Hellhounds were no longer the same ones as before—they had all advanced into divine beasts.
Although these eleven Hellhounds could not match their strength individually, facing eleven opponents meant there was no hope for victory whatsoever. Before the black dragon charging toward the Eleven Elders even understood what was happening, it suffered multiple injuries. The other black dragon was shocked upon seeing its companion hurt and seized the opportunity to bite and claw at what remained of its fellow dragon.
As cunning creatures among dragons, both black dragons quickly thought about fleeing. Thus, once again feeling dejected, they were driven back to the Three Layers.
